I want to do a sort of mock-interview with many players. I hope many of you will participate. Please answer these questions.

1. What armies do (did) you play?

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

7. Your fav. army to play against?

8. What army do you hate playing against?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
1. I play Tyranids (primary) and Orks (secondary).

2. I chose Tyranids because they are my style. In fantasy, I play Skaven. I like evil things that go against the grain. Tyranids seemed to fit that the best in 40K. I don't regret the choice.

Orks...mostly because I liked trukks and meganobz. I bought some and played. I don't regret that either.

3. I have never quit playing a 40K army. In fantasy, I did.

4. I don't like to use net lists though clearly many of my lists are influenced by them. I go cheap on the upgrades.

5. I would choose Necrons, despite being sucky.

6. Probably Daemons or Space Wolves.

7. MEQ are easy to prepare for. Maybe them.

8. Eldar.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

1. What armies do (did) you play?
I play CSM. I also have IG and Eldar. I am currently selling an Ork army, and have previously sold a Tyranid army and a Vampire Counts army. Also had a small DE army that I gave away.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I liked the models and fluff of CSM. I got the Orks when I split the 2nd edition starter set with my brother - selling them as I don't really like Orks that much and I have too much 40K stuff anyway I got IG as I want to make a themed army as I like the models. I got Eldar as I quite like a lot of the models and wanted something different to paint and play. I got Tyranids as I love the Lictor and Genestealer models (also had lots of genestealers from the old Space Hulk sets) - sold them as at the time I had no space for them and the new 'nid codex had rendered my army to be pretty rubbish. Got my Vampire Counts when I bought my wife some Wood Elves to paint. Sold them when I wanted to buy IG.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I don't enjoy them any more, the rules change, I need more space... lots of reasons

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
Because I have no idea how to play?

I seem to be pretty unique in liking to play Chaos Raptors. My IG will generally be run as a gunline, which most people seem to have moved away from in 5th edition, though I have lots of tanks for Apoc. Not sure about my Eldar, but I was planning on running a mostly foot based list with harlies and banshees.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
A tough choice. If I could start again I would probably go for either CSM or IG. If I had to pick a new army... not sure. Possibly Warriors of Choas? Those guys look pretty cool. Or a small army of SM - I want at least one each of all the fun special units and models they can get. Don't really care for them as an army to play though.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Probably Space Marines. Though Grey Knights are up there as well.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Don't really mind.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Mech vet guard. Too many heavy and special weapons.

The Faye

1. What armies do (did) you play?
I play Daemons, Eldar, Space Marines, Tau, Tyranids and Necron

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I got back into the Hobby about 4/5 years ago and using Tau as their tanks looked very nice and the seemed easy to paint so that's what restarted my hobby.

I then decided to do a Beil-Tan Eldar army as it would force me to try and paint better than I am currently. Plus it gave me a good fluffy excuse to use Aspect warriors. They were also my first army back in the 90s and I felt I should give them another chance

I then did Daemons with the thinking of using them in 40K and fantasy. I ended up really liking them and the army grew to a huge size and lots of fun with conversions.

I then went on to necron because I liked the look of them and thought that too many where the standard colour scheme so I painted mine purple.

Then more recently I built my Tyranid list on a whim. Still not made much progress here.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
You could say that I quit Necron, I still like painting them up but they're not a viable gaming army. Too old now so they're not in use

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
My style of play is to have a close game I don't take hard lists unless its at a tournament with a Prize. I tend to just go for units I like. Then add an army around them.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
If I had free models to start a new army it would be grey knights. I've read the novels and seen their new pictures and they are very good looking. I've already planed out a new colour scheme I'd like to try so now I'm just waiting on April.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

I don't really have an army I wouldn't play. Maybe if a Grey Knight player wanted to play my Daemons I wouldn't bother.
7. Your fav. army to play against?

I played a lot of Imperial Guard armies recently and I thought they were pretty good.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
I would say that MAE really, i think they're fairly dull. I hate Terminators with Storm Sheilds mainly, I just can't deal with it..

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
The imperial Guard. I'm also starting a Necron Army.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I feel like the Imperium of man are figures I can relate too. Whether or not you agree with the Philosophy of the Imperium and its xenophobic agenda, the Imperial Guard is full of men and women who fight because they have to. Some relish in the glory of battle, other just want to live long enough to go home, but ultimately, they are men and women just the same as you and I. Only with lasguns, which is cool as hell.

