Very nice mate. I love that blue. One concern though - the tassle on the cloak?

It's also oddly nice how well the BA and DA bits just blend and don't seem out of place if painted right!

@Flying Pooo thanks alot! I'll sure try! I have 3 vets and the apothecary to go, so i'll do my best to keep it up!

@DarkStarSabre thanks too! I appreciate the feedback. and with the tassle - when I paint my capes I imagine the tassle being made of the same material, and being the same colour. But we all have different interpretations, so there you go!

But thanks alot guys!

Good stuff going on here, don't think i'm being rude but I can actually see your work getting better the more you paint! I'm really impressed with your robe on the command squad guy with the templar body! very nice job, good colour and blending, and the red cloak is really nicely done too!

so i suppose you should keep it up! you have quite an impressive army at the moment, maybe you could treat all of us (your loyal followers) with a group shot of the entire army?

happy painting LDP! :-)

Seconded. A group shot would be most appreciated. And yes, it is improving the more you paint.

I was very busy this weekend and couldn't get much work done at all.
All I did was the apothecary's helmet. He is the 2nd command squad member I am painting, and i'll probably do more work tomorrow
until then,

Hey lads, more work.
Everything is now basecoated blue / black respectively, and i've done the white parts. And on Friday I will post a sort of 'diorama' of my completed models for my friend Nerdfest09, whose blog can be found here by the way, check it out, it's great! : http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/356350.page [and anyone else interested, like DarkStarSabre]

I'm also very interested to see what you guys' opinions are on this 'counts as' Shrike I modelled from miscellanious bits and pieces from around, and want your advice on the best pose, please post your opinions guys!!
C&C welcome!

Anyway, on to the pics, i'll try to finish the apothecary either tomorrow or the day after

until then!

Gotta say that I personally like pose 3 for the Shrike 'counts as' whilst the there is nothing wrong with the other 2 poses they are fairly generic and you see lots of them, you dont see many like pose 3 which is a pity, you get the feeling that if he fires his jump pack someone is getting impaled at high speed.

Just one other thing, there is a little bit of mold lines/flashing on that model, I trust that will be cleaned prior to painting, nothing worse than seeing a really nice model with obvious mold lines it can spoil the overall effect.

That being said there are some really cool ideas there, keep it up

Really good attention to detail there and I love the kitbashing.

Small update [very small ]

@Asylum_Inmate I do agree, I was fond of both the 1st and 3rd poses, and realise now that the fisrt one is pretty generic and the 3rd is pretty badass so i'll go with it.

@Wazzdig Dagga Thanks! One of my favourite things about the hobby is the kitbashing you can do!

Anyways the small update is that i'm changing the termie honours shoulder pad on the apothecary because it'll be on the wrong side. Nothing major, the apothecary shoulder needs to go there, for obvious reasons, he's still been a termie before!!

Your apothecary helmet is great! a real crisp layering of colour and the lenses and light look fantastic, this is what i'm talking about when I can see your improvements! if you keep this up at this rate you'll be amazingly good before we know it! :-)

Seriously, I think you've done a really good job! well done dude!

I have to agree with nerdfest09, your painting-fu has definitely progressed better and better since you first started this thread. I love that your use of the Blood Angels bitz has given your boys a "gothic" feel, there is so much detail and everyone has their own individuality. I'm def. subscribing!

Sigh

I typed everything, and it was all ready and loading the pics, when my internet disconnected, so this is my second time writing this.

I did more work on the apothecary, he'll be done by tomorrow almost certainly.
I did some tonal modelling on the light on the backpack but its hard to see in pic form

I'm going to try and update the blog once a day, but the posts will probably be relatively minor (considering how long it takes me to paint stuff :L)

anyways, on to the pics.

Until then,

Hurrah! He's finally done! 'Brother Aeven' - My Apothecary.

It was a pretty tidious miniature to paint, and there was heaps of details because of all the kitbashes etc, but I think it came out pretty good. Tell me what you guys think!

I still love that blue sir. Probably because it's so much darker in appearance than GW's own soft smurf blue. And the different kits in that command squad mesh so well together.
