I just looked into this Createx stuff and ordered some. Im gona mix it into the paint and see how that stuff works.

What little I've done with it with my airbrush has been pretty cool, but doesn't really come across great in pictures...especially since I've only really used it on flat surfaces so far. I'll try to find some time to hand brush a bit soon though.

And hey, waddaya know, I actually follow through.



The purple there is a single layer of the createx iridescent purple applied by brush over a black basecoat. A bit sloppily, too, but I was getting kind of bored by that point. Please do not judge by the rest, as it's unfinished. I figured this would show off the really interesting bit-the iridescent purple-better than doing all the trim and whatnot over it.

So yeah, basically metallic, but with a few hints of crazy color in there.

Your Tyranid paintscheme is eerily similar to mine.

I don't have any painting tips (and I don't even own any Nids) but the resemblance is creepy. I think my torso is dark gray instead of black and the claw tips are orange for me. I really like the metallic gloss on Nids though, especially in game.