And I'm starting Necrons because seriously, who doesn't love immortal yet unliving robots?

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

I just got started in this hobby about 6 months ago. I think I'll stick with it a while.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

My style of play consists of making a lot of mistakes and dumb luck.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
I'd probably start a Necron army. The models are just really great, and even with a horribly outdated codex, they're still pretty darn good. Either that or Sister of Battle. I absolutely love the SOB models, from the Fluer de le Rhinos to the foot soldiers with bolters, every model in that army is gorgeous.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Probably Blood Angels. I don't like the fluff, I don't like the models, I don't like the play style.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
I really enjoy playing against Chaos. Maybe that's because I've beaten them every time I've played against them, but I really enjoy the actual "Epic stuggle against the forces of Chaos and madness." Plus chaos allows for such varied customization of models. The modeling and painting skills of most Chaos players are so far above my own, it's staggering. Also SOB, because if you're spending $5 per model, you going to make them look as good as possible. Really anyone who takes the time to field a fully painted army is a pleasure to play against.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Again, Blood Angels, but admittedly, I haven't played against Nids, Orcs, or either Eldar.

Arlington TX, but want to be back in Seattle WA

1. I play Blood Angels. Im also in the process of collecting and painting an Eldar, IG, and nilla Marines army's as well.

2. I chose the Blood Angels because they were my first love and the cause for attracting me to this game. Once I saw their beautiful red armor...back in 1998, I was hooked!

3. Ive only started playing this year but have been a collector for more than 10 yrs. Id say I stopped because of either painting complications, expense, or realized that there wasnt much of a point to paint if im not playing

4. I dont use the Blood Angels in the conventional way as most do (assault troop heavy)

5. Well, the next army on my list is the Dark Eldar. I eventually want 7 army's, right now I have 4. They are unlike anything in the 40k universe (I guess you could say that about them all though ) ,I love their ships and the gang/cult/pirate thing they have going on. Im a fan of the Pirates of the Carribbean, so this army appeals to me

6. hmm...probably necrons. They just seem lame to me... also anyone can drybrush an army boltgun metal, wheres the fun in that?

7. Ive only played against other space marines, so I dont have a preference.....anything I cant route!

8. See question 7

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Eldar, based on the Iyanden craftword but wraithguard are insanely expensive so i only have a few ($25AUD is nuts!)

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
i chose eldar based on the fact they looked cool. as time past i learnt more about the fluff and then when a friend gave me Prince Yriel as a present i decide that i would play Iyanden. its weird cause now i cant think of myself playing a different eldar army

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
havent so far

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
i use wraithguard if that counts, but mostly i play for fun and i base my lists on fluff. that and insane amounts of luck (both good and bad)

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
a small blood ravens army of about 1000pts. or a Vostroyan Firstborn Tank Regiment purely because vostroyans are epic and tanks are too. (its all for the fluff)

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Orks. i like them but i dont like think id enjoy playing a horde army

7. Your fav. army to play against?
no real favourite just an army that has a story to it

8. What army do you hate playing against?
any power gamy army. i dont care what fluff you come up with but having 11 dreads in your army is not fun, nor is filling your FOC with fire dragons and fire prisms or having Mephiston and the Sangwhatsinator in a 750pt list

(edited for spellings)

1. What armies do (did) you play?
I play Space Marines, and the occasional borrowed Eldar or Tau army, I used to play Orks and IG.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I like the Space Marines. They are a very balanced Codex. Very suitable to bringing whatever I want to the table instead of needing a minmaxed army build to be successful.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I quit Orks and IG because I don't spend a lot of money or time on figures, and in order to make a good army list, I would need a lot of them. I don't enjoy painting I just do it to get my figures halfway decent looking for a tabletop, and the prospect of painting a hundred figures or more figures before I could play a game would bother me.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I have no interest in competative army build efficiency, and use a lot of lists that are not cookie cutter efficient. This is pretty easy to get away with in the SM Codex. I take a lot of risks and unlikely shots when I play too. My answer to everything is 'just keep shooting it', and I don't worry about bad odds of success. I am a demon lord, 6's come naturally to me. I use Legion of the Damned, standard Land Raider, Chapter Master, Vanguards, and few or no assault terminators. As far as I have seen, I am the ONLY SM player who ever bothers with those un-loved units, and doesn't rely on TH/SS.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Chaos Space Marines. I started playing SM because is fun to pretend to be a good guy, and they were asy to collect. Their Chaos counterparts seem more natural to my nature though. Chaos is more malleable in its rationale for existing.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
I have no interest in Tyranids or Daemons. All of the other armies have a sort of human-like psychology to which I can somewhat relate. Besides, something as chaotic as a horde of gibbering warp creatures should not have any kind of standardization by its very nature, making the idea of 'squads' of identicle daemons co-ordinating kind of silly. I hate bugs too and think Tyranid paint schemes are all just stupid looking.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
I like matchups against traditional SM enemies; Xenos and Chaos. This is not for any list matchup reasons, but for the fluff reason that I (should, if in character) believe my Marines are absolute loyalists and servants of humanity defending against real outside threats, not arbiters of petty civil wars.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
I hate playing against Blood Angels because I resent their Codex being just a flashier version of my own with more flexible FOC options. I do not like playing against SW because their codex is so broken it hurts, but I resent the BA more because they are so similar to my own, just have an edge in the things that matter, with no downside.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Blood Angels and Tau

