My daemon army including what ive just got:

HQ:

All 4 greater daemons, skarbrand, kairos, masque, scribes, skulltaker on jugger and 2 tzeentch heralds.

Elite:

24 bloodcrushers, 12 flamers, 6 fiends.

Troops:

20 horrors, 20 bloodletters, 10 plaguebearers, 10 daemonettes.

Fast:

12 screamers, 20 seekers.

Heavy:

5 randomly different daemon princes, 2 soul grinders.



And thats it for now i think.

what does these add up to? seems it is quite a good collection... tho i have to admit i know next to nothing about demons... but i believe you have way more artistic freedom with these than maybe only bested with orks^^

I usually run a fixed list, but i like being able to swap units around from time to time and see how it performs.

Granted you can read its unit entry for that, but i prefer to see a unit in use and see how it fits my style of play.

well for that i need my own army finished and i then need expeireince in gaming for once^^

And another update, finally got the 1st of 24 bloodcrushers finished!
Found a scheme i like for them, but means changing my normal letter colours to a darker tone.
Its more time consuming, but looks better.

Might go for a full unit of 8 by next sunday, so 1 a day roughly.

now that sword looks good! like the bright point!

and the "flames" of the back of yon bloodcrusher looks very good and add a touch of spotlight to the mini...

what i am currently thinking tho are the runes... will they get some glowy effect too? i think this would look very cool...

I may do something with them later vik, but they arent really runes as such, they vary from bloddcrusher model.
However, im sure i could do something with them

is getting rid of gloss varnish hard? i bet it is...

Lets just say i may swear at it a few times while using a razorblade to scrape away at it and pick it out of the recesses

well cussing is part of the hobby as i see it it´s a form of cheering yourself up

Got 1 side done now and also obtained several slices to my thumb in the process lol.
Telling someone to cut away from yourself is 1 thing, being able to do it with full control of the blade and pressure applied is another

lol... i wuld think rusty and very much weathered i would gather... and with htese glowy souldgems or how do they are called? and how will you do the base? i would add some scaven just for show there... or many ratswarms...

Another update, this time for a test colour on a flamer of tzeentch.
Kind of winged it with the colour scheme as i changed it about as i was going.
All i knew from the start was it would be a yellow/red colour lol.

So, some piccies, taken in daylight for once!

didn´t you want to go lava scheme on these? just asking...

the yellow is nice...and the idea to make blue flames still sounds nice too... but i think there is some blending needed...the transition between the white and the blue should be smoother...tho my nitpickyness might be due to the fact that the camera is so darn close^^ so some effects are a bit stronger... maybe with a not too closely taken pic then let us zoom in? that might make everything look better... also i see you had some slight focus problems...i get this also every time^^

I tried vik, i really did, but painting larva bases is 1 thing, painting a model like it, its evil
The ever changing contours of the model make it near on impossible to look half decent in larva.


There is no blending vik
Just wanted strong, cartoon like highlighting.
Decided to go for a much more stand out look for my tzeentch daemons.
Also, if you dislike painting teeth and eyes, stay away from these things



Edit: Keep in mind vik that my tzeentch units are hardly "normal" colours lol.
An example of one of my horrors (test scheme)

well that one i really like... reminds me of so many modern cinema character or from games... like the geenie from aladin and so on^^... the puple metal is working like a charm...

and i see comic like highlights... check! that you certainly di pretty well...

as for theeth... well that i probably could do... bnut for now i draw the line when it comes to hum sized eyes... that is something i won´t get done for quite some time^^

Like my sword painting guide vik, thats how the horrow was done

Painted mithril silver.
Skin washed twice with leviathan purple wash.
Metal washed twice with sepia wash.
Tongue washed twice with baal red wash.
eyes washed twice with thrakka green wash.
Teeth washed with badab then highlighted with mithril again.

Start to finish, 45 mins and about 20 of that is drying time between washes lol.

My kairos model is also shaded for extreme highlights lol, but that was done a while ago and needs to be re-done i think.
Looking very aged.

Eyes are fine for me, the flamers eyes are a tad small though, and theres 7 of them -_-

tonbgue is not showing

but other than that this is a very cool mini... groupshot maybe?

and yes... that flamer of yours is way more detailed and the scheme all in all way more complicated... no wonder it took yoou longer...
