Sure Space Wolves Land Raider Pilot
|
1. What armies do (did) you play?
Currently Space Wolves only since I've just started.
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Well I started off with Ultramarines but they felt too generic, then I saw the space vikings and insta-grabbed.
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
N/A
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
N/A no idea what my play style is yet, I haven't played a game.
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
If I was given a lot moneys worth I'd chose Imperial Guard for sure. I love the idea of playing the everyman basic soldier army. But if I only got a few boxes worth I'd get Eldar because they intrigue the hell out of me, maybe Dark Eldar for the same reason but less so.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Orks, don't like them for some reason, which is odd because I love them and play one as my main in WoW.
7. Your fav. army to play against?
N/A Haven't played against any yet.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
N/A Same reason as 7.

New to the game and limited in experience, but here we go.
1. What armies do (did) you play?
Eldar
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I was in a four-way toss up on which army I should play, going into the game. I read as many articles as I could on GW, and ended up between my love of fluff with Imperial Guard, to the "general" Eldar belief of playing smart and mobile, a Space Marine Army (Let's face it, they're popular for a reason. Raven Guard, Salamanders, White Scars.. yeah), and Orkz because... they're Orkz.
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Wanting to try something new on almost every level, or the near universal Toughness 3 of Eldar finally pushes me over the edge. Twiggy Eldar.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I go for units that I like the premise of, and try to work a strategy to that. Swooping Hawks and Dark Reapers. Still building the army, have my eyes set on Warp Spiders and a lot more Dire Avengers.
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Orkz, without a doubt. Deyz da best. In all seriousness, Kommandos. I like the idea of a mob of "Sneaky" Orkz appearing behind the battle with Snikrot leading a charge of slitting throats and shooting enemise in the back.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Tyranids. As weird as this sounds, they've got no soul or character. It's all a drive of, "Devour every living thing we can find".
7. Your fav. army to play against?
So far? Tau. Orkz get stuck in far too easily with my still-formulating playstyle, and Blood Angels are well.. Blood Angels.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
Blood Angels. Deep strike? Okay. Assaulting? Okay. Well, my armies gone.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Orks
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Cause green is best? I started playing fantasy orcs on the suggestion of my Munchkin of a brother (turns out he wanted more targets for his wood elf archers) When they moved on to 40k, i followed, and stayed green.
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
everyone i played with quit fantasy, not much point in trying to continue playing without opponents.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
right now, my "style" is, in true orky fashion, get in their face, or hit them with the dakka!
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
IG, probably. they are the only other army i can use without having to paint everything the same scheme.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Eldar. to much thinking involved.
7. Your fav. army to play against?
Guard.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
Eldar.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
2nd Edition: Space Marines and Squats (using the black and white army lists).
3rd-5th: Orks and Chaos, though 90% Orks. I also have a small Crimson Fists force that I mostly got to paint which I have played a couple of games with.
I no longer play 40k, though.
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Space Marines, well I was 14, second edition marine fluff was intriguing, and though I liked Orks more even then, the marine models were much cooler. Squats, because I was completely in love with the background- I had to convert all the models except my squat bikers. Orks, because when the Nelson orks finally came out I was willing to spend the money to make a huge, great looking army of futuristic brutes. Chaos because I liked Nurgle and had a good idea for a cheap way to make a small army, and I was getting tired of Orks.
And Crimson Fists because it is a nice colour scheme and I got marines with AOBR!
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I've quit my first marine army, because it is horribly painted and mish mashed. I also quit Chaos, to clear space because I rarely play them any more. I have technically quit orks and crimson fists too, because I don't play any more. I guess I find fantasy projects more compelling. Still love the 40K fluff, but currently not a huge fan of the game.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I don't know that it is. With Orks, I like experimenting with lots of different units, and will often use units I know are a bit weak because I like the models (meganobs). At the same time, I do have "tuned" lists that I try to win with in tournaments, though they tend to be themed, too. I have footslogging orks and trukk rush orks, as well as "elite orks". My crimson fists are really just a collection of models I wanted to paint, so though some of the good stuff is in there (thunderhammers) there are other much weaker units too.
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Tyranids, I think. I love the plastic tyranid models. I'd also be tempted by Daemons though.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Hmmmm. Probably craftworld eldar, I just don't like elves (To play as, I enjoy them as opponents).
7. Your fav. army to play against?
Tough one. Probably Codex Marines. I like almost all armies though.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
None of them, really. Sometimes gimmicky one dimensional armies are frustrating, but I do like a challenge.