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I just loved the idea of the blood angels, when I first started about 2-3 months before they came out I was playing vanilla marines and wanted to try a more close combat army but didn't like the wolves (and didn't know about the Templar yet) so when they dropped I picked them up and have love the flavor and style of the BA.

Tau because after playing marines against other marines, more marines, MORE marines and the sisters and daemon hunters... and then IG I got real sick and tired of 3+ elite armies and fighting the Imperium, so I wanted to pick up a less elite army that was different from my crazy close combat army and they fit the bill.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Never have

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I like fire warriors, I realize that they're 10 points for very squishy troops that can't really upgrade but they have easily the best standard infantry rifle in the game.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
More Tau since I just started them? Maybe Nids

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Space wolves, Space barbarians don't really interest me, and I don't really like playing the super powerful armies, it takes away a lot of the strategy of the game (I know I play the angels, I didn't know they were strong when I bought them)

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Nids! they're unique, no vehicles, MCs, really cool units and fun specialized units like Venomthropes.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
IG, maybe it's because one of the main armies I fight is the IG and always played mech, but it A) always just feels like the odds are stacked against you when there's 15 vehicles on the field in a 1850 list and then each of those has vets with plasma and orders to twin like them! YAY!

and B ) They also just feel like watered down marines and I believe I expressed above that I kinda got tired of fighting marines

1. Space Marine (OF every 5 th ed kind), Tau, Nids

2.I like space marine, my 40K introduction is from a space marine point of view anyway, they also have nice kits, I like mechas, hence Tau, as for Nids variation of the space marine models but i want something close enough but not just spike marines, Hence my all warrior army

3.haven't quit anything, well my space marine is stagnant, they are losing development over my Space wolves and BA, I also have a bunch of CSM thousand sons that i only collect

4.Small elite gimmicky troops, I like HQ that give me rules to wreck FOC. Logan, Dante, Farsight are all welcome in my book, i also take minimum troop squad to the amount of objectives

5.Krieg, is that okay? I mean it's forgeworld, just 750 points would be nice. Eldar(Ilyaden/Biel Tan) or Dark Eldar(Kabal) would be fine too

6.I think Ork, i don't like the aesthetics , I like being tidy , and my army look somewhat organized and not ramshackle

7.Orks, Nids, hell any Horde CC armies, it feels suitably epic

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Imperial Guard presently, started 40k with a small Tau army.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I picked Tau first because of the aesthetics, particularly their tanks. I still don't like the look of their suits though oddly enough. I then switched to Guard because the Imperial gothic aesthetics grew on my and I love tanks.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I quit Tau not long after picking them up. Though I won a few of my first few games, I had a hard time developing a cohesive list. Basically I failed to really understand how to play Tau and only ended up being frustrated with my lists that performed only adequately or subpar. That and I fell in love with the IG.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
Nothing I do is particularly unique. I love tanks and mechanized formations so my first IG list was five chimeras with vets and upwards of seven leman russes. I play foot guard now too, where I experiment more freely with my lists.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Hmmm...I've always been tempted to start a spehss mehreen army, but I can't bring myself to play a MEQ army. I would more than likely start Eldar, a solid mechanized Eldar army.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Kinda tough, but I think I'll settle on Necrons. I don't like the models, the codex is very outdated, I dislike the fluff and generally, they do nothing for me.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Anything that isn't spehss mehreens, specifically blud angles. For a favorite...Eldar have always been a fun/interesting match.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Gah, blud angles, hands down. They comprise a full quarter of the regulars at my FLGS, and...just...cheese. Bleh. Other spehss mehreen armies are also right after the red ones.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Tau and BA
2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Tau were my first army, I chose them because I was a n00b that thought they could wreck any army in a shoot-off. I started playing vanilla marines, but when I looked through the BA codex, I decided to switch to BA.
3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
If I quit an army, it would have been because it was completely nurfed and not even worth trying to play. (i.e. etherials became a 1+ choice in the new tau codex )
4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
It isn't unique!
5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
I would choose Space Wolves probably, as they interest me as much as the BA did.
6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Eldar
8. What army do you hate playing against?

