Remember when the alternate Chapters had to buy two books to use their armies?

Thing with Xenos being OP was that they weren't as oversaturated as Imperial Forces, at least not in my area. Sure a Xeno race can pummel you into the ground, but they were few and far between. With SMs being OP now and the fact that they were grossly popular before, there's almost no more xeno players here anymore (with the exception of one guy, but then again he's only bullheadedly clinging to his Eldar and Crons because he doesnt have the money to start anew). EDIT: If they wanted to play a flavour chapter, they should pay extra. Better yet, they should have just released one book Plus it's not like it was two whole codexes. It was one codex and a pamphlet dex.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

You know, I played 4th ed, old codex guard, and I don't think they sucked. Of course, I don't think guard now are over powered either, so...

I started in 2006 on the verge of 5th edition, using a Chaos Space Marine book that I had for a few months before it got replaced by the "ZOMFG FZORGLE OBLITERATORZ!1!1" book we got lumped with that spawned a host of dual-lash prince, 9 obliterator all plague marine troop armies.
I don't think I witnessed an overpowered Xenos book. (That's not me sticking my fingers in my ears and going "lalalalala!" when you say they've overpowered, it's just me stating that i've no experience of it.) If you'd told me Xenos were overpowered before I got a bit more mature and researched stuff, then you'd get the same response people get from newer players right now, "What do you mean? Marines are overpowered, not Xenos."
It's simply an issue of experience. Someone who has been with 40k from inception will no doubt have more experience of the game and it's incarnations than a player who started a year ago, but the new player will disagree with the older player because he hasn't seen how it was beforehand.
Entirely true, but it's annoying that now every time something Imperium-related is released, people ASSUME it's overpowered.

Because it generally is
Not always, but generally.
There have been broken things in xeno codexes before this also (DOM for example) but they tend to get FAQ-nerfed way faster than Imperial ones, and the broken stuff to lousy stuff ratio tends to be lower in xeno codecii compared to imperial ones, in my experience.
A simple question: What are the current power-armies out there? The oens that tend to dominate every tournament and that everyone spiels about?
How many are non-imperial?
Nuff said.

Yes currently Imperial and Blood Angels would be consider top tier armies but not even 2 years ago the top tier armeis in tournaments were Daemons of Chaos and Orks. Hell I remember back in 3rd edition necrons were consider "broken" & " OP". People need to really stop this "omg your codex is broken" crap as no army is actually broken. Oh sorry that your normal strategy that use against them to win from the previous codex doesn't work with their new codex. This happens to ALL armies that's why you have to adapt.
As to the original poster, be glad that they are spending the extra time on the new necron codex as 1.) They'll probably have more new plastic models out on release and 2.) GW wants to make sure they do it right like how they took their time with the new dark eldar codex. Every DE player in my area are glad that they took their time and did the codex right (they only wish they had it done a edition or 2 then it actually took)

OK, so Dark Eldar should pay extra, because they're "just another kind of Eldar"... CSM should be forced to get the Daemons codex (although they should just be 1 Codex TBH)? Is that what you're saying? Because it sure looks like it from where I'm watching...

The line-up for the Tau is supposedly:
Pathfinders, Kroot being recut to include Kroothounds and Krootox options on the frames, new Crisis Suits, and possibly a new Drone variant.
Fire Warriors and the rest of the line should be left relatively untouched.
Kanluwen, you are missing something very important from that list. (Hint: look at my avatar)

NO! I refused to believe we get midgets as our next allie, just give us the stupid normal imperials.

I didn't miss anything. My "line-up" was more what's being redone, not what's being added.
