What's wrong with Transformers 2?

True...but,I wonder if not really being exposed to a greater varity of film styles (Ie growing up with CGI/crashboombang/fastfastfast) affects the average younger movie goers ability to enjoy a "character driven" film.

I go to midnight screenings of "Rocky Horror Picture Show" in a wheelchair, brown suit and a nice plaid blanket

Yes...but midnight showings of RHPS are a more "social situation" type thing..
Would you sit at home by yourself and watch old Harold Lloyd films..?

The real question is would you drive over an hour to see them on a big screen?

True..
Back in the 80s,there was an old movie theatre in New Orleans that would screen "Vintage" films, movies from the 40's and 50's for the most part, but from time to time they'd show silent films as well.
During a James Cagney double feature I met a couple who'd driven from Ms. to be there.

That wouldn't happen to be the Prytania Theater, would it? They did that and show independent and foreign films until sold in the late 90's. I lived across the street from it.

That would be the one...I loved that place.

Incidentally...did you ever go to the Old Town Hall Theatre...they would do double features on the weekends (mostly old 50's B films) and admission was a dollar.

My sister worked there for a time after the new owners decided to show current movies. Got into some stuff for free on preview nights.

I do miss when it showed older, unique, and foreign stuff. Luckily, there's a place in the Springs that does it.

I Really enjoyed the place...seeing old Cagney and Bogart films up on the "Big Screen" was a real joy for me.