1. What armies do (did) you play?
I play Eldar and Chaos Space Marines. I used to play Tau Empire.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I chose CSM because I found the Iron Warrior Chapter interesting, I like its connections with the Dark Mechanicus and it's heavy weapons.
Why I started Eldar I can't really remember, it was quite a long time ago.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I quit Tau, partially because I was terribly unsatisfied with how I had painted them, but also they were really bad in CC and pretty much everything they could do, Eldar could do better...

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I like to fill up my Heavy Support slots first. After that I take various units I find interesting, but I always take all three possible HS slots.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Hmm... I think it would be the new Grey Knights or Dark Eldar. The Grey Knights with the Dreadknight seems like they have a lot of new fun stuff, and I have always liked the GKTs.
The new Dark Eldar are all really amazing models, and I would love to buy a FW Void Dragon Phoenix as a Voidraven Bomber.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Daemons or Tyranids, I think. Daemons seems to have some fairly fun options, and I like the models, but not their playstyle. Tyranids just seem boring to paint, with everything looking the same.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Orks, maybe. It's hard to tell, as I haven't played againts all armies, but the Ork army do have a lot of humour implanted.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Imperial Guard. Or more exactly, guardsmen squads winding up, getting a 4+ cover save.

1) I do play Orks. I used to play C:SM

2) I chose Orks because they were the polar opposite of Space Marines. I also suit their playstyle a lot more and have done a lot better in games since I started my Ork army.

3) I quit C:SM because my Vulkan flame spam list attracted a lot of 'hatred for cheese' at my LGS. I was also not serious enough, for example I painted a smiley on the front of my Vindi

4) I take at least 60 boyz regardless of point limit. Then I add KFF mek(s). Then I fill FA with warbuggies, then HS with killa kanz. Basically I get as many vechiles onto the table as possible. Not transports though, I'm not a fan of them.

5) I would probably start an LOTR army to be honest. When the new movie comes out, the assissant at my LGS said there would be an update, with new models and/or factions. I would then collect a Dale army, because Dale is just liquid awesomeness.

6) I would not collect Grey Knights, because judging by the current codex rumours, doing so would make me very unpopular. I am not a WAAC gamer, 40K is a game, and hell yes I'm going to fill the field will boyz and buggies... because that is what Orks are! Grey Knights are OP, their fluff is atrocious and any gamer that actually wants to enjoy the game (as opposed to become an outcast from society) should steer clear of them. If you plan to play GK, then that's ok, but treat the fluff as funny, and play lists that fit your army! I'm not saying that I'd ragequit if you played me, but the boyz wouldn't have such a good time.

7) Definitley another footslogger Ork army. The scale of the combats and the casual Orkish attitude makes for a great game.

8) The last army... would be a BA army. I enjoy killing blood angels, but that rarely happens in games against them. Even Ghazgkull can't deal with Mephy :(

Any more details on what you're working on? We're all curious.

1) I play Eldar.

2) I chose Eldar a long time ago. I don't really remember why I first chose them. Most likely because I like the sleek look. I've stuck with them because I'm very successful with them and I like how specialized they are.

3) I've never quit an army.

4) I usually play with a ton of Guardians and heavy weapons everywhere. My army is very gunline Eldar.

5) Sisters! Because I've never actually played in a game that involved Sisters of Battle. I think they're a cool concept and would enjoy seeing them in action.

6) Ummm... this is a tough one. Probably Tau. Tau are very similar to my gunline guardian army, and I don't think it'd provide enough variety for me to switch over.

