I love 'the Boys', 'the Authority' and those alternative teams- but if I had to choose- it would have to be grass man.

Mine is superman Hes buff he, has a cape, He can fly, he shoots lasers, Keeps his identity a secret with out a mask ( Yea idk wtf always wondered ) He is the man! He has LL! Almost as handsome as I am too!
Actually, the funny bit is that Clark Kent IS his costume/mask... the reality is that his true persona is Kal El/Superman...
I used this comparison in a thesis I had published on the Importance of Uniforms in the Workplace.

No "superpowers"...just his wits and determination, coupled with a huge budget, serious combat know how and borderline psychotic obsession.
Batman is a hero, though not Super. he does not have any mutations or powers. Just a billionaire playboy's budget and a utility belt.

As above.
Spiderman (with or without symbiote) is my fave superhero.
Storm is my favourite heroine. Seriously, she will send a cyclone and tsunamis to wipe you out.

I like Daredevil because other than his 'radar' senses he's just a human trying to make a difference in a small section of New York. He's not, to my knowledge, got super strength and was effectively blinded as a boy but gained his extra senses that allow for enhanced hearing and radar-like vision. That gives him the edge on normal human sight, but the rest is down to the fact he's just physically strong and athletic, not super-human. He also doesn't attempt to put the whole world to rights, he tries to fight slightly more conventional crime in his childhood neighbourhood of Hell's kitchen.
I like the Daredevil movie for this reason, unlike goody-two-shoes clean-living Spiderman who fights costumed villains Daredevil is a costumed vigilante. If he can't win in court and knows you're a bad 'un he'll come after you at night and solve the problem himself - terminally. And when he gets home at night he's covered in cuts and bruises and has broken teeth. He's just more interesting, human and fallible... and a bit screwed up inside.

Hmm.....err.....no.
In fact you've got this almost entirely backwards, at least with regards to the modern era/post C.O.I.E. Superman anyway, where it is in fact Clark Kent who is the real person -- the one raised, tutored and nurtured by the Kents : they're the ones who've influenced the way he thinks and acts -- and the Superman character is the persona.
In other words he's pretty much the opposite of Batman/Bruce Wayne where the Batman/costumed persona is, now and sadly, the actual person and the "normal" human being playboy is in fact nothing more than a charade or act that enables him to do as he wants... hmm.. no, needs to do.
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

This.
I actually had this discussion with my GF yesterday, how even though Bruce Wayne was a wealthy and popular person, Batman was the real person.
I can't decide... I was going to say TNMT (from the comics) but Wolverine, Gambit, and Batman (he's super to me) also have a special place in my heart.
yes i know.... he's an antihero..... but... IS THE BEST!!! Killing his entire race only to become unique? just the beggining of a life of awesomeness
And Spiderman sense of humour always liked me a fething sarcastic spider-nerd he is!

Batman because he doesn't need to be an alien or wizard to beat the crap out of punks. Also he has cool vllains and a pretty venerable store of canon.
"Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things, and we shall do so again."
"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"

I've always wanted to read Hellblazer, but there's just an overwhelming amount of stuff to get started with.

Psychologists disagree with you on this one.
Sorry, but you are incorrect.
Regardless who tutored and nurtured him, the persona of Clark Kent is his disguise. The Kents raised him as a 'normal' child, even when they knew he was from another planet. Hence, they were trying to hide his true self from the rest of the world to avoid persecution and prejudice.
