I don't think the list gets all the credit.

It was a great fight! Blake's army is pretty BADA$$ and he played it well. He would have to, to have beat all the great players he did to win! He represented the Greenville area well. Maybe he can repeat next time and get his name on the Trophy again! Maybe someone can knock him off next time. We'll see!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I'll get the pics and results up the next day or two. Big grats to all the winners.

Grand Champion: Alan Blakeborough
Runner-Up: Brian Delgado
Player's Choice: Darin Brown
Favorite Opponent: Horton Doughton

I'll announce the date of the next event soon. Will try and get another event in March and definitely one in April.

The tournament was great. The missions were new and very challenging. Table one did not work to my advantage at all. My speeders die quickly every game because there was nothing to hide them behind. There was line of site on the entire board, nothing to hide behind. I would have liked to played on one of the boards so I would have to weather all the shooting before getting into cc.
I am very thankful that none of my match ups were guard or the new dark eldar venom list. These would have eaten me alive. Charlie I hated that you first game back was against this list and the mission didn't play to your favor. The deathwing on deathwing match up was an awesome game, Mike and I learned how to tweak both of our lists. I know my list will change because he helped me see the light on some units to bring.
Brian Blood Angels did every thing right and I had a round of dice rolling that will forever go down in the record books as providence from the Emperor himself (yes, it was all just a normal brick of dice, they went very cold against Walsh later that night). The talk of the counts as deathwing future was funnier than gak!!
Neil was awesome opponent and I wish we could have gotten to turn 6 and possibly 7. We will have to play another game in Easley over the holidays when your down visiting your family. All the area terrain I was shooting over gave him cover saves on the orks from my frag missles. Oh well onto plan B.

Overall there were a lot of great people who I didn't get to play against. However, I did have 4 great opponents throughout the day. The boards were great. My "island" was defended all day long and in the end I had to lose to Walsh's SW or I would have had to take it home with me right?

Mike and his family did an awesome job with the tournament. I look forward to going up again for another tournament. Well worth the drive. Long live page 5!

Blake: No worries; it is what it is. I definitely got an education against the DW.

Mike: Again, massive kudos for all the hard work and effort you put into this. It definitely shows. Also, I hope there are no big issues if we utilize a modified version of your tourney format down in Fayetteville. It played very well and allows for a variable number of players (we originally had a cap of 16 players, but we will end up with more and the store owner does not want to leave anyone out of a day of gaming).

I'll definitely be coming up for more 40K and possible Warmachine tourneys. Well worth the drive.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Oh definitely Charlie. Feel free. I already talked to Brian about it and he said he talked to Rick. The point is not for one store to have great tournaments. The point is for every store to have great tournaments.

The community definitely deserves it.

I'm looking at my schedule, but I might try to do another event the last week in march. Maybe do that Team Tournament the 2nd week in April.

Blake: I was not trying to say you had unfair advantage by fighting on the same table all day. I just think that in general you should not be allowed to play on the same table twice. Its better variety and makes for different games.

Mike: Great event. I will try and stop by the store a few more times before I go back to school.

Damn now I wished I lived in the NC area.

@Walsh

Does this mean your not going to be playing anymore and instead running tournaments and giving the rest of us a chance to win

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

@THEHOD "Officially" I'm retired from 40k and play Warmachine now. "UN-Officially" Team EndlessGaming will see people at The ATC !

Funny to be friends with someone IRL and still refer to them in the third person LOL.

Horton, I agree with you. I would have loved had a change of scenery as well. The terrain was kick ass though and just got there yesterday from Hawaii.

Damn, now I wish I had been able to go. Next time, I need to make the time for it, judging by the feedback.

You should definitely get the Southern Pines crowd out for this. I know a few who'd really enjoy this new tourney scene.