7) Orks! I love the Orks fluff, and I like the fact that my shooting completely dwarfs mine, but their CC destroys me with ease. It provides a great challenge and I like the image of the huge monstrous horde trying to swarm over the entrenched soldier but being mowed down. Can they overwhelm the position before they are all shot to pieces? Let's find out...

8) I don't hate playing against any army. I enjoy a good challenge, so difficulty isn't an issue. If I had to pick one, I'd say Space Marines, just because I've played against so many SM armies...

1. What armies do (did) you play?

I play Blood Angels and Orks.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

I started off about 6 years ago when I was real young, and being so I chose space marines because of their looks. Years later, I started an ork army. I loved the look, backround, models, and all the creativity you could do with orks. When the new Blood Angels came out, I converted my Space Marine army since they fit my play style better.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

I don't really play orks anymore. The more my army grew, the higher point games me and my friends would play, and it simply took too long. A 1500pt game with my orks would take a minimum of 2 hours, and when I played against my friends Nids, even longer. I like my elite, fast moving Blood Angels since the games go a lot faster.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

When I used to play orks, I used a lot of Looted wagons and storm boyz, I guess that makes my list a bit different then other ork lists. For my BA, I play an infantry army since they are one of the few codex's that make a non-mech army viable. I guess what makes it unique is that it is not mech like many other armies you see now.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

I was actually given free Tau models, but I just couldn't get into them.. I would probably go with foot-IG. I would love to field ranks upon ranks of troops, and being able to give orders and such really gives a great commanding-feel to your army.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

Space Wolves. Even though BA has its OTT choices, space wolves is a much stronger codex all together, and I really don't like alot of thier stuff like TWC, or Long Fangs.

7. Your fav. army to play against?

I love playing against Tyranids. They give me such a challenge everytime I play them, and seeing a vast swarm coming at your small, elite force makes the game better.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

I hate playing other SM armies (including BA and SW but excluding maybe Death Wing since they are a change), not because they are hard to prepare for, but its dull pitting marines vs marines.

I'm a latin bro, so my slampiece cooks me quesadillas.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
I've played Vanilla Marines, Dark Angels, Chaos Marines, Space Wolves, Orks, and Imperial Guard.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I used to just really like Space Marines. I chose Iron Warriors Chaos Marines because their models are cool and so are hazard stripes, I chose Space Wolves because they seemed as far from Dark Angels as I could get while still being Space Marines, I chose Orks because they came with AoBR, and I chose Imperial Guard because Catachans are awesome.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I stopped playing my Dark Angels because Space Wolves are a lot more fun. They were under their old codex anyway.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I don't mech up very much or very often. That's mostly because I don't enjoy painting Space Marine tanks that much though.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Eldar. They seem like they'd be really different, and their models are really nice.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
I don't think I could handle Sisters of Battle with their all-metal models. Then again, I play Guard with a healthy dose of Steel Legion, so who knows.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
GEQ armies like gaunt swarms, IG, and Tau. It's nice seeing the non-superhuman side of the universe.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Necrons bore the living hell out of me. I've only lost against them once, and I'm by no means a great player.

1. What armies do (did) you play?

I play Witch Hunters, Daemons, and Space Marines.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

I've always liked the fluff of the Witch Hunters or at least the Sisters anyway. Inqusiition I can do without as they add nothing of importance to my army. For Daemons ti was two reasons. The first is that for Slaanesh the older models looked great and second I wanted to play the (more) evil guys. For Space Marines is the was the look of the FW upgrade kit for Raven Guard so now I play Raven Guard with beakies everywhere. I also like the fluff of them as well.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

Haven't quit (daemons thats is) yet just shelved for the time being.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

For Sisters its not so unique as I try to put as many effective units of Battle Sisters on the table and mech them up. For Daemons I think I am more or less alone in playing mono-Slaanesh in my area. My Space Marine style is not unique as i haven't played them long enough (or acquired enough models) to develop a style.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

I'd choose Imperial Guard as I am a total tread head. I just haven't started one becuase of the cost of doing so. Either them or Dark Eldar simply because of the aesthetic value.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

Currently that would be Necrons due to their extremely limited codex options or Tau becuase they seem very one dimensional in nature as an army.

7. Your fav. army to play against?

Tyranids as I actually feel that power armor is worth something when I play againts them.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

Space Wolves as they have (nearly) the best of all worlds and I have seen the power of Njal. Ughh.

