Well they have already confirmed Grey Knights in April (Incoming email) and the Stormraven box has a model painted in GK colours on it.
It's not really questionable whether they'll be coming in April and having a Stormraven...

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

I dunno, his head is small proportional to his armor but you have no idea what their actual body looks like.

In all honesty, the Armageddon campaign article and Jervis' musings on campaigns weren't bad. Not great, but at least somewhat interesting.

Man, that SM picture reminds me of that old comic that used to in WD. What the heck was it called? Thud or Crud, something the Barbarian. Tiny little head, big f-ing muscle body.

Edit: It was Thrud the Barbarian! Had to look it up.

Agreed that he was always an entertaining part of the magazine!

Also, people never complain about Tim Burton's proportions in his animations (unless they already were a hater of Tim Burton) but if you look at it, they are ridiculously off but still look in proportion.

Well, cartoons and most animation have very stylized characters. Nobody's looking for realistic proportions in most of them; to see people with eyes and heads as big as they are in most cartoons would be absolutely horrifying in real life. The 40k art tends to be more realistic, so the wonky proportions draw some ire.

Well, the point is how much you can distort proportions and have it still look right. But after looking at the art it is a bit ridiculous.

Was Thrud a missing Primarch?

It can seem to be quite confusing, surely between the bods at GW the scale should be consistent, either draw to the model scale or make the models to the scale of the drawings.

far too many points and still painting...

...Wha?

Thrud was meant to be a play off Conan the Barbarian. Most people only knew Conan as portrayed by Ahnald, rather than the tigery personage Robert E. Howard had always described him as.

That really could be be exactly it. I was thinking that their feet probably end half way down the shin.

I would like to think that GW have an art direction and modelling style guide which governs their artists and sculptors so that figures are produced with consistent proportions and so on (no matter what the proportions are) according to a set of principles and objectives which was worked out over the first 10 years or so of the company's life.

But then I look at their editorial direction and style guide and I wonder.

Indeed, and the fact a certain major plastic boxset release for the Imperial Guard had a heavy bolter attached upside down on the front cover.

I think that's all you need to know about how much effort goes into it.

you know, I was looking at this yesterday with a aim to actually reading it instead of just ridiculing it, and I sort of regret posting this. What if the head is correct? You know that disease, where your head gets enormous?

What if this guy has the grimdark future version of it, where his head is tiny?

He's out there every day, fighting the xeno, killing the mutant, protecting humanity with his tiny head, never once getting a moment's respite or a helmet that fits well, and here we are mocking him. What horrible ingrates we are.
