Very nice, I love the Style reminds me of the old style painting in the early 90's with lots of black lining which I really like.

Hey guys,
sorry that I haven't updated the past two days, I haven't felt inspired and didn't get much work done.
But recently I modelled the plastic chaplain into a way cooler pose, (he looks great now! I'm definately gunna paint him soon.), as well purchased a normal command squad which I will run in games. They be kitted out with 4x meltas.

Hey lads
I took advantage of the long weekend and did a fair bit more work then I usually do, so I basecoated all the command squad members bodies and legs and washed them, completed all the veterans helmets (im yet to do the apothecary one though - I need a break from them!! ). I also basecoated all the meltas, and did a fair bit of work on the chaplain

Nice work LDP! really like your chaplain, it's funny but I just swapped the head on my ven dread for that exact helmet today! great minds dude, great minds! I think it looks a touch more sinister without being too chaos-y? the vets are looking good as well, I like the way you're doing the helmets they look really nicely done and gritty! if you can perservere and get all the armour as good looking then you'll definitely have a force that wouldn't look out of place on any battlefield! keep it up dude, you know we'll be watching!

Hey guys, basecoated all the models details in black, and finished the meltas. I also did a test on one side of one of the chaplains wings in order to see how I should go about doing it, what do you guys think? I also got some close-up shots of the helmets that are finished, and @DarkStarSabre i'm sorry I forgot to get that side pic of the chaplain, i'll try to remember tomorrow! D: If you really want to know it really is just the same down the side until it comes to the metally bits.
anyways, on to the part all you guys love, the pics!! Here they are, enjoy.

The feathers on the wing look like they could do with another layer or a sharp highlight to bring them out a bit.
Those helmets on the other hand - the weathering and freehand are quite impressive though I'm not 100% sure about the orange - perhaps darkening it a tone or two?

Really? I'm a fan of the sharpness of the orange, perhaps in future I should do a blood red layer first, slightly thicker?

I -like- that. The pose is superb. There's just the right amount of weight in that pose. He looks as though he's just fired the melta and is about to stride forward to finish off the thing he shot!

Hey guys, got the captain up to the same stage as the rest of the squad. I'm very glad how the wash dried, looks great IRL, doesn't come out as nicely on camera, but its really smooth, and sort of weathered. It's gunna match the whole look nicely
More to come,

Did some shots of the finished units in my army (there are alot more, but I only took ones that had their bases done too).
Enjoy the pics, finally posted
What I need to do is work on more normal infantry, because I only have like 10 finished models, most of which are older and I dont want to use.
I'll get onto that when my command squads are done.

Looking really nice again LDP, your army is coming along nicely! quite a force so far, but i can imagine them bursting out of a transport and looking at each other "hey, where are the troops? didn't you bring them?" "nah, i thought you were organising the tac squads?" "Dammit!" :-)
you've obviously been working hard on these guys and your patience is paying off with a nice army using bits from everywhere to give it some character without going crazy and spending hours on each one! keep it up dude! if you need any parts or anything just let me know and i'll see if i can help you out! :-)

Haha Nerdfest thanks man!
I'd love to discuss what parts one another has, I have a ton of parts to keep me going though but we could probably organise some form of trade - Yeah, i've made a pact to paint everything I have before buying anything else - which will probably be very hard to stick to, but i'll do my best!
Anyway, the order i'm planning to do stuff in is as follows:
Command squad/s
Tactical squads
rest of my Devastators
Shooty termies
Dreadnought
Ironclad Dread
vanguard kitbash perhaps
Rhino
All this before I get more -NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I'm sure i'll manage, anyways, until then lads!! See you all soon!

Thanks Lindsay! I do like the way I paint white, with all the thick black lines, but the truth is, I USEEE ASTRONOMICAN GREEYYYY It's not actually white - but hey, it all follows the sort of "Darker" scheme of my Ultras.
