Whatever units you have, CSM have them cooler. There are some nice models in all codecies, but it's hard to find an ugly CSM model.

You don't really support your reason by posting old Elite models vs new (the new Ratlings are pretty cool in my opinion) and a cannon vs a tank

Try posting the new Ratlings or a Battlewagon and say that CSM models are better haha

Especially since the CSM heavy you posted is insanely converted and not the model as is to

I don't think that tank is converted, it's just covered in spikes, which come with every tank model.

OP has only put up IG, can I request seperate Regiments as an option?

Vostroyans are in my opinion the best range of models GW has ever produced.

Dark Eldar. I like Guard better elsewhere, but I hate all the non-Forgeworld infantry models (DKoK at least are about on the same level as the new DE, I haven't really looked at the others). The new DE models were the deciding factor for why I chose to build a DE army over a Guard one.

Vostroyans are models in the Imperial Guard army and are included when choosing the option just like every other IG model so sorry but request denied on the grounds that there really isn't a reason for seperate regiments. if that was the case I would have to put every faction within every army

And I gotta say I am really surprised that the BA don't have any votes

I no longer play Tau but it was the army that got me started. They look so cool.

Eldar are very cool looking also.

I love some of the Daemon models, but then some of them just look terrible, like Fiends of Slaanesh or any of the non-Forgeworld greater Daemon models. All the Khornate daemons but the bloodthirster, all of the Tzeentch daemons except the Greater one, Soul Grinders, and Daemonettes and Seekers all look great; Nurgle Daemons look terrible (how they managed that, I don't know; how do you screw up something that's supposed to look like a walking sack of pus and feces? They're meant to look grotesque, but they just look silly...), Daemon princes are all right, if uninspiring, and the others I covered above.

Eldar - An army where every unit has its own look. It doesnt get boring painting Eldar (to me anyway). This is where armies like space marines fall short as they all look the same to me (unless you have special characters or chaplains).

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

How about the FW berzerkers and plague marines??
In my opinion the Chaos marines take first prize in miniature awesomeness. The Lord, terminators and possessed are 1st class. Of course the cult troops could do with an upgrade (to bring them more in line with the FW ones) and i'm not overly fond of the Obliterators (i made my own).
BA and DE are tide for second place thanks to the sanguinary guard, death company, wyches and Incubi.

Ok so now it's Tau, Deldar and Orks. As a Tau player I can appreciate how the models look (except for the Vespid) since they are very sleek and just work well with all their gear and units and such (I think Firewarriors with Pulse Carbines look bad ass) but I'm surprised they're in the lead.

I'd have to say orks . I love the makeshift, rag-tag, pieced together look of their models. I just love how they look, however I'm not so much a fan of how thy play. That's why I play Tau . Though I do think the Tau look really cool, they would be one of my top choices, and of course that's partialy why I choose them, plus I liked their fluff, tactics, and technology .

I'd say Dark Eldar have an extremely impressive line up of models, but I can't get over how much i like the look of a well painted and well put-to-together XV8

1. Tyranids - ASSUMING you mean this iteration of them. The first run of genestealers and genestealer cultists were pretty awesome. The sinewy killing machines of Space Hulk shoving an ovipositor down your cake hole until you started spitting out spider babies was an unbelievably threatening image. And the weird hybrid bald guys with las guns went a long way to reinforcing that image. Advanced Space Crusade taught us that genestealers were NOT as bad as it got, and the idea of a race was firmly realized.

Until they had an ill-advised redesign. I'm just going to say that the era of the "Screamerfex" and the "Ooga Booga Zoanthrope" should never have happened. For that we lost the great first Zoat sculpts and cultists?

But the new ones... man, they're awesome. Spiky and slithery with big snicker snack talons. I'm putting together a set of raveners now, and even with my subpar modeling skills the damn things OOZE menace.

Top to bottom, the nids win.

- Runner up goes to the Witch Hunters. They have one of the few HQ choices out there with any real sense of personality - the inquisitor and retinue is a great throwback to the original feel of Rogue Trader without the horribly misproportioned minis.

The Sisters themselves are fantastic (and fanatic!) models. I'm kicking myself for returning to the hobby just in time to see those squad sets disappear. I would gladly trade in my marine army for Sisters, just based on the tactical squads and the awesomely flavorful vehicles. And Celestine is just a wonderful miniature... a great centerpiece.

Not a huge fan of the Seraphim, though. For some reason they just don't work. But the heavy support Sisters and the flaggelants are pretty nice.
