I can see the Battalion bit - on page 95 - it is £70, and it just has artwork on the front, rather than the models inside.

The DE flyer + maybe new stats for other factions' forgeworld models is a far cry from what the rumour originally said.

Yea the pic pretty much convinces me its for DE. If it wasnt, why only mention DE and only show DE? Make more sense to mention "Prepare for battles on the earth and in the sky" or something and show some art of ships normally not used in 40k

So yea, nothing definitively saying this'll be an expansion; just looks like a Dark Eldar release. Was Stickmonkey the sole source of these rumors about a flier expansion?

I dont get your point. Thats just random speculation with no real backing. DE have flyer vehicles stated as fast skimmers much like IG valks and Marine Storm Ravens. Did the latter 2 get any of these "something to shoot at which could be any number of opposing flyers or AA kits" ?

Yea, short of it actually being an expansion with something for everyone, GW doesn't seem to do paired, 'versus' releases as of late.

Guess we have to wait another 4 weeks, if this is a WD with flyer rules. Or 2 weeks to see the preorders.

Yeah for those who missed it, the picture was the back cover and it does indeed say 'Murderous Skies' not 'Wartorn Skies.'

As a dark eldar player i really like the name murderous skies a lot. I must pick up the june issue then, and i am already broke at the moment.

If it is just DE hopefully it will spread to the other armies...

If you were to pretend you hadn't heard any rumors about a fliers expansion(such as getting an email reply from Forge World when inquiring as to the status on the Thunderbolt kit and if it was still being produced in high numbers and getting a reply of "We replaced the mold a year back in preparation for something that was pushed to next year"), even from sources outside of Stickmonkey, that would be silly.

However, it does seem likely that given the Wartorn Skies release is pegged for June/July according to some folk--we could very well see the Dark Eldar wave coming before the actual release.

June is DE and July is Storm of Magic. When is 'Wartorn Skies' supposed to slot in exactly?

Do you really think that they can't fit in a multi-race release alongside of the Dark Eldar?

Why does everyone keep using 'Wartorn Skies'? Was it mentioned anywhere besides the OP as misreading the text of the page or am I missing something?

I don't think it's a general habit for GW. Compare Spearhead, which had its own release month.

Your stance of them "not releasing a Dark Eldar flyer for a flyer expansion" is kinda silly with the point that I pretty much just spelled out at you.

GW has a history of doing "tie-in" releases with the bigger stuff. The Dark Eldar release will likely be larger than what anyone else gets--but so what?

The leaps of logic you're taking here are pretty amazing. Spearhead was a release which was done as in its own slot, and announced as such. They didn't announce 'Spearhead - an Eldar release!' and then slip in a few other bits, they announced Spearhead, an expansion in which a bunch of factions got releases. I wasn't around for Apocalypse but I'm gonna guess that was released as 'Apocalypse this month, here's some kits for various factions as well' and not 'Apocalypse, a Space Marine release - btw here's an expansion we didn't bother mentioning as well.' Contrast this - it's a Dark Eldar release in which a single 'flyer' is appearing with a splash page whose title is kinda similar to a rumoured title for an expansion; as well as the Razorwing we're also supposedly expecting a bunch of other DE releases which have nothing to do with fliers or a summer thereof.

The sheer desperation of the people who want this 'summer of fliers' thing to be real is honestly kinda pathetic. The marketing is nothing like anything else GW have ever done for an expansion, it explicitly names a particular race which has already been officially announced as being the release for June and about which we know plenty including exactly which kits are supposed to be coming out (which was passed on by consistently reliable rumour guys, not Stickmonkey), and literally the only connection to the 'summer of fliers' is that the splash page has a similar title and a 'flier' is part of the release. And yet even with all of this people are still going 'two more weeks' and insinuating that GW will change the habit of the past few years JUST for this release, honest guys, really.
