The rules for the Corsairs are in IA11. Which is supposed to hit sometime in the next two months.

In the meantime, they're just 'counts as'. Interestingly enough, FW has made a point to say that "Corsairs come from the Craftworlds or Commoragh" so it's not absurd to use these guys as stand-in Scourges for a less-spiky Dark Eldar force. Although they've also said that the kits work with both Dark Eldar and Craftworld Eldar kits.

You have got to be kidding?

Seriously, the only reason Dark Reapers can tote heavies is due to their armour incorporating anti-grav suspensors... not to mention the targeting systems in their helms.

How are these guys gonna hit anything?

Coz they be pirates! Arrrr

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

I'm not seeing why the Guardians toting heavy weapons is such a big deal.

Kabalite Warriors do it with their Splinter Cannons and Darklances. The explanation is there's suspensors built into the gun.

You know the Chapterhouse lawsuit stated that they were selling lower quality merchandise? I'm not a fan of most chapterhouse stuff, but if this is forgeworlds effort, I can see the courtcase going like this.

'And this is all the ways they have infringed our Intellectual Property, and are sullying the fine and previously utterly untarnished name of Games Workshop through their sale of shoddy product' states the GW lawyer.

Chapterhouse lawyer gets up 'Exhibit 1 your honour. Forgeworld shoulderpads for Salamanders. I rest my case so I can eat this tasty taco which combined with this bottle of scotch is my fee for appearing in this case'.

The judge stands up 'I acquit on all counts! Oh, and Matt Ward to spend 30 days in detention for allowing 72psycanon shots a turn in a 2000 point army. Case Dismissed. Oh, that taco smells good!'

Please note this is NOT an attempt to reopen the lawsuit debate, nor should others debate it. Its just when I saw those salamander shoulderpads I was looking forward to, I went 'Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn it' and this came to mind. And I possibly wanted taco's.

On the eldar figs - is it me, or do the dark eldar weapons just look...... cooler? And like they wern't just made up one day?

Here's hoping that you can nab the heavy weapons individually. I'd love to use some of the shuricannons for my exodite guardian "jetbikes".

So Jetpacks are relentless, right? Which still allows the heavy weapons to move and fire...

For those of you new to 40k, these guys are the spitting image of many Eldar pictures from the Rogue Trader era.

Yes, there was a time when Eldar carried heavy weapons and had those wings.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Well I'm just making sure it's known.

Plus Forge World said it in the email where they announced the Corsair Conversion kit and the enclosed War Walker

My god these look awful. It's like a storm guardian, dark reaper, and swooping hawk had an orgy and gave birth to them. When people this of corsairs they thing of pirates, not half arsed dragonflys made of a bunch of kit's pieces.

1. Buy Rogue Trader
2. Find the section for Eldar
3. Examine the picture of Eldar Raiders flying into assault on dragon-fly style wings
4. Translate 15 year old concept art into modern miniature.

I agree that the added bits are essentially resin versions of aspect warrior bits and would rather see more entirely new sculpts, maybe along the lines of over-the-shoulder heavy weapons (like my own conversions) but these are nice.

Those Sallie pads bug me for some reason. I think the positioning of the 'eye' so bloody high up on the symbol is part of it, and the painting is surprisingly lackluster by FW's usual standards...

Hawks, Dragons, Reapers, even some scorpions or banshees with the sword/pistol plus those masks.

hmmm... I can hear my wallet screaming.

Why not simply mix and match existing aspect pieces with the guardians?

They seem to be multipart enough without buying over-priced, warped resin from FW

hmm... not their typical presentation method either... maybe someone did them as a 'test' and they figured it was better than throwing up resin only shots?

Ugh. The corsairs looked ridiculous from the start, and giving them all bigger guns doesn't help. Most of forgeworld's new Eldar stuff is cool, but these are awful. While I understand that they are a throwback to old school Eldar, that doesn't mean that they are good.

I think the Sally Marines pads are fine, and they are just poorly painted. I say that because each eye looks somewhat different despite them being an identical pad with different gubbins pasted onto it.

Honestly.... I think they are trash, and I don't say that about much Forge World puts out. The whole model is bad, they look like eldar dragonflys imo. I would call them lazy as there is basically NOTHING "new" about them. They have guardian bodies, the heads of Vyper gunners and the winds of a very large insect. Eldar players already have guardians, both storm and defender, I'm not sure they needed another type. I think the real problem is GW doesn't know where to go w/ Eldar. They are slowly losing what made that army unique and now I think they are struggling to keep them "specialized". Ofcourse they ARE filthy Xenoes and have it coming but I'm just say'n.

As far as those Sali shoulder guards go they are pretty decent I thought. Forge World seldom releases anything thats not atleast "ok". The Chaos upgrade kits are what I've been really impressed with recently and I'd really like to see them release the and versions.

These are gorgeous, and get me properly excited about the Eldar range.

I think reposing of legs is in order to make them look like they're flying. Maybe mixing in Swooping Hawk and Shadow Spectre pieces, or Dark Eldar components.

I really like the reference to the old Rogue Trader art.

The crisp paintjobs are also a huge step up from the Wasp.
