Very interested in the fleshing-out of corsairs. As far as the rules go, (and they are still experimental) I wonder if they mean that 1 squadron may be taken as a troops choice, or you may take up to 6 squadrons, as troops choices. Apart from that it's just a war walker on crack. When they released the hornet, which is a vyper on crack, I was glad. Vypers need the upgrade. War walkers don't seem to need a big a boost as this is.

Not sure I understand why they can get a 24" jump move, but I do like the Deep Strike option. Points-wise, the weapons seem a bit high, but in line with the rest of the Eldar codex (IE: over priced weapon options).
All in all, I like it, but will wait until the final rules are released before making any purchases.

They are actually a minimum base cost of 55pts since you must take 2 guns. Typical cost will be 75pts per most likely though, and guide isn't a absolute must for these since they are BS4.
1410pts for:
4x 3 Wasps w/ Dual Scatter Lasers
3x 3 War Walkers w/ Dual Scatter lasers could be a giggle and leaves enough room for a skeleton crew on the last two scoring troops and guider HQs
168 str 6 shots with 36" range *rolls on floor laughing*
Eeeeeeeeeeeeexactly!
Too bad they don't score. But tabling most things would not be hard with that layout. Heck, pull two of the Wasp squads out and use the points for some Snakes on a Plane, and you'll toast anything out there in two turns. True, probably- but FW don't really care about list balance. And what little they do care for, they seem to try to balance between heir own inferior lists (like Renegades vs. Krieg) rather than against regular 40K codices.
And it's nice to see that FW do design some things just because they are a cool idea.
Anyways, pretty easy to kitbash if you're not able to afford the FW kit. So's the Hornet actually- I'm making one out of a new-style Prism turret right now. There's enough bitz left to make an old-style Prism too, if you have an old Falcon turret laying around.

Just because you have the ability to move towards the opponent at great speed doesn't mean you always have to move in that direction.

You can do this now for 1170. Sure, you only get 132 shots and half of them are only 12" range (but with a 12" move) and you have to use Warp Spiders to do it, but I've always thought that the list would be fun.

I think it is cool, the Shuriken Cannon and Scatterlaser options are not too many points. Nothing wrong with 30" charge and BS4.
I have been wanting to get some War Walkers but I can never fit them in. So there you go eh.
War Walkers belong in close combat anyway that's why they have two attacks.

It's a war walker with a new canopy right? And they glued a fin and two little nozzles on the back? And if I'm not mistaken they took the wave serpent weapon panels and glued them to the side of the shuriken cannon. Am I missing something? That's like 10% of an upgrade sprue, and there's like 15 posts in this thread to the effect of "This new model forgeworld made rocks!" -> have you guys seen a war walker? Like there's a post on page one where someone muses that this would make a great stand in for a war walker. Yeah it would, because it's a war walker. Falcons also make really good counts-as Falcons. As for the rules, they moved the War Walker to the Troops slot and made it BS4, and added some crap special rule. The Walker's biggest problems were that it took up HS slots that were extremely valuable in an Eldar list, and it was typically too fragile vs how expensive it was and the damage it did. Moving it out of HS is great and Making it BS4 goes a way towards mitigating some of the latter concern but these things could really stand to either have a much cheaper base cost or pay less for most of those weapon upgrades. People like to freak out about how many S6 shots they can put out but most of these are going to be dead before they can do anything.

I don't think anyone is fooled that it is not a warwalker with some add on bits; I think it has a lot to do with the striking new front canopy that looks a lot better than the old Falcon canopy.
I'm pretty excited as I can run a themed army based around this kit, the war walkers and vypers.
Now, if they will sell the canopy separately, ill be really happy.

Interesting...
The model to me looks just like a war walker with a snazzy paint job (aside from a few extras) so that didn't really get me excited.
The BS4 is nice but i don't see the point of the 24" move or the fact they're troops, they can't score anyway becasue they're vehicles. And, as has been mentioned, their base cost is 55 and they're more likely to be costing around 70 with decent firepower.
It's certainly not the best FW eldar release, I think i'll be sticking with regular war walkers for now.
