And thanks everyone for the nice comments, at this time it is just a static display model since the BA's are the only ones that can use legally. But I love the whole "gunship" idea so I wanted to build a true platform for this. So when they do allow these or something of the like in the standard codex I can still build upon it.

I really need to get rolling on finishing up my one squad of Ultra's I've been working on for a....aaa month LOL... Well this darn SR came out and well I had to have it and then convert it. GreyDeathOne can attest to my never building it out of the box mentality. Shucks I'm surprised I've lasted so far without converting each of my tactical guys LOL. Well I also purchased a Furioso Dread to build into a Chaplin dread for my Black Templars. And I'm going to make GreyDeathOne a Mortis pattern twin linked auto cannon arm for his DA dread. If only I was good at sculpting I would never have to buy minis or tanks again LOL..

Nice little operation you've got running here, especially with the longer Stormraven. But you think you've taken a long time with just 1 squad? I recall that I got my latest tactical squad back Christmas '09 and I still am only 6/10 through them... just barely finishing off some 7 year old orks... and kinda need to get that 'other' project off the ground... Anyway! Resume what you are doing here; it's always a nice change to see some non-Second Company Ultramarines (even though my first group is just that), and so keep along with that

Hi Friends, I've been working on various projects and other hobby things as the mood strikes me. I'm not very disciplined and finishing something unless I'm driven. But I was recently on staycation and figured I would hang out with my buddy Grey Death One or GD1 as some know him. And we came up up with a good idea, "Teach me some airbrush techniques and some flesh painting techniques". well so we started, he was off painting my Rhino/Razorback and I was off to take a crack at my LR's. now mind you I've never airbrush painted any kinds of vehicles only just Primed and based. And how easy it is when someone is there to actually show you how to apply those techniques makes it a whole world of difference.

Here's my LR's both the same, not quit finished yet but I have a majority of it fleshed out. my favorite thing is the light glare, looks pretty damn cool and is way easy once you learn it.





Here's my Rhino/Razorback, that GD1 started, I just need to finish detailing it out.




Here's some IG Catachan mini I put together to practice working on my flesh technique that GD1 showed to me. I need more practice but first try isn't so bad. I used some armored torsos from MaxMinis on them I wanted something different.






And here's another guy I slapped together for another go, haven't laid the paint on him yet.

well, i must say i'm a tad jealous of your raiders! they look really nice, and yep, you nailed the glow from the headlights! I love how that looks on them, soon you'll be as good as GD1 and then we'll all jump ship to your blog and leave GD1 to cry into his paint,... Huh?....what, Oh GD1, hi, how are you? *awkward silence* Ummm we love you! really! I didn't mean it.....

Oh great, GD1 has gone off in a huff! I better go and chase him to his blog and talk him out of throwing a compressor at me!

My first love will always be static display models kits. As 40k kits are made to be handled on the gaming tables, I love to build static models. Anyways sorry for clogging your lungs

And that glow effect looks really damn cool in the pictures, I just realized it lol. I hope to learn a lot more from this community and all of my friends here on Dakka.

That "headlight glare" is SICK! I thought it was LED until I read the description. That is one well-done effect. Wow.

Dig the Guardsmen as well. They will look awesome with Chaos Stars burned into their foreheads.

You sir have inspired me! I love those ultra-smarfs and what you are doing with them. That HB guy esiply! BTW how did you make that? Was it a regular HB with an Ultra sign put on? I prefer that storm raven too a whole lot better looks a whole lot more realistic (If wharmmer can get any more non realistic as it currently is). Is that for your Smarfs too? I was archery thing of purchasing one myself in the far future and this is what I may do. If you are going to start to collect IG my I suggest if you buy a leman Russ that you extend the hull a bit more to? It looks a whole lot better trust me! (This is what im planning on doing anyway) LOL!!! Love to see more and have that stomraven with a lick of paint on it too.
