If I were to regularly play in highly competitive games I'd probably consider not taking red paint on everything, but I mostly play more casual games. Taking red paint is one of the fun little extras I allow myself. Every once in a blue moon I get stopped during my movement phase by an opponent who calls me on moving too far only to reply to him, "Don't you know red wuns go fasta!"

Battlewagons are for going 12" to deliver assaulty goodness says Ghazghkull Thraka. There's not room for shootin' in there. A big shoota somewhere to suffer the consequences of a weapon destroyed result, but not really for shooting.
Agree, but I like wasting excess 5 points to upgrade the shoota to a kannon, they are a little something to do after being immobilized or a ram only needed 6" or less. Going to leave that one off the KFF wagon for now. Thanks for you input, going to put all that to a test next game.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

Two interesting titbits:
a) If you model the GW deffrolas on the BWs then it is virtually impossible to hide the side of BWs with another as the deffrolla sticks out approximately 2" and doesn't have the mass to hide the next deffrolla behind it. (Unless you agree tha the deffrolla doesn't count as hull)
b) With regard to leaving the BW trailing aprox. 2" behind the one at the forefront you will notice that due to the wider width of transport compartment compared to the drivers compartment, if you align them correctly they can almost click together leaving no space between each BW.

Hrm.
1. If you are immobilized, your KFF has Mek tools that can repair it. I often take a grot oiler for a second shot at repairing it, and my battlewagons have grot riggers. Chances of me staying immobilized are *very* small. I've got a 4+ to fix it, another 4+ to fix it, and a third 4+ to fix it if the first two didn't work.
2. You can't shoot battlewagon weaponry after ramming. Regardless of how far you actually move, you always count as having moved full speed. If you ram 2", you still count as having rammed 12". Not for determining the strength of your ram - that's still distance/3. But you can't declare a 1-6" ram, it is always as fast as you can go.

They still don't move during the fixing turn, time to shoot. Also not all of them have a big mek embarked.

Rechecked the rules, you're right. It states ramming vehicles may not shoot during that turn. This actually makes the kannon much less interesting, except for a burna wagon maybe. Automatically Appended Next Post: sn0zcumb3r wrote:Two interesting titbits:

First thing I do in every game, is inform my opponent that my deff rollas are not part of the hull, and will remove them whenever they are in the way. Up until now every opponent agreed on this or didn't care either way.

Why not convert one to have shallower sides and a wider front? http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/389967-Ork%20Hova%20Ship.html?m=2 I wouldn't call it modelling for benifits because a wide battlewagon does mean it can't move through narrow bits. It does hit more things on a deffrolla attack though I've generally found that there shouldn't ever be more than 2 battlewagons in an 1750 point game though as that strength 4 hit to everything inside hurts, ALOT. Hide it with trukks, even if you have to convert the trukks from tanks so you have the flat ground, people can't see through the tires if it has no tires

30 Orks by Foot.
17-20 in a Battlewagon.
12 in a Trukk.
I want offical rules for the Super-Ork that the Mad Dok is working on... |

19 months, actually. Locking for thread necromancy.
But for the record...
Because that would be modeling for advantage. Changing the model to gain a tactical benefit.
I wouldn't call it modelling for benifits because a wide battlewagon does mean it can't move through narrow bits.(
The occasions when you'll have an impassible gap too narrow are practically nonexistent. And it can re-roll difficult. So the instances in which it being wider are a problem are practically nonexistent. Whereas the occasions when it's a benefit are practically every game.
