The statue is brilliant! Never seen that idea before. I also think that whatever you do with it keep the scaffolding there, it looks very good! Also the bilboard is just plain awesome.

Very inspirational stuff. The level of realism in some of the pieces is very impressive. I especially like the idea of actual fabric banners, I may have to try out some imperial variants.

Good job and looking forward to the progress.

WOW!

Your city is looking amazing great work on Orkifying it.

The craters look great i would suggest filling one with more water effects and maybe a rotting guardsmen a bit of razor wire and some oil barrels.

You got a very talented friend mind if i borrow him i have an entire city to paint lol

Unbelievably gorgeous. I am a sucker for terrain as a lot of places I've been in clubs haven't cared to make anything more than a few sad modular hills and the same railroad hobby pine trees. Totally awesome.

The statue - my inner Space Marine was enraged at the defilement of an imperial icon, my inner Ork laughed for quite a while. I'm so confused now.

Fantastic looking terrain... It is things like this that remind me why i secretly want to start an ork army. Love the statue I could never have thought of something that creative i've seen a lot of orkified buildings but never a space marine icon like that... keep up the great work, i look forward to seeing more.

Fantastic stuff! I think you struck a great balance between the Orky facade and the visibly Imperial structure underneath. The grots "fixin' up" the statue, especially, just ooze character.

Sorry I havent updated this plog in a while. I built my table a long time ago and was trying to recreate asphalt. I used black paint with a texture additive and it never looked good (especially with how nice the buildings look). I was always looking for something better and I came across the Zuzzy site which sells textured rubber battle mats. They had a "broken black top" that fit my needs nicley. I ordered it and it took 9 weeks with no communiaction from Zuzzy which sucked but the mat is very nice. here is the unpainted mat.

I then proceded to wash the whole mat with black. I then drybrushed the brick mechrite red and then scorched brown. here is a work in progress.

after finishing all the brick detail I gave the entire mat a heavy drybrush of Codex grey including a light drybrush in places on the brick. after this was a light drybrush of fortress grey on all the asphalt areas. After this I used a black wash to highlight all the cracks and divits in the surface. here is a pic of it halfway done/ half way black wash.

Finaly a finnished mat ready for terrain. here are the finished pics and a few detail shots.

[/url] The mat looks amazing I think I will buy another smaller one for my display board even with the crappy service from Zuzzy, All in all took me a week to paint. I'll try to get some pics of my board all put together for you.

I saw this guy on ebay had some rubble piles for sale when I was thinking about making some rubble piles and they were exactly what I pictured in my head. I missed the auction and waited and waited for him to post more for sale but he never did. I contacted him through ebay and asked him if he was making more and he offered to make some for me. He was a great guy and even asked about my board and said he would add Ork bits to them for me. When I got them I was amazed, he did a great job and was a very nice guy and I wanted to share them here. Here are the rubble piles for my Orky CoD.

good find on the rubble bits, they should go well with your board.

On the subject of your terrain, I really like your color pallette. very GW orky, I love anything that has an old school color theme.

Lastly, your cloth banners are real show-stoppers. I do believe I will see if I can make some myself, if you dont mind!

@pox, it all looks great together. thanks I'm glad you like it and on the banners I think its best to use as many materials as you can to get a more realistic feel on such a small scale. by the way the stuff you sculpt is amazing, I really like your fighta bomba.

I have 3 more ruins of varius sizes to finish, some shipping containers, the billboard, and a bridge left to paint. after that I will cover just over 55% of my board. enough to have two boards (wich I'm trying to finish for the Comikozi convention) or an awsome city fight board. I have about 25% painted so at least one table ready.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I update today first with my Billboard WIP. I finnaly based it and made a makeshift bunker for the orks. Its primed black and ready to paint (it will be the next piece to get painted).

Next up is a pumping station that is more of an intact building then a ruin. I used 2 manufatorium kits, armourcast's sedament pool, a drain grate, and some herst pipes. Also besides the dags ontop I took inspiration form Terraformers thread and fasioned a giant fist from plastic card with a foam card core and attached it to the side(sorry to steal your pattern but your work is awsome Terraformer). It also ties into my exsisting canals I built with the drain grate that I put on it.

Finally is a small communications building. I've just added dags and a glyph over the door but have also built a comm. array with some ork glyph antenas and a grot hacking into the system

The last two buildings need some rubble before I prime them but they are almost done. I'm also pretty close to getting two full tables complete. Other then these I have amedium size building thats almost done, 4 shipping containers and a bridge that look good but I'd like to repaint them (but will work as is).

I built a billboard for my Ork theamed table (the one in the post above) and put Imperium propaganda posters on it. I'm painting it right now (for a game this weekend) and planning on writing an Ork taunt across it and I need some "propa Orkie sayins" so I'm asking for some fluff help here. I'll post it up here when I'm done.
So far I got
"Orks iz da best"
"Stomp da humies"

Oh man, that looks great. I wish I had some room to store some Orky terrain in my appartment, but unfortunately I don't have any space or even room for a proper gaming table. If I did I would start to do Orky conversions of the Imperial ruins that GW has on sale.

@ Swordwind Thank you, my orks had a great time "makin it butiful"

@Bonde Thats exactly what most of this terrain is and with the Zuzzy mat and how modular everything is it stores down pretty small. I could fit it all in the corner of a closet.

@Dreadanant Ask and ye shall recieve...

I was asked by one of my FLGS to bring my table down to their first big tourny of the year. I didnt do that great but the store has lots of room and light and I got some great pictures of the table all set up. Enjoi

Once it was put together it was a pretty balanced table but I think I need some small wall barriers. So I picked up some of the resin orky barriers GW sells and they are on my workbench now. Thanks for looking.
