That would be epic... but i thought the custodes were all on Terra? And didn't they forfeit their armour or something as the Emperor was technically dead?

Custodes swore off armour when the emperor was interred. They won't wear it till he returns I believe.

However you ARE allowed to re-fluff and re-use SCs so I dont' see the problem really.

Well you just field a pre-heresy or heresy era army, when they did wear armour, they did leave Terra and ride on jetbikes.

willydstyle wrote:As long as they're using legal rules and WYSIWYG models, why should one care so much how their opponent's army is painted, or how they decide to fluff it?

If someone has gone to the lengths of writing fluff, why can't they actually set it in 40K as presented. People care about fluff because they care about 40K and the hobby.

Custodes wear a primitive version of Power armor, and rarely a complete suit. But they basically are grey knights if rules for them are ever made.

I'm sure if something came near Terra, the Custodes would put on their armor and go kick the gak out of it.

Thats the plan

During the Great Crusade the Custodes traveled the galaxy supporting other elements of the Imperial Army and carrying out special missions for the Emperor. With the warp being what it is, I don't see why a group of Custodes can't turn up beyond somewhere else in the 41st millenium...

Thats the boiled down version of my fluff anyway... you take it and I will eat you.

As I understood it, Custodes armor is more like artificer armor.

They do have acess to Terminator armor, and their normal armor is said to be ornate and ancient, so it could be artificer armor. They however seem to have little in actual covering.

From Lexicanum: "The uniforms of the Custodians are traditional but effective: boots, leather breeches and long black cloaks. Their torsos are naked and corded with tattooed muscle. Their tall, brazen helmets, ominous and all-enclosing, give them a threatening and impersonal appearance; ancient and ornate, the helmets incorporate advanced protective equipment and communicators."

It seems they only have the upper section of armor, with their lower section being protected by lesser materials.

Chaos has a viable option: MALAL MAHREENS!

Chaos god of anti-chaos essentially. Change the wording on some abilities and it is viable, even if it makes fluff bunnies cry.

As said before:

pre-heresy and heresy custodes had access to some of the finest terminator armour and power/artificer armour, the difference is that from the pictures the custodes' power armour is more like sisters of battle power armour in that it is not enclosed. So all you have to do is say that you are using the GK list to represent custodes from that time.
