Played a game just yesterday against a Landraider.

I attacked it with a Dread and successfully immobilized it and blew off a weapon.

After that the thing suffered about 8 more Dreadnaught auto-hit attacks... and all I did was keep stunning it.

That's just how the dice treat you sometimes.

You should have rolled all your dice one at a time. This pleases the dice gods.

Wow this has been a really informative read. I'd forgotten about furious charge on PKs so thought they would only be able to glance.

Quick question on the Deffrolla. Does it get d6 hits against vehicles too?

Thanks again for the great information. I'll pass this along to my Ork-playing buddy.

^ Yes, it does, because ramming is a form of tank shocks.

Aha. When I first looked in the dex I was thinking that wouldn't work. It seems the Deffrolla really stands out as an easy to manage and effective option then. Unless there's something I'm missing.

No, you aren't missing anything, deffrolla is about the only thing keeping orks playing in 5th, with their dismal other options at anti tank. If GW had ruled against them against vehicles (which was quite possible, and many thought was going to be the correct FAQ) orks would be nearly useless in competitive settings (which might be the reason why they rule that way, plus they had just released the official model...).

And they can charge extra money for deff rollas on top of the expensive model
No one would buy the upgrade sprue for the other stuff...

i used 1 inch pvc pipe and added some cut up pieces of sprue super glued on to add spikes.

worked pretty well, you do have to rough up the pvc surface for it to take paint though i used 400 grit sand paper for this

not to burst everbosies bubble, but i think pk with charge are only strength 9, so yes with enough attacks you could do it, but not the most reliable.

the rule book specifically states that you double then add the strength

S9 is still enough to penetrate it, as you can't really kill AV14 with glancings.

If you field 6,480 orks in an Appoc game you will roll over pretty much anything.

that one PK nob has looooooooootttttttsssss of ablative wounds

Not really reliable; it the gigantic footprint makes it not hard for a walker to tarpit the entire unit and make it impossible for the Nob to get to the moshpit. (Yes, the example is a parody, but the criticism of green tide still applies.) Fortunately, Apoc presents all manner of anti-AV14 options

Haha, yeah, Orks can have a problem with that if they don't take the right stuff. We were playing with bastions this weekend and my friend was forced to repeatedly ram one of mine until he managed to break it.

lots and lots of 6s hopefully.

a glancing rokkit is okay, dont need things destroyed, often a stun or immobilised will be okay then we smash them with PKs
