I use a combination of both Warriors and Wyches, and both have their uses.

I use a single unit of 20 Warriors with a Haemmy to hold down a single objective close to my deployment zone, and three units of Wyches for general killy-ness and objective sweeping mounted in Raiders with enhanced aethersails for fast transport and last minute contesting.

I have won a lot of my games by holding the single objective with the Warriors and sweeping the enemy off all of the other ones with the Wyches. The Dark Eldar work better as a combined force than as a homogenized force.

most people dont take enough anti infantry. or if they do that anti infantry ends up being used against DE cardboard boxes. You can of course use this to your advantage but eventually it may bite you.

Also its easy to get pain tokens against guard, but against other armies it can be more difficult.

The same day I faced BA, and that unit almost killed most of a death company unit with one round of shooting, didn't get any pain token from it, since I left 2 guys and the chaplain alive, but any other marine unit that size would have died. I've run the numbers, in rapid fire range it should kill about 5 marines per turn.

I do agree that many people aren't taking enough anti infantry, and relying on assault to kill units and their shooting to take out tanks. When they face a DE army with ork like numbers, marine effective shooting, and anti assault units like wyches (which aren't great in killing in CC, but are at negating enemy assault units), they tend to not know what to do. Once the gunboats are down, they are still facing 60 or so bodies, and are like, ok... what now? Use melta guns and lascannons to kill 9-12 pt models?

Also, I lost the game against guard by like 3 kill points, stupid harmies getting gibbed after getting shot out of their raider, was playing one of the worst missions for DE vs guard, KPs and spearhead, but nearly table the BA player (dawn of war and 3 objectives). The warriors were actually more effective in the BA game. Even though they never got their pain token, they let my wyches have a easy time getting theirs. Since they didn't die despite getting shot at for 2 rounds by a dakk baal that didn't ever miss (wyches haywired it after consolidating from combat, those girls are fast!), they capped the winning KP.

Well thats fine, I just dont think it works so well against an opponent who tailors his list against you. With the love or lascannons and meltaguns though it sounds like it would work great.

I don't generally have to deal with list tailoring, i don't think we have anybody in our local crowd who would even tolerate it. Our local nid player did change his list in response to being tabled though, he didn't like all of his warriors/raveners dieing to S8, and his stealers beaten in CC by wyches. Now he has more gaunts, less big bugs, and a more balanced list that is actually more challenging to beat even with other armies.

I have only played two games with my Dark Eldar but I really love the performance of my wyches. I would value warriors as equal if I could get a dark lance in a squad of five. Forcing me to go to 10 for the DL isn't good IMO, so I take 5 with a blaster. Still good but I'd rather sit and shoot from farther back.

that or being able to get2 blasters in a squad of 10 and 4 in a squad of 20 would do a lot to helping their cause.

Warriors are a cheap platform for both a blaster and deal cannon venom on top of being scoring. They are GREAT for what they do, you know.
