I used to paint in lounge, and watch tv, shortly after it was redecorated with new quite expensive cushion covers I gave a pot of red paint a good shake, and some leaked out the sides, I tried to rub it off with a damp cloth but it only spread it around and worked it deeper in. I just turned them over, and it was months before anyone ever noticed.

I love the Vallejo dropper bottles to death. They're wonderful in every way. Except for the one time I was trying to squirt a single drop out of a brand new bottle of Beasty Brown, only to find it was clogged, and me, possessing the male stupid gene, decided to squeeze harder, and harder, and harder, until i learned that the tip of the bottle wasn't on very tight as it shot off like it was fired from a cannon and the entire contents of the bottle were now a thick, even coat of brown over my painting desk, a dozen half-finished models, several brushes, the bottom half of my shirt and the lap of my pants.

i had an incident involving a pot of gw's horridly thick varnish. i had just finished painting my chaos titan's when i decided it would be a good idea to put some wet looking gore effects between the toes, (to show that they had both crushed their enemies) and as i opened the pot, i sneezed and sent the pot flying. the varnish oozed into my box of bits, heads and the like, where it remained for a few days, as i ended up in hospital with concusion from hitting my head hard on the tables edge while sneezing.
i also bled on the new carpet my wife bought that day...

Two nights ago had a tub of Adeptus battlegrey with a slightly stiff lid as it was brand new. Attempting to force it open thing pins out my hand. sites across my painting table and is about to roll of the edge.

I dive to grab it, fail in this an send it flying across the room.... It lands open end down on my bed spread... which is cream....

Write off one duvet.

Both my fiancée and I seem to have a thing about knocking over any new paints or washes we buy.

We've never (or at least haven't yet) wasted a whole pot or ruined anything that a run through the washing machine or a bit of scrubbing couldn't fix but I'm just waiting for the day that our carpet gets a permanent tinge of Boltgun Metal or something else equally noticeable.

Hmmm let me think ... the worst was when I was painting my Goblins a few (8-10) years back. I opened the lid of an old pot of Snakebite Leather (the pots with the white plastic lid) when my phone rang. I laid the lid losely on the pot, took up the phone and after 5-10 minutes, came back to my table to continue. Of course I had forgotten that the pot was already open, so I picked it up and shook it vigurously... needless to say, it ended up EVERYWHERE - minis, carpet, clothing - some drops even flew to my bed.

Well I learned my lesson after this :
1. light brown isn't too bad on wood furniture
2. always check the pots before trying to shake them

I squeezed a drop bottle of Vallejo red paint once too hard, the eye drop part popped out, along with red paint all over my kitchen floor and cabinets.

I have a terrible habit of not closing all my lids of my paints, so I am sitting at a desk that is far too small for me, covered in open pots. My mum had said not to paint in my room as the "fumes will kill me". She was out so I could not me arsed to go into out garage. She then burst through the door and I think Sh** and jump -> small desk -> paint everywhere, desk, me and carpet, I think some school work too

OH BOY! ANOTHER SPILL FOR ME!

I was doing up the parchment on the Librarian from Space Hulk using my usual parchment method: Dheneb Stone washed with Gryphonne Sepia. The Dheneb Stone went down without incident, but as I dipped my brush into the pot of wash, my stupid allergies kicked in and I let out a really violent sneeze, causing my arm to suddenly jerk forwards, sending the pot of wash flying, leaving a trail of golden brown along my painting table and a good splat on the wall, in not quite the brown I painted my painting room.

I bet I'm going to be the first person to ever accidentally kill themselves or someone else by a painting mishap.

Back in 2002 or 2003, after the "new" (for the time) Land Raider was out, a buddy of mine and I each bought one. I had some other models to complete first, so he got his done up in a beautiful desert camo with a fully painted interior.

He wanted to show me his new airbrush and how he used it to paint parts on the sprue, so we did the interior in Space Wolf Grey, which gave it a very "space shuttle" color. I started picking out the details, and he decided to do up the exterior bits in Dark Angels Green (since I played DA) while I worked on that. He didn't have any DA green, though, so he borrowed mine, which was a super thick paint I always had to thin to use.

So, he pours it straight into the cup, and of course it clogs. And just like the previous bestial brown story in this thread, what does he do? He runs more pressure to his airbrush. At which point it blows out the clog, and splatters DA green all over my still on-the-sprue land raider, but also WAY past it right onto his awesome desert camo land raider.

After that, it became a forest camo land raider.

I once spilled a whole bottle of Green ink all over my painting desk and into the floor. As I quickly tried to move my foot so the ink didnt get on me, the underside of my foot caught a metal tab I had clipped off a model. Not only was their green ink running all over the uncarpeted floor, but blood was gushing out of my foot. The floor looked like a christmas nightmare....

Somewhere, doing somthing, of very little intrest for others!

I have 2 but one is my friend's.
1. He had just finished painting his Kroot squad and was quite proud of it. He had a spare so let his friend paint it. His friend was using a blue wash and did not put the lid on. Went to grab another paint the acciendently knocked the wash all over my friends kroot squad.
2. I was using a graveyard earth. The paint had gone all watery and so I shaked it, not realising I had not the lid down. Luckily I did not get a drop of paint on me but the same could not be sayed about my hobby area. Dreanched in a horrible brown colour. I mangaed to get it off with a lot of kitchen role. Jaun Sheet is such a liar! ¬¬

Never trust adverts good sir

Funny the most serious ones I've done are the same in a sense - knocked over a paint from my painting tray on my desk to the carpet. First was Chaos black on Orange carpet. Not happy parents and a very big stain. Next was Calthan Brown on a darker brown carpet. Somehow nobody's noticed that one yet