1. What armies do (did) you play? Ultramarines (1st), Tyranids, Eldar and CSM 2. Why did you choose those army (ies)? After 4 years of exclusively playing fantasy I got into 40K just after finishing Marine boot camp. I came out and decided instantly that "Marines" would be the best choice. After looking around, I saw many SM players in the Columbus Ohio area (where I'm from) but none of them played Ultramarines, so that helped in the decision. 3. If you quit an army, why did you do that? N/A 4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique? I prefer fast armies. While Eldar are a no-brainer, my SM and CSM armies are pretty bike-heavy. 5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why? To be honest, I'm trying more to paint all the models I already have rather than buy new ones. Still, I like the idea of a traitor guard force for the conversion factor. 6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play? Probably Dark Eldar 7. Your fav. army to play against? Tau 8. What army do you hate playing against? I've never had much luck against Orks and Necrons

Servoarm Flailing Magos
|
1. What armies do (did) you play?
1st Army: Witch Hunters
2nd Army: Space Marines
3rd Army: Eldar
4th Army: Imperial Guard.
Also dabbled in Tau but got rid of them.
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
WH for the irony and the look of the Inquisitor Lord.
Space Marines was more of an accident as I used them as allies to my WH then found out I had a full army.
Eldar was a consieous desicion and I wanted an army with a different style to SM.
Guard was another accident. All my inducted guard and my ISTs could with a couple of purchases make a 1K guard army.
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Eldar I've started selling off. Need the money
Tau is already all gone. Another player at the club was willing and I only bought to make and paint and used them once so no biggy.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
Not very unique. I play what I own. Most of what I own will get used.
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
A ton of ork warbikes wouldn't go amiss. I'd have fun making and playing those.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
There isn't one really. I could get a good idea for an army for all of them. I just don't have the money/want to do anymore right now. Given as many boxes/paints as I wanted I'd make an army for all of the races.
7. Your fav. army to play against?
As long as I get a game I don't care.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
None.

Jinking Ravenwing Land Speeder Pilot
|
1. What armies do (did) you play?
Dark Angels Greenwing thus far. Prepping for Deathwing/Multiwing though.
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Backstory. Reformation Germany and Space Monks!
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Haven't.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I'm unique?
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Guard or Tau
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Daemons. Though it would be my style of pun to put a daemon army next to my study Bible.
7. Your fav. army to play against?
Sisters. Really its more about the guy that plays them than the army itself. Blood Angels are fun to play against as well.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
Wolves. Then again its based off a single experience against a tfg so I don't hate them entirely, just the only army I've left a game without hanging around afterwards for a bit.

