I always pictured the interior of a Crisis suit to be simular to the control area inside one of those spider-bots in ghost in the shell, kinda cramped but with neural interface equipment...that and my battlesuits have purple shag carpet dashboards and collectable Ethereal bobble-head accesories .

The "leet" suit interpretation looks like it'd break it's pilot's legs, or be horribly cramped.
I always assumed it was something like Escaflowne, where the pilot is completely encased in the torso, with controls that allowed the suit's limbs to mimic the movement of the pilots limbs, while the pilot is suspended so he doesnt accidentally "walk" into the front interior wall of the suit.

But Warlord princeps are always connected to their Titan. Even when their titan is put into dormancy between two missions and their casket is removed from the cockpit of their warlord, the princeps is still connected to the MIU of their engine.
Actually, in titanicus, it is said that it is the reaver and warhound princeps (who don't need to be placed into an aquarium to be connected to their titan) that miss the link with their MIUs and the power of feeling like a titan when they are disconnected between two missions.
Maybe Tau battlesuits pilot miss the power given to them by their machines and the link to their battlesuits when they are not walking on the battlefield?

Yeah I think it was called battlesuit-psychosis, and its sometimes the reason that Montat ( single ) suit units are formed, when a crisis suit pilot begins to suffer from delusions of invincibility and power that his suit has provided. ( maybe its a result of taking little blue people and putting them in 1 ton warmachines that respond like prizefighters, could be kinda addictive, especially in a universe full of big nasty things with claws and teeth .)

I imagine them to look like that:
But yes, after checking, it can't be worn like an actual armour, the pilot's knees are at the suit's waist joints level, so... *crac* Most logical option is the cockpit, like any good mecha. So long for my "pilot showing her face" plan. I might try a crisis suit with windshield, or even just an open cockpit hatch.
Damnnn, so want to start building Tau now :p

thats exactly what the Suit operates like. except the pilot is controlling the machine entirely by thought without motion.

This would mean that the battlesuit pilot could be in foetal position. If he conteols his suit via his thoughts, he doesn't need any space to move around.

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

I thought perhaps like the suit from 'District 9' - it even looks rather like some of the new FW suits (which I am sure is the design direction the new suits will take when GW get round to doing Tau).