1. What armies do (did) you play?

-GKs were/are my first army. Tyranids (though I have 8x as many points of them) are my secondary army.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

-I saw my brother and friends playing the game and I always had a personal soft spot for chivalry...I wanted Knights. So in the end it came down to Black Templar or Grey Knights. And the GK models were gorgeous and the best of the best. Little did I know that I was entering into one of the most difficult armies to win with....I got good at the game fast.

-As for tyranids...I fell into a deal. A guy sold me close to 1600 dollars worth of stuff for 300 (so he could buy Magic cards) and the idea of having more than 50 models on the board appealed to me. I run horde tyranids.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

-Never have. Through the fire and flames I have continued to figure out and win with my Grey Knights. Tyranids have more synergy and combinations than any other codex and so I doubt boredom will ever come from that army.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

-Well, It's GKs...simply bringing GKs to a board...much less a tournament is unique. But in General I guess I have always used PAGK to the fullest extent. Even going so far as to hide a Terminator Inquisitor with Eviscerator in the squads to kill those pesky tanks.

-Tyranids: I don't use Hive Guard or Zoanthropes...my power of the codex rises from where it should in this codex. The Troops section. How to kill vehicles? Throw gants at it... How to kill infantry...more gants... Terminators?...GANTS. Adrenal Glands and Toxin Sacs will be the most effective weapons against any opponent. I also won't run stealers without a broodlord. That "upgrade" is just insanely good. I like Harpies...they just add something to the list that no other unit can do. Same with Lictors.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

-IG...just to use and convert them into henchmen for my upcoming GK codex.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

Orks...I have my horde army...I don't need another.

7. Your fav. army to play against?

-As GKs: Daemons. The fluffiness of battle is too much to take in. I guess fighting against MC nids and Mech guard have always been fun too. Rushing into those things that people don't expect you to be able to beat and walking through it with all the ease of S6.

-Tyranids: I love playing other tyranids for one. The synergy of both lists taking off against each other...it doesn't happen in any other kind of game. Daemons are fun to kill with all the toxin on the field. I really like playing against anyone with my tyranids. Really have never been beaten down by anything badly enough to not want to play it.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

DoA Blood Angels. With my rather assaulty take on both tyranids and GKs...BA DoA down...they shoot...I eat them/Shoot and NFW them to death...its just boring. I guess facing the leafblower is boring too...or razorback spam...i run...they shoot...i run...they shoot...i run and assault...BORING...I can't see why anyone would want to play those armies.

1. What armies do (did) you play?

I played Black Templars back when they had the Armageddon Codex, and now I am working on an Imperial Fists Army.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

I chose Black Templars because I loved the Emps.Champion, and their colour scheme. I'm now going with Imperial Fists because I want a challenge with painting, and I love the Fluff!

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

I quit my Black Templars army because, well... I was like.. 9Years Old at the time. And my mom didn't like me busing down to the FLGS 20 Blocks away. And then when I started High School I had less time to paint and game. So yeah life got in the way

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

At my FLGS I was the only Black Templar player, and my play style was mostly me trying to footslog into combat... Maybe that explains my horrible W/L Record xD

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

Sisters of Battle, I like their models a lot! And I don't see many people using them, so I like that small unique feel.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

Tyranids... I don't like bugs.. xD

7. Your fav. army to play against?

It's been forever since I played.. but it would have to be Space Wolves from 3rd Edition.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

Necrons... always Necrons... Necrons.

Over 3000Pts Codex: Armageddon. Pulling it out of retirement.. rebuild in progress.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Between my own and borrowing friend’s armies I have hit a lot of them. Highlights would included:
Tau
Space Marines
Black Templars
Grey Knights
Witch Hunters
Necrons
Guard
Daemons
Chaos
Nids

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I started out caring mostly about models. Moved to caring mostly about rules. Now I look for a happy medium of both.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I usually quit when a new codex comes out. About that time I’m usually getting bored anyway and I don’t feel like buying a whole bunch of new stuff and relearning the army. I just assume use my money to switch to something new.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I don’t know that it is. But I like spamming things; there are some fundamental advantages to spamming.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Horde DKOK guard. Only because it’s the most expensive army I can think of and it’s free.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
I’ve seriously thought about doing all of them at one point or another. But Orks would probably be lowest on the totem pole (who wants to paint that many models?)

