I really wish Captain Greston Wolf Loken of the 10th Company of the Storm Crusaders could just walk up one day to Cato and punch him in the nads.
Hell I faced an ultramarine player that had the entire 2nd company and his first company. I brought out my 10th, my 2nd, my 1st and elements of my libaraius.
Yeah it didn't look so good for the ultramarine player, because he believed small elite units of terminators vs 412 marines all of which had only 15 terminators. Yeah Needless to say the Storm Crusader Tactics = Better and less troops lost surprisingly.
Cato Scarius may be a good commander but he is still a douche. Thats why I hate ultramarines because I believe he shows what they truly are. A bunch of ers

Ventris is still an Ultramarine. Therefore your argument is invalid.
To be honest, most of the Ultramarines are fine. It's just a select few *cough*SICARIOUS*cough* that are power-mad glory hunters.
Seriously, Cato must run on legend fuel, and get recharged via a pump in his arse every night.
Yeah, I'm running out of things to say about him that won't get me kicked off Dakka .

Hey don't forget he pissed off one of my chapters officers so much, they got into a brawl, and it took an entire command squad to hold the officer down.
Yeah Scarius if you insult someones homeplanet that Was Destroyed usually that would piss them off.
And Tyrion would of won if it wasn't for scarius always carrying his damn sword everywhere he goes.
Thats why I see it fitting that in the end for the 40k universe Tyrion goes in with Loken and kicks his arse.

No offense Asherian, but home-brew fluff isn't valid when discussing concrete, established background.
But yeah I'd like to see Siccy wiccy punched in the knackers.

Sicarius reminds me of someone I know in real life; very good at what he does, but KNOWS he's good at it, and wants everyone else to know as well. Probably why I don't like Sicarius, but there we go.
However, I don't think we can be too harsh on the lad. Remember that his position as a potential heir to Calgar has put a lot of pressure on him by those Mariens that support him, and he probably feels he has to be a dashing glory-hogging hero to live up to their expectations. Truthfully, I think he's a little insecure.

Not really, Boreal was a idiot with a speech impediment, Sicarius is a dick.
Sicarius would probably make fun of Boreal while he beat him up and took his lunch money, and he would get a promotion while doing so.

I like this interpretation. I mean you don't get earmarked for possible succession to chapter master if your really as bad as the books portray him as being at times.
But beyond that, say what you will about him - he's got one of the best minis in the entire range of GW products, and I'd say hes a fantastic mini to compare to any other companies ranges to boot! For that reason alone, long live Cato Sicarius, and his awesome miniature.

He isn't actually that heroic...
He made hard decisions in the difficult circumstances he was presented with. But might I just point out..
He was still a relatively inexperienced captain at the time of Nightbringer, and having only recently been promoted from a Sergeant he was still very much in the mindset of keeping his warriors alive as a high priority, perhaps too high. It was an unprecedented event in Imperial history, though.
He did actually kill the Norn Queen though, and saved an entire planet in doing so.
He defeated the Tau anyway..
He helped to bring a massive army of Iron Warriors in Medrengard itself to its knees.
He saved the entirety of Ultramar.
He's a Space Marine, first and foremost of mankind's warriors.
All in all, yeah, I'd say he's pretty heroic actually.

Maybe I'm holding Space Marines to the wrong standard, but if you tried to pull half that stuff with any First World military organization you'd get yourself a court martial. Risking the mission, the lives of your men and your command for the sake of personal honor is incompetence, and any sensible CO would have had him removed from active duty - or sent to a place where he'd do less damage. Succeeding DESPITE one's incompetence isn't heroism; it's luck.
