I have now completed the Pak40, Command Team and the 1st obs team for the panzerwerfer 42 battery, pictures to follow shortly. So that only leaves me with the second obs team to complete ;-)

Also arriving this week should be the SU100 tank killers, so will get these done asap. Although I have heard talk that the ROF 1 has killed these off a bit, but hey they have a massive gun!!!

Nice, what camo are you doing to them? Brown blobs/strips as per that one soviet style or something more interesting?

Also, SU100 tanks have a nice walkthrough video here now: http://www.youtube.com/user/flamesofwar

Egad that was a lot of pics to scroll through. All look pretty great, I would lose my patience over all those models if I needed to paint them!

Lol, that is the trouble with the soviets, they are a swarm army, although the other armies can get quite large if you have a lot of different options.

Ok, SU100 have now had base colours done

Just been shaded

For any tanks that have camo, I use the army painter soft tone, for the basic soviet green, I use the strong tone and then drybrush after it has dried. With the soft tone, there is no need to do this.

Looking good, I wasnt sure about the quality of german grey for the tracks in the first few photos, but after weathering it looks good.

No me either lego, but I did drybrush them boltgun metal as well, so come out ok. I don't think there would have been a lot of difference if you had started with black.

No worries, my pleasure to share, the soviets are pretty easy to do.

Here are the steps

1. Undercoat soviet green using flames of war spray
2. Paint tracks boltgun metal
3. Shade using the army painter strong tone
4. Dry brush flames of war 894 Russian Green
5 . Drybrush graveyard earth
6. Matt Vanish vallejo spray

Thanks again for the grat comments, it really helps to keep me motivated.

Under the brush this week, will be a Wespe platoon and the rest of the tiger 1 ZUG.

Today was the first day that the weather was good enough to get any priming done here, so you are lucky having so much primed from before the weather went bad. Look forward to seeing more.

Also, any chance of some combined army photos - everything german and everything soviet you've done?

Someone's had a productive week! Good stuff, thanks for the group photos so far. T34s look especially good with some nice weathering. Did you do the damage to the side of the one or was it like that when you got it? Looks good as war damage either way.

No worries and thanks.

The T34's where damaged when trying to glue the tracks on or have been damaged through use and transport. I used to leave them as they where, but I have now started painting the damage and weathering it to IMHO to look like great battle damage.

I also just noticed that I need to purchase another 7 T-34/85 as I only have 13!!!!!

Also today I nearly completed another two wespes and 2 Tigers ;-) Oh and started on another two soviet armoured cars

ouch bad luck on the tiger. Are the Katyushas as much of a pain to assemble as I've always presumed. Are you going to do infantry for them too?

There where the original Katyushas and yes they where a complete nightmare to build, tiny metal components and super glue are not your best friend!!!!

The newer Katyushas are alot easier to build, the ones in the box set.

Yes there are some crew for these that will follow shortly;-)

The rest of the T34/85's arrived yesterday, so will finsih off that list as well and do another Tiger in the same batch!!!

How do the box set ones differ? Do they have individual rails to glue together or is it all one component? I thought that they were the same as the blister ones so have held off getting any for fear of having to assemble 8 of the evil things but if they are easier in the box set that makes them very tempting!

Great thanks, look forward to seeing. I checked out a box of them today at hobbycraft but there was no diagram on the back that I could see to give me any hint of the construction of the boxed versions.
