And what exactly is wrong with it, dare I ask? It looks fine to me. It's a giant space rat thing that the dark eldar capture and use as their slaves. What would you expect? A skaven rat ogre?

Not in my favourite models but it's not as bad as yo0u all make it out to be. I might get one.

The difference is that the Razorgor is a legitimately awful model. The new Dark Eldar beastie looks absolutely fine. I'm not chomping at the bit to buy one, but it's a perfectly serviceable mini. There's nothing outstandingly wrong with it, and really no reason to make a thread to complain about it.

The Clawed Fiend is a decent piece of artwork, but I just don't think it "fits" with Dark Eldar. Very nice sculpt though, I though it was PP as others have said.

The Razorwing flock is a disappointment, just generic looking hawk things.

The Chymeras are very cool though, I like them.

The succubus is *AWESOME*

The beastmaster is cool, but "meh".

It doesnt appear very GW-ish to me. And the mouth is kinda killing it took (looks a bit goofy for such a dangerous monster). Mostly mood backlash. I'm guessing when people first read about the Clawed Fiend, they imagined something more body-horror-esque. I certainly did, I thought it would be a towering monstrosity with a bunch of razor-tentacles or many bare-naked arms with huge bestial claws.

I don't see any problem with it, it's a perfectly decent model, just because it doesn't fit in with the overall look of an army doesn't mean it's gak, just look at the kroot, they are awesome.

besides... it has 3 nipples, imagine the greenstuff boobs you could put on that, thats reason enough to buy it.

Also, after reading the designer's notes I get now that the Clawed Fiend is suppose to be an alien creature and not a warp-based one, which makes a little more sense. However it still looks like a were-gorilla to me. I'd prefer a few Gorgers as my Clawed Fiends (even if they are more expensive).

Some people are just never, ever happy. You moan when there isn't a model released, and when models do get released and you moan about them anyway. I could understand if it was a justifiably bad model such as that Razorgore thing, but the DE beasts are fine.

If you don't like it don't buy it. No need to make an entire thread about a model that really isn't that bad.

I'm probably going to be labelled an apologist for this post and I don't really care. I just think its a very,very sad state of affairs when the 'cool' thing to do is to hate on everything GW ever does "just 'cause they're GW".

What is ugly here, is the fact this is a metal model along side the other beastmaster models. Why is a horde unit still being produced in metals in 2011? Seriously?

Also, if GW was banking on selling these metal models, why would they release a FAQ that basically neuters the unit? GW should have updated the DE faq AFTER they sold these.

It's ugly as sin, but then it's supposed to be. Dark Eldar themselves have a sleek aesthetic, their beasts are warp entities and savage xenos. The real issue is the insanity of charging that much for the beasts. 100 points of Khymerae would cost upwards of a hundred dollars...

I don't get the love for the Succubus model, though. It's rather cluttered and mediocre next to the basic wyches... Of course, most of the metal models they've put out for DE are worse than the rest of the line...

Otherwise, it's not a bad model. I just dislike that it can be called a giant monkey with Slaanesh Fiend tail.

I do like how they gave it a "skull" thing so its design meshes in with the beast master and Kymerae.
