Hey, Adam. Glad to hear that they might be wising up. Here's the response I got from them:

------------
Thank you for your concern, the terrain is completed and will be shipping out today.

This thread cheered me up.

Internet commandos.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Sadly, from other hobbies I participate in (SCA), its sometimes quite hard to recover your funds from small operations like this. Reporting to paypal doesnt always work, lawsuits are too expensive and time consuming to be worth it and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau doesnt do too much. Peer pressure and negative reviews to the community is all you can really do sometimes.
I'm really glad to hear that this is finally working out, Owain! Congrats!

We'll see, won't we? If that stuff doesn't get to Adam soon I say we let loose a flurry of angry messages like the galaxy's never seen.

Seeing as how multiple members of the dakka community have sent polite messages to the company, as well as the amazing patience of the OP I think that reposting this thread to every wargaming forum we know of is the correct action, provided the company doesn't come through with the goods. If they do, well thats all she wrote!

Very glad to hear this worked out ok, hopefully your patience has paid off.

I'm going to join the calls for pics of it all, including the river piece, when you get it.....I'll laugh, then be not so amused and actually quite dismayed at their business practice if it's the pieces they were putting up for auction.

Not good enoguh as far as I'm concerned.

Coincidence that they only responded after they got wind that Dakkaites planned an internet/email campaign against them that would effect future buisness? Doubt it.

They should offer some free pieces or a substantial discount at this point imho or I would demand a full refund.

Completely agree here. I think the OP is being FAR to nice about this whole thing. I mean these guys basically are pushing you around and as CT said, they are only NOW trying to make up for it after hearing about a bunch of people about to tell the world how crappy their services are.

Benefit of the doubt. Internet commando's will unleash hell if they keep jerking him around. Why NOT give the benefit of the doubt? Also, LOL @ business giving away free stuff. This is America man....its like Sparta only we want $$$ instead of kicking Persians down an oubliette.

They should be ashamed of themselves. They were not willing to send anthing until several members of Dakka emailed them and said it was disgusting behaviour they then relented and have agreed to send the scenery you bought. Until that point you were stuffed and had no recourse because they could not even be bothered to reply to you.

I don't give a turd how good the terrain is, their service is literally criminal and on that basis alone is enough to boycott them and advise anyone to avoid them.

If I am not in my room, is it still my room?

Having read all this I'm shocked at OP's patience.
I would have had a ragegasm.
Their terrain is decent, but nothing spectacular enough to warrant having to wait a couple months! oh and the bad business practices! How did you cope, bro?

Having read this, I would never even consider buying or suggesting the service to anyone.

I love how this went from a story of redemption to one of vengeance in the space of about 1 page worth of posts lol, either way it gives me the warm fuzzies about the dakka community

Someone who wants to focus thier life on other pursuits? I mean, sure you will never order from the place again and tell others not to do so, but he did get what he wanted and apparently content with the product so it isn't as if he was robbed. Lesson learned, terrain obtained, moving on to other more important concerns.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I think its a bit pretentious to demand that you be made happy by every transaction. A great deal of stress and anger could be saved if we were to merely accept satisfaction.

indeed, I thought it was good enough that he finally got his terrain in the end thanks to the help of his dakka brothers and sisters, however some people seem to not be satisfied with a happy ending. it's like batman catching the joker, and then sueing the pants off him for the stress he caused lol

On December 26th I received:

Adam ;

This is Dennis with epicterrain.com I am soo sorry please let me Talk to the wife, your stuff has been done for a very long time I swear to you ,I don't know what it going on.. we have been out of town for the holidays and I just now got your email PLEASE let me find out ok I WILL take care of you .. I just read this email and about had a heart attack I want my customers to say nothing but good about me and my site so please give me a day ill email you tomorrow and let you know what's going on OK ? That is if I can get my heart started back up .. and again man I AM SOOOOO sorry I will get on this ASAP I promise
Dennis

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently, blaming the wife.....

I feel alittle better after this one. I can feel some emotion. And either some genuine remorse or in my opinion, someone that just read a post at a popular forum about his business failing a customer utterly....

Either way, something is about to happen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On December 29th I get:

Hey Adam your terrain just went to the post office.... Again i am Sooooo sorry i threw a surprise in the box for you i hope you like it its a front piece that's featured on the website... I really hope you order from me again this isn't how i run my business and im sorry . Kinda fell through the crack but i hope the surprise in the box is enough of a sorry to make up for this MAJOR screw up on my part.
Dennis & Chellee @ www.epicterrain.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then on Monday.......

I got my TERRAIN!!!!

I'll post pictures of it this weekend when I'm near my camera.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But then, after not sending them an email since before Christmas, I get this today:

We have replied to several of your emails. And that terrain is not yours. Yours went several days ago in two boxes. They went priority mail.
Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

Apparently Dennis just read the email that said I thought they might be selling my terrain. That is soooooo last year. I'm thinking even more so that he didn't read my email, but did read the forum, otherwise, why would he be replying to it now and with this tone?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, am I satisfied.... hmmm

I'm content in having what I've paid for.

I'm excited that Dakkites made this possible, there is no doubt this is what it took.

I wish it didn't have to go "there", and hurt their business, as I'm sure this will affect it, if only slightly.

They did send an extra piece, which, I have mixed emotions about. It helps, but only in the way that if they hadn't it would have made them look worse. It doesn't really help my feelings today. Maybe tomorrow.

But at the end of the day, I've got what I paid for. I like it. And now I can close this crappy chapter.

Again, Thanks to everyone who texted, emailed, and called to get the ball rolling on this whole process.

Without you, my table would be bare.
