For the Guardian i used Adeptus Battlegrey, washed with badab black, drybrushed battlegrey again, drybrushed codex grey.

Wood was scorched brown drybrushed graveyard earth

Twine was scorched brown highlighted with dheneb stone

The green was mixes of goblin green and golden yellow, but i would change it if i were to do it again to the method on Megalith and the Woldwarden. (In 2nd post below Megalith)

Hope that helps and good luck on your dio!

Thanks mate.

I would have to agree with most of that.

Except I will be using Vallejo Model Colour 'Chocolat' for the base instead of Scorched on the wood. It gives a more natural look.

Perhaps for the runes/OSL you could begin with Gobling Green > Scorpion Green (more limey) > Golden Yellow

Hope this also helps.

Wow these are looking really cool.
That Woldwarden looks scary, thats one construct I wouldn't like to meet on a dark night.
Although my favourite is the Stone Keeper (such a nice model- in a Star Wars Emperor kinda way) got to get myself one!

A quick query though, where do you get the designs for the rims of the bases (apologies if you said and I missed it). I want to do something similar myself, and am kinda hoping its in Forces of Hordes Circle.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Superspud, thanks! Its kind of an amalgamation of the armour designs on the models, the swirly patternson the Wold stone and some of the pics in the book. Theres definitely good inspiration in the Circle book, if not exact things you can copy.

Im gonna organise a Warmahordes tourney for my Local gaming club in June some time, so i will start painting the rest up and possibly show some new models soon.

Stay tuned!

Ohh, I REALLY like the blue OSL you did on the druids and Wold Warden. Between that and the really nice runes for demarking the facings, I am finding lots to steal!

Any more recent pics?

Hey guys,

Just moved to Bristol and have seen a resurgence in my Hordes interest, so i figured i should probably update my own thread...

Cant wait for Domination to come out, the Celestial Fulcrum is the shiz, and eBaldur should be a nice change hopefully.

So heres the stuff ive had for a while but not shown off. In picture order, its Krueger + Druid UA + Blackclad Wayfarer, Sentry stone + Mannikins + Woldwyrd, Reeves + UAs. (Note theyre all WIPs )

Thanks for looking, should be recording some batreps soon, as im starting to play regularly again, so keep it locked

Hey guys,

@Metsuri: Cheers!

@neil: Thankyou, i agree we dont see nearly enough alternative stuff on this forum...

Figured i should probably post again, given that i have a 35pt Steamroller coming up on the 11th of December that i have done nothing for yet... :/

Heres what i have fully painted so far, not too much but i have a lot of stuff that i never bothered to finish off!

Also bought some Rackham models in a protest at the HORRENDOUS Feral Warpwolf and Gorax models. Thanks to Wehrkind for the great tip on the Rackham Wolfen

Here's the Gorax, snipped off the axe, and that's enough imo:

And what i will be using as a Warpwolf Stalker. The greatsword is coming along nicely, just a mask to do after that. (+ gap filling)

Here's a size comparison as well, just in case you didnt know how huge this model is!

Thanks for looking,

Vitruvian

Nice to see your painted figs along with the replacements from Rackham.

Wehrkind made me register to ebay too and now I've been completing my Drune collection, which was half complete from my time playing the confrontation. Now I have urge to paint them as a project for next year, they are such nice models still after half a decade has passed. So look forward for some cannibal barbarian action in the spring

Looking forward on seeing the wolves painted...

I've actually been surprised how easy it has been to get some the cool looking Drune figs I've been missing. I have purchased the Drune minotaur and cavalry models within couple of weeks and both at really reasonable price in mint condition. It seems that at least for Drunes some of the older figs like the Formor Fiends 1 are harder to find than the later published cool figs.

Looking at those figs just makes me sad about the way they ran the company down.

Sweet looking models man! Nice use of the stand in Gorax, though I find I really like the resculpted one. The original was just straight up pewter colored poo, but I like how mine came out.

The stalker though... holy crap! That is fantastic! Though the fighter in me can't help but think "That pommel would be really hard to work around!" Still, that sword is great, and it is going to rock on the table. Goddamn, it is so HUGE!

If you guys are looking for some random Rackham models, shoot me a PM. I have a few duplicates here and there, and a few stores in the area still have some on the shelves.

I was gonna blatantly steal your rackham model to use as a feral, but i have the metal pureblood on order and i like the look of the new plastic feral (stalker is meh and pureblood metal was awesome so no need to change it really) so i think im good. Thanks for the offer though, will bear it in mind in the future!

Cheers, i like the little wolf. I still think the re-sculpt gorax is kak. The pommel is in no way a good idea, but it looked sort of like orboros symbology so it had to go on! He still needs a gs mask, and after seeing your wolf i think some gs fur would b in order as well. It is indeed a huuuuuge model!

Looks good Vit, I've been interested in getting into another system for a while now. Whats Hoards play like? I love the models for both Warmachine and Hoards, but everyone plays WM so I lost interest lols.

Lol didnt expect this blog to get dredged up!

@childe: Hordes is really pretty much the same as wm, there are slight differences but no more than how different armies have diff special rules like in 40k. Dont forget you can play hordes armies against warmachine. The rules are fully compatible.

@phranq: Ta! Appreciate the comment.

I'll come back to the hordes at full steam when my exams are finished (in july)

woot glad to hear it! I'm looking at legion of everblight out of the factions tbh, it''s either them or cryx from WM. Personally I like the look of Everblight largely because of the throne, as that model looks gorgeous!

ARISE THREAD!!!

I finally found the inspiration/motivation to do some modelling, and lo and behold, it was the circle which caught my eye.

Most of it is to do with the new Circle Gargantuan sighting, and the news of the upcoming 2 player battlebox set, which i am hyped for!!

So i finished off the stalker last night, enjoy!

Also, this will probably become my skirmish games thread, as i intend to get a mali crew and my Yu Jing are calling to me something fierce at the moment.

Stay tuned!