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Anything small and elite, I like low model high pimpage

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Guard. I’ve been playing guard lately and I don’t enjoy shooting games as much as ones where someone is trying to get into CC. Otherwise I hate armies that can beat me :0P

. What armies do (did) you play?
I play Dark eldar as my main army since right now my mind is think up alot of fluff about my kabal. My secondary is Dark Angels.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I picked Dark Eldar since I loved their playstyles, how they look, and their fluff.Dark angels since they fascinate me.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I don't quit armies I just dont use them.I still collect them.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
My dark eldar is still in training and Dark Angels i can only play a regular one and a small deathwing.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
If it has to be a army that I haven't played yet it would have to either grey knights,I know im jumping the bandwagon, or Witch Hunters.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
TAU!!! Pansy!!

7. Your fav. army to play against?
right now orks and necrons.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

1. What armies do (did) you play?

I play Eldar, Dark Angels, and Tau Empire. The Dark Angels are a primarily Deathwing force with a few Ravenwing components as well.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

I really liked the idea of technologically advanced, ranged oriented xenos. However, Deathwing proved to be cheaper to start, so that was my first army. I later branched into Eldar because I have money available and I really liked the look of the models and the background.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

I almost quit my Eldar when I wanted to focus on filling out a then-incomplete Deathwing, but I am glad I didn't quit because the Eldar are now the force I'm primarily expanding.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

My armies tend to very ranged-centric and focused on combining a few elite 'hammers' with a larger force of cheaper 'anvils'. Examples of this include Fire Dragons/Guardians and Crisis Suits/Fire Warriors. My Deathwing is an exception, as it focuses on taking the fight to the enemy in an ultra-elite force. I always field at least one LR/LRC for armored support and transport as well.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

I would pick Imperial Guard air cavalry. I love the Valkyrie/Vendetta models and the whole concept, but the cost is very prohibitive for me. Perfect if its free!

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

I would never play Dark Eldar. The whole masochist/slaver thing is just a put-off for me. I like playing the 'good' guys too much.

7. Your fav. army to play against?

I love to play against orks. They are just so spontaneous and fun that even getting crushed is pretty cool. Plus the whole '1 vs. 100' thing is really appealing when I have my Deathwing.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

Blood Angels. The amount of cheese in their codex is frankly painful. I will play against them (and had fun fighting a guy with a nice non-WAAC list), but I just don't like feeling like my army is totally outclassed.

Black Widow Assault Cadre 2000 Points (Under Renovation- Playable) Win-4 Lose-5 Draw-1
Storm Angels 1st Company 2500 Points (DA Codex) (Under Renovation - Playable) Win-3 Lose-4 Draw-3
Corsairs of Fate 1750 Points (Under Construction - Playable) Win-2 Lose-3 Draw-1
Protectorate of Menoth 11 Points (Project Delayed Indefinitely) Win-1 Lose-3 Draw-0
Imperial Guard Regiment (Unnamed) 1000 Points (Project Delayed Indefinitely)
Cygnar 25 Points (Planned) Win-0 Lose-0 Draw-0

Last Game(s): The Spearhead Annihilation Battle between my Storm Angels First Company (Dark Angels) and Skystompa's Waagghh! (Blood Angels) resulted in a MAJOR VICTORY!

1. What armies do (did) you play?

I have always enjoyed Space marines. I like the fluff. It's too bad it has evolved over the years into this whole vanilla codex crap and munchkin-itis.

I also like the Tau, but only for the models.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

See question 1.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

I've never quit an army even when others said it wasn't 'playable'. It's possible to win with every army in my experience. Figures and money play powerful parts for me, however.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

Fluffy, when I can swing it. I can get irritated and then I'll whip out a munchkin army to put someone in their place. My group plays story laiden campaigns of our own design most often. A mix of 'roleplayin' and miniatures combat.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

Wow, I really like the look and possibilities of the new GK figures, codex notwithstanding... free models might sway me.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

Necrons I think. ...the utter tediousness of the figures.

7. Your fav. army to play against?

When I need a laugh, I love Orks, you can't get mad getting beaten by a junk heap piloted by a crazed lunatic. When I'm feeling the need for a grimdark injection, Chaos Marines.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

The Eldar in the hands of an experience player...

