Also +1 to Nurse Ratchet.

And the guy from Avatar always reminds me of Sarge from Quake 3 Arena...

Another mission, the powers have called me away. Another chance to carry the colours again. My motivation, an oath I've sworn to defend. To win the honour of coming back home again.

I honestly don't see Ryan as the Villain, he is at most a tragic, fallen hero. but not a villain.

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Andrew Ryan became the Villain when he took away peoples freedom in Rapture and was someone I felt needed to be stopped while playing the game.

Spoiler:
He also mudered his mistress and had people totured and murdered in rapture so he could control his city and the People in it.

So for that reason I felt he was a Villain

But in Rapture, everyone going into the city knew that it was "Survival of the Fittest", and Ryan was the most fit to rule. He was a man of his beliefs, and no one would take that away from him.

Spoiler:
I mean, he beleive in people having freedom, and he beleive in it so much that his death was about the only way I could see him dying, honestly. He didn't even fight back!

Also, he didn't kill Diane McClintok; she was murdered by Fontaine when she tried to talk to Atlas and walked in on him without his costume on.

I'm not trying to call you out on your opinion, just trying to give my own

To be fair....

Spoiler:
Jacks mother wasn't a consentual mistress. In Bioshock 2 (which, good or bad, is canon to Rapture :/) Ryan has an audio diary revealing that his seed was stolen, and I beleive he never had a son with Diane.

Unfortunatly, BS2 being canon raises a whole hell of a lot more questions than it answers.

Sure, some may say he is a hero, but If a man kills over a thousand living beings just to kill one man, well I have to say that fits villian criteria pretty well.

Kratos is not a villain... not when you realise what he is actually fighting for.

For blind vengence? Yes, he is a villain.

Desire's not really a bad guy, it just has a very conflicting view with Dream, but it's still a major antagonist in Sandman. Of course, considering how everything turns out, you could call Dream his own antagonist.

As well...

Harvey Dent is a really complex character.

And the joker. He's the fething Joker.

The second one is Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. He is probably the greatest Imperial villain the Star Wars franchises had--I'd even consider him a better villain than Vader. He's such an interesting character....and interesting characters always turn out to be the best villains.

How odd. I just finished the Knights of the Nine expansion and was comparing how much I didnt care for Umaril as a bad guy, not to mention how much a puss he was (I kicked his ASS and was a lvl25. I even reloaded and tried again on a much harder difficulty). And I went on to tell my wife, how Dagoth Ur was a real villain and if you tried to take him on at 30 he would of kicked your ass

On a boat, Trying not to die.

This is the most cruel, evil villan in any game I have ever played. He follows you around wherever you go, and kills you as he detonates, also destroying your hopes and dreams. I have put him in the spoiler link, as many people cannot watch him without vomiting violently.
Spoiler:
