That too. We have enough variant codexes already, plus it wouldnt have any of the horrible shenanigans surrounding the SS/TH thing we had with SM chapters and the two Hunter codexes.

More importantly, this is the first time in a long while I've seen FITZZ post outside of Off-topic!

I think it's clear from this thread that people want the focus to really be on the Traitor Legions - and understandably so. However, I think support for Renegades should still exist within the Codex and Chaos Daemons have their own Codex now, it's highly unlikely - and rightly so - that their Codex would be removed.

I also think that 'restrictions' shouldn't be put in place to a large extent, even to the god-specific Legions, as although you'll get some players loving it, you'll also get players hating it. I mean, it's clear GW is stepping away from forced restrictions (eg.0-1) and I think it'd be more suitable to leave the customisation in the hands of the player. Whilst as a fluff-oriented player myself, I'd rather gain more character for the sake of restrictions (as Fitzz said), I can completely understand it from GW's perspective.

I'm very confident that there will be a plastic dread whenever the CSM Codex gets re-released (admittedly not in the near-future), and in order to help sell such a model, it would also be improved rules-wise.

However, as I said, there's a lot here for me to work with my own CSM fandex (in my signature should you want to look) and I'm pleased to find that I've fulfilled much of the 'desires' here, pretty much all the widely-desired changes at least, barring the dreadclaw. However, some changes will also be made accordingly I think...

I definitely agree with you that Renegade Chapters and the ability to field them should remain,the thing is "Renegade Chapters" and "Mixed Warbands" can be easily built with the current Codex,the same can't be said for Legions.
IMO,an optimal CSM codex would allow for the creation of Renegade Chapters/Mixed Warbands while still having the options for those who wish to field Legion based armies.
As for the existence of the separate Daemon Codex/army...CSM should still have the capability of fielding God specific lesser/greater Demons,perhaps bring them back as HQ/Troops choices for Legion armies..

Might make more sense for Lost and the Damned/Traitors to be a separate codex rather than just being "tacked on" to Codex: CSM.
I know that may be "Blue skying",but it would allow for a Lost & Damned/Traitor Codex with much more depth.

3.5 Eds Rules with 2nd Eds Fluff please.

In the next chaos codex I'd like to see cheaper thousand sons and definitely a spice up in the chaos fluff area.

Some Lost and the Damned please! Rogue inquisitors, insane psykers, traitor guardsmen, mutant warlords, Dark Mechanicus, and so much more!

SC's that represent different legions, like how the SM codex handles other chapters. This seems like a simple way of adding some legion specific customization.

Marked/Aligned daemons fo sho.

The Deldar codex sorta has 3 armies in one: Wych, Kabalite, Haemonculi. I would like to see the same thing done her but instead we'd have CSM Legions, LatD, and Daemons.
