I have to say that a lot of these conversions sound confusing to me. I like the idea of the army in some regards, but it seems like the "night lords heretic strike force" could be better expressed as one player playing Night Lords and others playing Guard with appropriately heretical conversions.

In case you care, that's probably because your poll has extremely skewed possible answers. It can be simplified to this:

A. I'm ok with it.
B. I'm ok with it.
C. I'm ok with it.
D. I'm not sure.
E. You're stupid.

You are either ok with it, don't know or care enough to formulate an opinion, or insulting. Your largest vote (D) for "Not sure about it" is because there is no non-confrontational negative answer in your poll. If you tried a more balanced set of options, I think you'd get a much different answer.

What do you think of my counts as idea for tournament play?

A.) Counts as is awesome, go for it!
B.) As long as it is easy to identify which models are which
C.) I would prefer not to play against a Counts As army in a tournament
D.) Due to potential confusion, Counts As armies shouldn't be in tournaments.

If your poll looked like that, I think B would have a decent vote, A would have a token showing from non-tournament players who are browsing this forum, and C and D would have the largest columns of votes by far.

It's almost impossible to resist a dare but in your case I think I will. I've covered my reasoning and I'm not going to go back and forth with someone who's view is so completely different than mine. I had actually started to write out an in-depth reply till I hit this:

Close enough, but why not just use flesh hounds?"

This pretty much sums up your view on things and also shows that your not even consistant in your views. As chaos warhounds don't have a set statline in 40k and have the same silhouette they meet your criteria but you don't even like that.

You don't actually want to hear the plans man. Be honest with yourself. Your against projects of this nature which is fine but I've explained things over and over again in different aspects. I've explained that this is a thread for a template of an idea not a done deal. And I've explained that armies like this almost invariably need to be built before people accept them. In the abstract most people, yourself included, aren't down with it. Hell I'm even in the build it and we'll see group 9/10 times. And that's cool. But I'm not going to argue with you about the seeds of the idea when so much depends on the execution.

3 was an honest question, I was just wondering why you didn't use the actual model since they are so similar. I would have zero problem with proposed counts as 3.

And all your talk of me not wanting to hear your plans.. what? That is complete bs. If you have the plans, stop whining about being persecuted for things that everyone else obviously doesn't understand. Just post the plans, everyone can bask in their awesomeness, and everything would be coo.

Your unwillingness to post plans you supposedly have that would fix everything and silence your most vocal critic tells everyone that you do in fact not have those plans at all.

I do in fact WANT to see the plans.

But hell, if you want to misinterpret my honest question and indifference about an extremely minor counts-as, and use that as an excuse to ignore whatever you want... then I think frankly you're quite childish.

I'm not trying to silence you Ph34r. I probably phrased it poorly.

Personally your view has made me more inclined to look at things slightly differently than when I put this together. And I'll say it one more time, it's an idea thread not a finished product thread. It's to get ideas of what people think just wouldn't work of which the primary one has been the modified scout bikers as seekers which is getting dropped from the final idea due to me using the idea else (2 heavily converted scout bikers or possibly horsemen riding as an "outrider" patrol and counting as a chariot).

I just don't see the point in going back and forth with you without a finished product. You see one thing in your head and probably not what I see. See what I mean? Without a visual your not going to be happy. I can explain things only in the most generic of ways quite simply because the work hasn't started yet. When it does it'll go up in P&M and you can feel free to critique there as well. But trying to convince you that the look/style/silhouette will match without a visual won't work.

Alright, well when you get more concrete ideas I'll be waiting with bated breath.

Horrors have already been explained. A couple of posts back on what I'd be doing I clarified them.

Spawn as DP's are build up larger because I don't want the actual DP that I'd be converting to be mistaken for on when it's a BT. So build up the Spawn on larger bases to match the silhouette (which because they always have a 4+ isn't a huge deal) but leave them distinctly different from the Bloodthirster.

DP as a Bloodthirster is for a few reasons. 1) have you ever tried to keep that whip in the BT's hadn attached? I've pinviced my friends several times to no avail. I want a plastic model for it. 2) He has the same stature as a BT 3) A cool head swap (probably the defiler helm or possibly a maticore head) and the addition of a whip to go with the Axe hand would work just fine for the look.

He's got the armor that a BT has, he's got a distince look which a BT would have, he has the standard weapons that a BT would have. And I like the model a hell of a lot more than an imbalanced metal one.

Sidenote: I've got concrete ideas of what I'm doing. It just won't translate into what you see in your head based on your reactions to quite a few things.
