There is no 'bathing in blood', the bandwagon is not a place you want to be.

I think the idea behind the current Jokaero is that they can't communicate with the Inquisitors and aren't too bothered about their situation when on the battlefield. The Imperium pushes a weapon or other piece of technology, and they improve it or make an entirely new thing.

They apparently also go into battle alongside daemonhosts these days. So, y'know, there's that.

Well the Grey Knights are a load of radicals now, so it fits that daemonhosts would be allowed. I wonder if you could make a puritan xenos force, using grey knights to represent deathwatch and leaving all the alien tech at home.

Basically, the new codex gives you the options to make a lot of great inquisition theme armies, at the expense of being able to make super unfluffy armies too. I would rather have that than a very strict codex.

Since we've already had Ordo Malleus Inquisitors utilising Daemonhosts, and Ordo Hereticul Inquisitors utilising witches as an established part of the fluff for more than a decade now, do you really need it explained yet again that certain elements of the Inquisition are willing to use whatever tools they think will achieve their objectives?

Jokeros were invented in crazy early Rogue trader days around the pun "digital weapons" (=weapons hidden in fingers=digits!).

That's not really a pun... any more than 'power sword' is a pun because it's a sword that, you know, is powered.

Grey Knights fuel anything with Demons now. Demon swords, demon guns, demon tanks, demon toasters...They are just a bunch of guys in warded armor, nothing more. They are worse at staying pure than sisters. Basically, it's Codex Exorcists. So, yeah.

On the matter of Jokaero...they used to be extinct/refusing contakt with the Imperium. Cause, well, you can't really explain the matter of technical stagnation and loss of means to produce Digital Weapons, TDA and other fancy stuff if you have the best engineers in the galaxy on your payment list.

You can if there aren't very many of them, and they just produce random stuff... So having one on the payroll might mean you get some awesome digital weapons. Or it might just mean you get the Toaster of Doom.

They're not in an Ordo Malleus army. They're in Codex: Grey Knights, but they're there as a part of the Inquisition as a whole... It's no longer a Malleus-only book. It's an Inquisition book that focusses on Grey Knights as the primary militant arm of the Inquisition.

^This.

If it makes you feel better, the book caters to both the 'puritan' and the 'radical' of several ordos.
Whether your army is Puritan or Radical fluffwise depends on what units you take.

Malleus with daemonhosts? Radical.
Xenos with Jokaero? Radical.
Hereticus without sisters? Radical. (heh).

If you want to go 'puritan' just don't use any of those units. Simple.

Jokaero have been around since the RT days. They are aliens but not regarded as "sentient" by the Imperium, and are considered useful, so are therefore not considered a threat (unlike the orks, eldar, Tau or others.)

I'm struggling to think of what aside from a different single miniature. It only cost a small amount of extra time writing the entry and play testing it a couple of times and getting one of their designers to sculpt the model, about what goes into any single model. That's not really 'so much'.

I seem to remember Codex:Necrons talking about how the Jokaero were created by the old ones in their last desperate wave of creations when things were going bad.

I read that humans were one of their last creations...
A mix between Orks and Eldar.
They have the innate fighting and understanding of war and far larger population size than Eldar but can become far more organised and skilled than the Orks can.
That would make the whole Jokaaero=ape thing kinda weirdly make sense.

The use of the Jokero in the Grey Knights actually stems from a misunderstanding that was a result of having conversations with the Eldar. They kept calling them Mon'Keighs.
