what i like about this model is how much you achieved a good looking mini with the careful aplication of washes here... the articulated muscles everywhere look very good!
i hope you will do a nice glowy effect on the sword tho?^^

Fateweaver, still nowhere near finished:

that Fateweaver looks already very good... specially the nice looking feathers on the wings... reminds me a lot of old gods from inka and azteken folklore...and the combination of reds and blues is a god choice for this model!

Khornate daemon prince (Skarbrand):

that DP looks very good...tho i fear there are still some moldlines un the undersides of his trophy rack...or it might be due to the color or the angle...

Mangler squigs, just started:

the squigg is so ugly he is almost cute again...almost^^... and the orange and red is a nice twist...

Skaven behemoth update (finally):

and what the hell is this? is this some kind of counts as skaven giant then? highly detailed conversion work there... makes me get cramps if i should paint that...lol... i wouldn´t know where to start and what shouold look like what...^^

Oh, and a side project to keep me going:

and then even some DE as well... boy you have your hands full it seems^^

Haha, cheers vic
Im glad your eyes are better than mine.
The lines on the trophy rack are now gone.

The glowing sword will be comming soon
Just finished work so might get some work on it before i fall asleep.

The skaven behemoth is a result of me having left over skaven kits and too much to drink one night.
No idea what to use it as yet, but it needs more structure work and some more detail on it.
Painting will be a nightmare, but should prove a nice challenge.

Cheers again Vik

well... to be honest i am quite blunt with my statements and my eyes are totaly without mercy... must be all that german geneseeds^^... no really i say what i like about your stuff and point out what i think might be helping... and i think i made myself clear that your stuff looks very cool!

and the skaven behemoth...well yes... needs more sumthin... but all in good time... don´t rush it... i see you are onto something cool here!

Thanks again mate

The behemoth is over a year old now though lol, i usually have a 5k point army painted in that time alone

lol, speed painting isnt my forte
However, ill see what i can do.
I usually have shortcuts for everything i paint XD

I rarely ever highlight / blend / layer colour.
Everything is allways done through progressive washes and drybrushing lol.
Takes 1/10 of the time and looks nearly the same.

i can´t even do highlights and blending...heavens forbid...^^ i am still learning... baby steps^^

Fareham

I can do highlights when needed (usually showpiece models) but i rarely bother on normal models as i can get a similar effect with less work

Blending is another monkey.
Have no problems with it, but its a very slow process to get a nice transition between the colours.
Will have to do some soon though because ive ordered some tzeentch flamers

Finally got something finished!
Granted its tabletop standard, but its done.
Only wanted a simple base as i dislike crowded and large bases. (want the model to be the focal point, not the base)

And theres that done, now i can get back to painting kairos.

the base i actually like a lot... but where i have some difficulties with is the sword... hilt looks good but the balde... i think it is missing a certain je-ne-se-quoi...

Cheers vik
The base was actually 5 mins work.
Simply painted, washed and then drybrushed the normal plastic base lol.
Didnt even have to add sand XD

The sword is being a pain to take a pic of, ive got about 15 different pics and i cant get the light to catch it as it should without the use of a light box.

This pic is slightly better for the sword, but not a great deal im affraid:

i can see that you did a hard job there... but the glow effect doesn´t say :glow: to me... if you add now some thin hairlines you could make it look like a crystal sword tho^^

and a simple and quick job doen´t eaqual bad job^^... i like the base^^

Thanks again vik
I might go for a crystal look, would simply need a bit more hard lining in areas.

I know, but did i not say i was lazy and used alot of short cuts in painting

Nice use of washes! They really add depth to the minis.

I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

short cuts are allowed! they mark you as a clever person^^

and i would love to see a crystal sword... and if you already have a lightbox... get it out!^^ or if not... daylight pics^^

Thanks killy

lol, i make alot of use from shortcuts

Skin is just tallarn flesh washed with leviathan purple, then the weird vein like section have a layer of asur blue washed over them afterwards.
And thats it really lol.

It will be daylight pics tomorrow vik, a friend has my box for ebaying models at the moment :K

one of these days i goota make my own light box ... it is about time... but it needs to be not too big... so that i can keep it around and not having to build it each time i want to take a pic... big enough but small enough too^^

and well i mostly use for my faces dheneb stone with a wash of my current preferrece... can be devlan mud or sepia or something else next time... i still haven´t found THAT formula for faces yet...

Made in gb
Towering Hierophant Bio-Titan

Fareham

For faces i simply paint them tallarn flesh.
Wash with purple.
Highlight heavily with tallarn flesh.
Wash with devlin mud.
Highlight with tallarn again.
Final highlight with dwarf flesh.

Thats my easy way of doing it anyway.

My lightbox fits on a shelf in the bedroom, so its got its own storage area lol.
Its about 24" long, 12" high and 12" deep.
So big enough for most of my projects.

Berlin Germany

is it a bought one? or did you made it by yourself?

and well this still sounds a bit complicated to me... i do basecoat and then wash... i for now skip the highlights... i am still too messy with drybrushing so that is still not doable...

Made in gb
Towering Hierophant Bio-Titan

Fareham

I just made it.
Took about an hour from start to finish and thats one with 3 daylight bulbs in it.
Also only cost around £20 lol.

Drybrushing is nice, but for human skin it tend to look too grainy rather than natural.

Made in de
Shroomin Brain Boy

Berlin Germany

yes... drybrushing on faces /skin would be wrong... but that means careful highlighting then and that i am still years away from...

care to describe what you used and how you did your lightbox?

i think i want that^^

Same here mate, with the odd bit of painting done here and there
On another note, just ordered 6 more bloodcrushers to bring me up to 24 now.
Also ordered skulltaker to put him on a jugger and 12 flamers simply for the fun of painting them lol.
