Seriously nice poses on all of these miniatures! I like them a lot. The bases really set them off nicely too. Its made me want to put some serious work into the bases of the Khorne army I have planned.
I like the paint scheme a lot too.

OnTheEdge, burglarboycie, 1-i - Thanks for the comments!

Brother Heavy now ordained:

Brother Heavy was brought into 5th Company to provide some much needed fire-power against my cousin's Tyranid force - We battled yesterday, but even with Brother Heavy the Blood Ravens were slain to a man!!!

And yes, that is a mould line across his helmet and yes, I am planning on getting back to the eyes, and doh! - I also just noticed I have left the edge of the base unfinished as well!

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

How are you using these in game terms, cos they're oddly armed for a tactical squad....

Imperial Monkey - great question!
When I started the Blood Ravens I knew nothing about gaming except that tactical squads were 5-10 troops and a Captain was better than a Marine.
So as I was building I was applying "Cool before Rules" i.e. just building what I liked!

We've since played these once as a single 10-man squad + Captain and Dreadnought using anyone strangely armed as 'counts as' standard Marines.

After discussion with GW staff and then a few hours fiddling with the Blood Angels codex, we are now playing them as a 130 pt Captain, 160 pt 5 x Sternguards, 190 pt 5x Vanguards and a 120 pt Dreadnought, which with the addition of Brother Heavy leaves us one Marine spare.
I'm working towards having 2 x 10 man tactical squads sooner or later, but at at the moment if we play at the store the staff let us just play with what we have, and if we play against my cousins murderous Tyranids he lends us 20 Imperial Fists.

Sorry Lamby. Didn't mean to pick at the eyes after a small horde of people did the same. Wasn't sure if you had noticed 'cause some people don't. As much as it pains me to say, I forget stuff all the time. >_< Don't worry, I won't nag you about mould lines.

Ending on a positive note, your work is great! I like the tone of red you have going on.

Have you thought of the Squad Leader as a Libby since they are supposedly descended from the 1k sons?

They look great, particularly in the army shot. Good work.

I lol'd for ages at "He's not heavy, he's my brother!".

How is the red done? I'm guessing there's some sort of wash involved?

Space Marine - Thanks!
- Shoulder pads are: 1 coat of Gryphon Sepia, 3 coats of diluted Bleached Bone (still streaky!!!), 1 coat of purity seal gloss varnish, 1 coat of heavy devlan mud/badab black wash, spray satin varnish, paint the rims with chaos black and use a black 1mm Sakura pen to line in the edge , finally some minor battle wear using delicate drybrushing with chainmail
- At a later date (i.e. when I get them from Forge World!) I will add BR decals and squad markings... and do the eyes green too!

Miss Dee - Thanks! - I was going to go through the whole make-my-own decals, but only just found them on FW - hence the blank areas of the shoulder pads and shields - but I did do the eyes this time!

Just like everyone else, I love the poses you've got going on here! I smell a Blood Ravens vs. Legion of Thorns battle looming

Are you going for ultra-glossy with your marines? I looks like they could use a matte-finish coat, imho.

What head did you use for your termie captain? I can't place it.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
