the first thing i noticed was how uneven and blotchy the surface was looking in your photo's, If you want a good finish you have to start with a good base... I'd give serious concideration to finishing what your doing then stripping it and starting again from scratch that way you get the practice and once you've practiced enough you get to make a nice looking model?

Lols why don't you try some wet blending or some OSL or some plastic etching ? Or neutral base washing ? Or NMM ? Or some airbrushing or mouth brushing ? Or some wet oil marbleing effects ?

A bit if both .. I think this is the 4th thread on how to paint bestest wave serpent ? And each time he asks the same things then completely ignores the advice keeps stating that he's a gold deamon finalist and then starts a new thread asking the same thing again . Check out his demon prince threads all 8 of them ? . Through all this the good people of Dakka continue to give him realy good advice and feedback . All the techniques that I mentioned above are ones that would be usefull for his project its just up to him to look them up and see if they help and maybe try them and show his work so we can help him more ....

What he said. Thats why I had a dig, being a victim of the previous threads has led me to belive this one will be no different, to op if you want to try something to make your ws stand out try some free hand vines like on the biel-tan sceme. I have pics in my gallery if you "dont get what I mean"

It may be more helpfull to suggest the original poster work on basic techniques and not try to run before he can walk?? Yeah I'm talking to you.. We all want the shinyest best model we can do but we have to understand our skills and limitations, work on basic stuff once you have that in hand try new techniques.... And if people are offering you advice (which you have asked for) listen to it before you ignore it..

I do listen to advice, and it sounds mean as you write it, so by me reading it, it sounds like your yelling, and i am listening to your advice. And I am not striping the paint cuz I cant, and I have done too much work on it to just strip it!

Look, he's only 15 (according to his profile), so with no disrespect to the OP he's going to act like a 15 year old.

I completely understand that you felt you've tried to be helpful, but might I humbly suggest that if you don't like the OP's actions just stop looking at his threads.

Its just the fact he keeps making thread after thread. And being 15 isnt that young especialy given that most of the advice is basic info, he just needs to practice rather than try, dail, then make a thread about it.


Op, paint your ws how you want it to look, strip it, then repeat three times, the amount you will learn is worth more than 1000 posts on dakka.

Looking at the other thread the WS looks interesting. I'm actually kind of liking the orange stipling effect on the wings at the front though.

Fefofar, perhaps just post pictures of it in progress in this one, then the finished result in the showcase forum. That way you can ask questions as you go along and find help a little easier.

Right now the colors are clashing pretty badly, but Ive learned on DAKKA that WIPs are never what you judge the model on, Ive been fooled more then a few times.

But I agree, you should just keep the wips on this thread, making another thread about where you are at just clogs up the forums, as well as looses the wips in the process. Keep us posted, Im curious about hot pink guns.

The colour combination is ghastly and very harshly painted. Purple stripes and orange stippling? Are you aiming for a particular look or just making it up as you go along?

Im making it up as I go along, I always do that, even when I draw, I will post some pics soon, I have the glow effect on one wing, still experimenting on it, but i will post some pics for feedback