Savage Khorne Berserker Biker
|
1. What armies do (did) you play?
Used to: Ultramarines 4th Company
Currently: Orks and CSM (specifically Goffs and World Eaters)
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Orks: I love infantry, I love spamming units, and I love walkers. Orks have all of it on top of humor and a wide capacity for conversion. Thanks to the range of conversions possible for Orks, I've already been able to save myself money
CSM: Marines with an evil flavor. I have always been attracted to Chaos in both WHFB (Warriors of Chaos would be my first army if I played WHFB) and 40k. However, I love berserkers more than anything else when it comes to infantry. If I get the opportunity to play a berserker in an MMO or RPG setting, I immediately pick it without a doubt. Once I read the lore behind World Eaters and saw the capabilities of Khorne Berzerkers, I fell in love almost immediately. Being a die hard Metalhead also tends to attract me to Chaos as well.
World Eaters are my fun army and Orks are my competitive army.
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I quit Ultramarines because they were far too boring for me. In addition, I didn't really like the fact that I would have been called a Smurf even though I enjoy the lore behind 4th Company. I also want to have tactics that involve melee troops, as I've always had the belief that melee will always reign superior if it has the right pilot.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I use the main Adeptus Astartes tactic: Overwhelming force in one particular area, then crack the enemy open. I have an extremely aggressive play style, and it's not uncommon for me to ignore objectives to go straight for the enemy. For fire support, I use larger-than-necessary firepower. Yes, that means I'll use Lootas on infantry if I seriously want them dead.
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Warriors of Chaos in WHFB. See #2 Chaos entry for reasons.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Eldar/Dark Eldar. Space Elves have zero appeal, in addition I hate having fragile units.
7. Your fav. army to play against?
Can't answer as I haven't played enough games to have enough experience.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
Can't answer as I haven't played enough games to have enough experience.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Orks, Necrons and Space Wolves.
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Orks, because they looked like the most fun. I like silliness. By using AoBR models for Boys they were also one of the cheapest to start with.
Necrons, because I wanted an alien army but the only other one I fancied were Tyranids, but I didn't want another swarm army. Plus I really like the background and feel to the Necrons; their lack of emotion is almost is total contrats to the fun Orks I was used to playing.
Space Wolves, because I wanted to try a Space Marine army and the Space wolves looked the most interesting. Plus most of the models are of guys with log hair & beards, I've got the look
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I've not quit one yet, but I'm close to quitting Space Wolves. I just don't have much fun playing them, but I like the models & fluff.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I doubt I'm unique, but I try and play the fluff. Okay, I make up my own fluff for my army; my Orks are Freebooters made up os several clans. I try and make moves based on how the Orks would, so that usually means ignoring cover and charging noisily across the battlefield. Yes, I should "Dakka Dakka!" when I play.
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Tyranids. My first exposure to 40K was Space Hulk (1st Ed.) so I have a fondness for Genestealers.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Probably Tau. I'm not fussed by the models and they the one army I face that bug me. although if I were to play a Chaos army I would probably avoid Nurgle as I don't like the idea of painted all the grossness.
7. Your fav. army to play against?
Necrons or Orks.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
Tau.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Orks mainly. Space Wolves secondarily.
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Orks - Because I wanted something different (at the time), and the models appealed to me alot (Snikrot sealed the deal). Now I cant get enough of the greenskins.
Space Wolves cause I love wolves, vikings and Norse mythology. That Chapter just had those elements in spades.
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Havent so far, and hope I dont.
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
It's not really unique. I just buy what I like the look of, and what I wanna play. I still go with the horde mentality orks go for though.
As for the Wolves, I run heroes cause thats what I picture as most important in a wolf army.
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Descent of Angels themed Blood Angels.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Necrons or Tyranids. An alien menace that's hard to identify with doesnt really suit me.
7. Your fav. army to play against?
Eldar, cause I love krumpin' those pansies.
8. What army do you hate playing against?
Dark Eldar. They're so bloody hard to keep up with.

Guardsman with Flashlight
|
1. I have Imperial Guard, Cadians (not Catachan).
2. I chose Guard because I like the models more than the models in other armies.
3. In the days of yor, I have given up on Orcs (too unpredictable), Tyranids (too many models to paint), Space Marines (too meat and potatoes), Squats (too murdered by GW), .
4. I doubt my list is unique, though, I do have a couple squads of Squats in my army (count as Vets and Platoon Infantry).
5. If someone were to gift me with an army, I would hope for a 100% Kreig army - with plenty of Kreig rough riders. All pre-constructed and primed. And heck, pre-painted too. What the hell.
6. The army models I least prefer are Catachan Guard, Dark Eldar.
