UK site and not on the US one... probably, they're realizing that who in their right mind can afford to get savage orcs, when the normal counterparts are basically half the price! I wonder if the kits weren't selling, and so they thought raising the prices on the normal version would solve that...?
Will be interesting to see if this is some sort of abberation, or if it follows through for other countries, too. Are they going to go to the trouble of re-boxing the orc regiment with half the sprues to enact this?
The problem is, fantasy requires SO many models, especially in 8th edition with large blocks. If GW isn't careful, they'll turn people off from starting a new army as the books are released, which is the vital hook that makes them swallow the price pill.
I think Aduro's desciption probably is true for many O&G enthusiasts, who have often played the army for several editions... for a "horde" unit that price is just crazy!

And to retroactively do it to the older box is just cruel... and I would think bad business sense in the end, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Couldn't agree more, and I've taken the liberty of highlighting your comment which I feel is the big issue here. Although price increases have occurred previously, this is the first time I have found myself shaking my head at the monitor.
And having 130 components in the box is all well and good, but you can't mount those extra weapon arms and heads on bases. Those new Orc sculpts from Mantic look good enough, and I think many people are going to choose that option for making a new O&G army.
