Is this thread about purifiers or something else?
I think I might try to make purifiers a cc unit, free incinerators, followed by cleansing flame, and a couple of i6 power weapon attacks should be able to kill almost anything right?

@CKO-pretty much. You might still want to avoid assaulting 'Nids but...ya.
Also, one of my favourite things about GKs is that they can take assassins...might want to consider that...

pjmcgrath07 wrote:@Grey Templar - you think falchions are really justified, i mean i would still be putting out cleansing flame attacks & 12 i6 force weapon attacks if charged. The falchions would give me 2 more attacks but id be losing the i6 on 6 of my total attacks. I felt that they were better on units charging where here i think these units will be recieving the charge. Could be interesting to try out though...
I'll have to play test them and see if 4 psycannons is just too many to have as it starts to hamper cc ability or is the s7 4shots rending worth the melee sacrifice?
You seem really set on cc ability for these units. There's nothing wrong with that per say, but you are playing a foot slogging list with no means to quickly get them into combat besides walking/running. Again, purifiers are one of the best units in the game for cc power, but they also happen to be able to put out the same amount of firepower as an SM devastator squad. More when you count the stormbolters the rest are carrying.
Truthfully, it doesn't matter if you ran them with a transport or not, they will still spend the vast majority of the time shooting, whether that appeals to you or not. You want them to really shine in cc, you need the means to get them there quickly and in 1 piece. Land raiders, storm ravens and teleporting librarians can do that for them. Walking will not.
If you want melee in a GK footsloggers list, try interceptors. Those guys can reliably get in the enemy's face in 1 piece and dish out the damage. It isn't purifier level, but thats what you pay for in a trade off for mobility.

i really believe this list benefits by trying to get the purifiers to the center of the board. The weapons they have are all 24" range and excel there. This is not a charging ahead looking for closecombat unit. Most of the time they will be getting charged and thats why i like the 2 attacks and i6 on the purifiers.
so roughly
1-Crowe
3-10men, 6 halberd, 4 psycannons, 1 hammer
then probably run 2-3 dreadknights or an interceptor thrown in there. Any practical use for crowe? Just throw him in wit a purifier group?

You should find some wiggle room for a vindicare-they are just so good at killing leaders ( HQ) or sub-leaders (Sergeants, Commisars) and offer unbeleivably powerful support.

o'yeah, never leave home without the Vindicare.
the guy has an 91% chance of hitting(2+ with a 4+ reroll of 1s) and will average a 17 on the to penetrate roll against vehicles(4d6 avg=14, plus Str3=17) and is Ap1.
against infantry he causes 2 wounds with that round.
or he can wound on 2+
or remove invulns from characters.
