I'm not sure I like the idea of your standard Eldar CARRYING a Heavy Weapon (like a Space Marine; they should use platforms as they do all ready IMHO), but they certainly look really good.

They look pretty sweet, shame there isn't really anything you could use tham as a "counts as" in the codex.

LOL... Eldar guardian sprue with Dark Reaper heavy weapons and dragonfly wings?

You have got to be kidding?

Seriously, the only reason Dark Reapers can tote heavies is due to their armour incorporating anti-grav suspensors... not to mention the targeting systems in their helms.

How are these guys gonna hit anything?

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Given they appear to be a more mobile force that doesn't have time to set up heavy weapon platforms, the man-portable heavy weapons make sense to me.

And I have to say, after the astonishingly good shoulder pads that come with Sevin Loth's Command Squad... the Sallie pads are a big let down.

Well, the Dark Eldar can already carry their Lances like this.

Isnt the platform more for the move and fire anyways?

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time...

Actually, this would be an awesome basis for an Ulthwe Guardian force that could still have "Aspect Warriors" but dressed-as-guardians. Would look fluffy and cool on the tabletop.

Hawks, Dragons, Reapers, even some scorpions or banshees with the sword/pistol plus those masks.

hmmm... I can hear my wallet screaming.

From a purely personal point of view (I have 6k of Salamanders) I will agree with you.. What is off about them (besides the bad official photo and prep), I cant put my finger on it..

Definitely don't like the Eldar models. Shame that. Yet another bunch of eldar guys in exactly the same pose *yawn*.

Really crappy paint job on the shoulder pads... but there's something off with the shape of the heads maybe?

The shoulder pad in the top right corner looks like it's chipped on it's bottom edge. the rest of it could be the paint...

On the topic of the Eldar kit, it looks cool, even if I have no use for them.

Thing that throws it off in the painted example, at least for me, is that the 'brow' of the drake head is so damned thin.

You don't even really notice it's there, it looks like it's a stray paintbrush mark.

Oh common, what are the rules already?? I don't see many buying these models without knowing how to use them, or even whether they'll actually be any good...

Though I am loving this Eldar love FW is giving...
