But no. Lucas would rather continue killing the dead horse that is the Star Wars franchise.
EDIT: Another Mech Warrior, but supposedly someone's making one. I just hope it's more Mech Warrior and less Mech Assault.
I loved Gladius. Especially once you got the skeleton gladiators and the skelly mage. I only ever beat it as the girl, the Imperial start was too hard. (I used the Action Replay a bit, but what'll ya do )

Compared to something like the Dungeons and Dragons Forgoten Realms maps the warhammer world is tiny and setting games in small areas of it has worked in the past for RPGs. Baldurs Gate, Never Winter Nights etc.
Baldurs Gate 3 incedently would be my choice.
How is Warhammer small?

Star Wars Battlefront 2. PLEASE!!!!! I would rather have a awesome looking Star wars battle front 3 with good graphics and good AI than pretty much any game I could possibly think of. I would probably trade at least half of the games I own for battlefront 3. Automatically Appended Next Post: Lord-Loss wrote:Halo Reach.

There is a sequel to Halo: Reach. It's called Halo: Combat Evolved.

As compared to the infinite layers of the abyss? The unending mountains of Celestia? The never-ending cogwheel cities of Mechanus? The bottomless, windswept caverns of Pandemonium? And that's just four of the sixteen alignment oriented planes, there's also about that many elemental planes, the outlands, Sigil... I could go on forever with all of the un-ending sourcebooks for various realms and planes within DnD. And most of these are pretty much infinite in size.

Another Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.
Also, an old Sega Saturn game, Guardian Heroes. Not so much as a sequel, but a remake.

They're worn out. They're not fresh. The whole Judeo-Christian Heaven and Hell concept has been done to death in video games.

How is D&D Judeo-Christian other than a few borrowed names?
While I'll give you Baator and Mount Celestia, the rest are pretty creative.

I always thought that DnD had an extremely creative approach to the hells and the heavens having different layers ruled by different beings with their own politics and quirks. I played a campaign where we traveled through the nine hells and it was very interesting. I have never seen anyone develop that much information about hell and heaven. Yes, they are polar opposites, much like christian beliefs, but that really is where the similarities end. Automatically Appended Next Post: I would like to see a new version of Ogre Battle 64! Man that game is so amazingly addictive. It just has so much content, so much flavor. I love it, so much that, when I could no longer find it for sale, I got my hands on an emulator...and it is the only game I play on it ahahaha. New graphics, more levels maybe, more characters etc etc. Maybe a slightly modified combat system. (it is a group, turn based tactical system).

It's also worth pointing out that DnD existed before video games were sophisticated enough to have anything that could really be called a plot so it shouldn't really be that odd that a concept that's existed for 2000 years has been done to death in just about all media forms. DnD doesn't really revolve around a heaven hell concept anyway. It's a little more expansive than that.

A new Mechcommander while we're at it.

I'd love a:
Warhammer: Mark of Chaos 2 - Perhaps made by different guys. Concept was sound; lack of customisation, balance and re-playability killed it. If you can fix those then you're good.
Chromehounds - Awesome game online; sucky offline. Lack of support for it killed off our squad online and Single-Player is not only tedious and boring, but also completely pointless.
Battlefront 3 - The first two were great games, a third could only get better or be a complete flop and mark the true end of the series instead of leaving it hanging on a good game.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Games that need sequels
My list is very short, I usually am happier for games to end than continue to a new volume.
Thief 3 - With Garrett's apprentice as the main character.
Anachronox - Just as it left off.
Risen - Just as it left off
Mech Commander 2 - New campaign.
Games that require remakes, not sequels, not for any fault of the original other than age.
Master of Magic - I am suprised noone has done one, its still the best in genre.
Darklands - Gem of a game suffering for being rather old.
|
n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. |
