Hello, Ive been working on my City of Death board for about a year and I've decided to start shareing my progress . My board is heavily textured black with two kinds of grey dry brushing (no pics currently but will add them later), so pretty basic and allows me a good surface for a completly modular table.

Now tht back story.....It was the middle of the night when the first roks hit. The orks pretty much took over with no fight as the world was inhabited with mainly factory workers and factorys dedicated to building machines of war. This was a boon to Grimgob as he had an assembly line of new war weapons at his disposal. He took up headquarters near the docks and quickly established a small fortified area of the city for his own. He lived on happily for ahwile making glorius war and trading weapons with other ork tribes, building masses of treasures and fame. Until.... Lysander landed with his Imperial fists to break the ork strong hold. Thats where we find our city in the midst of a great struggle for control of great factorys of destruction through the capture of the warboss's strongholds.

Which leads me to my first Building. A burned out manufactorum taken over by one of the mobs of boy. I espeacialy like the ork totem pole made from the smoke stack. I modled every think on this building and I believe it's two manufatctorum sets but my friend from my FLGS who is a very gifted painter painted this for me.

More to come.

Not a bad start. I like the totem stack, the rest of the building could use some more orkyness though. Keep up the good work.

Here is a Sanctum Imperialis that has been a home to a perticularly unruley mob of boyz. It was built using two Sanctum Imperialis kits, a piece from the 40K barriers and the chest face plate from the Stompa. Again I modeled all of this but my very talented (I can't say that enough) friend painted this for me. I like how he painted the wrecked bike in the IF scheam even with a little freehand fist on the back of the bike .

They look great; however I think that the Ork's would have defaced some more of the imperial symbols on the ruins before adding their orky additions.

And the last one for today my Dishonoured Imperium statue. This is a work in progress and still need rubble but Its almost finished (except paint and I was going to flock the base with burnt grass). It took me awhile to think how to fit the statue into my theam and I think the grots working to make it orky add just the right amount of humor in it. enjoi

More to come, just not tonite. Thanks for looking and hoped you enjoyed so far.

Just moved to Australia.

The statue is a work of art. I never really thought about doing that. This is amazing keep it up. But where are the signs of or massacres, or ork eating pits. And blood? There is not ork place without blood.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

That statue is sooooo awesome, what a great idea! I think you should base it in a crater and have it leaning slightly...

Wow that is just awesome stuff! For the Orkiness (or lack thereof) I'm seeing it as an Imperial city that was only recently trashed and now da Boyz are making more "homey". The Grots doing the modifications on the statue is hilarious!

I hope you have opponents that play IG.

I like it. Skalk Bloodaxe got the feeling right: the orky renovations are still under way, but progress is happy and violent (I'm sure). Have you thought about putting iron gobs on the mechanicus skulls (the big ones) on the walls? Even just painting them on like graffiti would be pretty cool, I think.

I like the grots working on the statue a lot! I can't wait to see some battle reports on this terrain!

This is my Shrine of the Ork-uila.This was also painted by my very talented friend and I just got it back. I built the curtain rods and used some checker board fabric I found to make the curtains. I rubbed rusted tools against the fabric to weather it. I espeacialy like the human heads nailed to either side of the door. Sorry about so many pictures but there is so much to look at.

Hope you enjoy it

My next update will be a city canal I made using some foam board, masonite, some battle field accesories barrels, and water effects. I have about 6 stright 12" pieces, two 4" 45 degree turns, and two 4" dead ends.

I made these from the tutorial in the GW "how to make wargamming terrain" book.

@commander cain, The rust is awsome. I believe it is a combination of stippling beastial and vermin brown with the addition of Mig weathering powders.

@General Chaos, Thank you I have lots more to show. Something should be finished soon as I always have some sort of terrain in different stages of completion on my work bench.

This is a great use of all the extra ork glyphs everyone has hanging around. I especially like the way the grots are defiling the SM statue.

Good stuff.

The statue is great.

One nitpick: The teef/dags you have attached to all the structures need a rivet or two added to the to show how they are attached tot eh building. Right now they sort of give the impression that they are "floating".

Take a look at the plastic glyph plates and notice the rivets; your dags need this as well...

Here is a work in progress of a Billboard I'm working on. It holds a good amount of models from a good vantage point and could block LOS for a valkerie. I havent based it yet (not quite sure how I want to and am open to suggestions). I used some floor tiles, lights, ladder, and butresses from the sanctum building set and the rest is plasticard (the most I've used for a structure to date).

I was going to use these posters and spray waaagh! over it but after looking at it they look a little bland. Any suggestions?

Next up some city parks inspired by Panics tutorial. I'm not sure how to tie them in to my theam yet. I was thining the one with the foutain I could add grot huts made out of sheet metal and the one with four trees (I still have to paint one ) I would add sporing ork fungus every where (again any suggestions are welcome). The foutain is Pegasus hobbies I think.

@CT gamer, I thought the same thing after I had my first building painted but I was lazy and I just wanted them to look uniform after that. I guess they are welded on . Dualy noted though.

My next update is some terrain for detail. I built these from the "how to build terrain" book. I had built some eairlier for my FLGS but they fell apart and I used what I learned to make the MKII version (sturdier with shinier fence), I also added the signs "entry forbidden" & barbed wire.

Also I'll post some craters I painted up in CoD colors. I tried to make it look as if the asphault blew away to expose earth with scorch marks from the blast. Let me know how I did

Thanks again for looking.
