Harakoni warhawks! Good old codex
Non forgewrold Talarn and Elysians would also be cool... plus of course Tanith...
I must say the IG does have some pretty cool regiments!

yeah. while GW may be asleep at the wheel sometimes where model-making is concerned, you can't say the don't have some awesome ideas.

I was thinking of picking up IG as my second army, but I was stopped cold by the lack of plastic Mordians. They are absolutely the coolest looking in my book (mostly because of their late 19th/early 20th century aesthetic matching the meat-grinder feel that the guard gives me).

I also agree on the need for female Guard. Mostly just needs heads. Torsos with slightly narrower waists and the plates on the flak armor angled slightly differently to have a little more room in the chest would be gravy.

I know there are a whole bunch of Catachan players out there

Also their fluff and appearance is pretty cool; it's a huge break from the millionth Prussian/Russian/Soviet/Nazi Germany theme that's been used too many times over

Some of the models do a look a bit awkward with the muscles but overrall I think the Catachans look pretty good and Guardsmen Marbo is just awesome

That said, I'd prefer if they just dumped the horrific looking and awful fluff'd Catachans (I don't think I've ever seen anyone use Catachans as anything but Plague Zombies for Apoc games, certainly never an army of them or actually seen someone buy a box off a shelf), filled out the Cadians more (and maybe resculpted the heads and faces, either give us masked heads like the Kasrkin/FW respirators, or make them look like something other than as if they are halfway through taking the most painful dump of their lives and can't squeeze the last half out) and left any future lines to Forgeworld.

I played Catachan when they had their own codex and loved them.

but I strongly feel Tallern would be awesome.

hell they could release a 10 man box of all the "common" archtypes and everyone could convert their own. I'd be happy with that.

other than that though cadians dont realy NEED anything, while plastic kasrkin, vet conversion pack, grav shutes, gas-masks, rough riders and plastic ogryns would be nice, I'd rather see them make the "collectors" ranges in plastic and/or make kriegies in plastic just cus they are WW1 nuclear apocalypse cool.

oh, two uses for catachans; 1) steal some of the cool bits from the comand sprue, 2) they make great penal legionaries ..... oh and some of the heads are good for modding vets.

The problem with making the forgeworld resin sculpts plastic (for infantry at least) is that a direct port to plastic with current technology will make them look less them desirable as plastic moulds are inflexible whilst resin moulds are flexible, so you can get detail from beneath the miniature rather than a solid block of plastic there instead.

Anyway, I think that the chem dogs of savlar need some models, they have none! Also some guardsmen without the horrid bulky shouldepads or muscle arms would be great to make many converted regiments at least look non-cadian/body builder when you glance at them.

I play Elyisans and I would stab Planet Earth right in it's molten, black heart just to get an Elysian special weapons pack with arms attached like the Death Korp have.

As a side note; female IG come up so often and so regularly (even going as far as non-GW model makers producing bootleggs) that it's hard to believe GW still hasn't capitolized on this. Can you imagine the sales boost if they released a 10 "man" squad of women compatable with the cadian line?

The whole female guard thing can be done by some leg and head variants, The chests would look the same, when you're making a squillion sets of armour, you don't really worry about the visual appeal, a 1" thick plate will suffice!.

However, due to the combat fatiques, just to differentiate things you would need some leg sprues with more feminine hips etc.

As for plastics, Praetorians need plastics, if GW brought out Plastic Praetorians, they would make so much more money out of me!