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Orks, Nids both 3rd edition quit as 4th released... sold both and adopted a friends failed chaos project which became closet fodder. About a year ago my brother in law harassed me enough to break it all back out and play some more, new chaos made me sad and bought a lot of unpainted sisters... been playing with them thus far

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Orks: I <3 weirdboys and fun wonky ork tech, also it lends to infinite themes
Nids: they were under represented in 3rd and had my pitty, also I have a soft spot for genestealers
Chaos: I have always liked chaos, but in 3rd it was over represented my circle of friends had already covered nearly every flavor of chaos and being redundant is just a killjoy... in 5th I felt free to build Nightlords but well that is a topic for the next question.
Sisters: This was one of them armys I just could never afford due to it being all pewter and light pockets... their fluff is amazing and rich, and It is the only loyalist brand I could get behind since admech was counts as dreamland for me.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Orks: no good reason other than quitting 40k at 4th ed
Nids: honestly nids was depressing in 3rd ed, with changes since 5th and the new codex I do regret selling them off
Chaos: some day put the 3rd edition chaos codex next to the 5th edition and note the regression and utter gutting they took. I could go on for days but that is not needed.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
For orks I liked running huge masses of gretchen to soak wounds until mt EvyArmor orks could get in close enough... it was good times.
Nids at that time was hard mode, no big bugs, delivery methods, coversaves, and most popular lists were foot and perfect wrecking balls for soft nids.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
IronHands/AdMech is my next plan, using vanilla marines book... 4 dreads, 2 tacsqds, scouts, MoTF, Vulkan as Ferrus Manus

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Vespid heavy Tau... mutant socialists: eww

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Orks, Nids, vanilla marines

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Lists heavy with feel no pain kinda kill the joy of doing well for a change, or trick pony lists that use goofy exploits to win(3 malwoks 9 lictor max sporepods trick)

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Tau, Orks, Chaos, Iron hands (vanilla marines)

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Loved the tau fluff, liked the ork randomness and different playstyle, chaos was created from my assault on black reach set extras and I grew to love them and their versitility, iron hands was to fill the lack of having a biker/mechanized force

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Never quit, just don't like playing my tau against guard, at all.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I play balanced tau with stealthsuits, vespid and only a few battlesuits, normally I don't take any markerlights also.
Orks run a variant of green tide with mek elements and weirdboyz, walkers and koptas. No trucks, no bikes. Blood axe theme (slightly smarter orks, hahaha)
Chaos runs variant lists, scheme based off the purge models in the codex, I tend to use my possessed, obliterators and chaos lords more than anything else. I also have fun lists with fabius bile and other funny setups.
Iron hands run a mixed biker/mechized list. Bikes, razorbacks, thunderfire cannons, two ironclads, landspeeders with a few extras.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Tallaran imperial guard. I just really enjoy the look of the models. Would focus on a few infantry squads with missile launcher support, three deathstrike missiles, some sentinels and roughriders.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Muthaeffing space wolves

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Anything non teq or guard. Except necrons. Wait, that really limits the possibilities doesn't it?

8. What army do you hate playing against?
As above, muthaeffing space wolves and guard. I would against play any other army, any time, any day. With handicap if need be.

1. Tryanids are my main army while I've tried a litlle bit of Tau and Eldar.

2. I chose Tyranids because I really liked the idea of the ever adapting super predator; my interest in biology also influenced this. I also fell in love with the carnifex and they're still my favorite model.

4. My style of play is to have MC march forward with a gaunt shield while genestealers flank to the side. Scattered amongst this are warriors and hive guard for gun power. Nothing too unique.

5. I'd like to have space marines because I'd like to do a charcharodons army.

6. Dark eldar, I never really liked them for some reason.

7. Chaos marines, I always win!

8. Space marines, I have played against them way too much and they've become stale to me.

United States of WAAAGH!

1. What armies do (did) you play?

Chaos Space Marines and Orks

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

I personally love the Orks (Nepotism if you will), and Chaos Space Marines make for a pretty interesting army composition as well as a enough variation to keep it interesting after so many battles.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

I quit Eldar. I just played them way too aggressively I guess. I got slaughtered every single time. Maybe because of unit mismatching or just generalized tactics.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

I tend to consider my strategy as Passive-Aggressive. I tend to play on the defensive but all my actions are aggressive whilst doing so. Hard to explain, its kind of like, if you played Starcraft II, a terran slow push with Siege tanks.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

7. Your fav. army to play against?

Tau. I just fuckin' hate them. I honestly do not know why I do, I just have a seemingly unjustifiable hatred towards Tau.

8. What army do you hate playing against?

I have got to say the Imperial Guard. Just has grown stall for me.
