SO we are on the same path. I dont like the green plauge marines either. Mine are more of a dirty brown. Love the conversion work that you have been doing. Loooks awesome. How or what did you use to make those white pipes from the faces to the bodies on some of your conversions. looks great but its not guitar strings.

The resin pipes came for Zinge industries - they do all sorts of useful little resin bits - the pipes look great but have a tendency to split if bent too far. I had to use them (because of my self imposed bits box rule). A better alternative are the metal cables from Dragonforge - they are ridiculously easy to use and now my bits box is empty I can order some more!

I've signed up to the open '40k pimp my wizard' blog and I intend to nurglify the tzeentch chaos wizard into a nurgle (giant) fly raptor CSM (I make a whole squad if the first one works out). After the paint is finished on the termies - the 3 plague marine squads will get their greenstuff treatment.

Any Thoughts?

Laney, these are awesome! I really like your rusty Nurgle termis. A welcome change from all that green (not that there's anything wrong with green Nurgle stuff). I'm totally surprised you're not getting more comments. Are you gonna rust out that vindicator or will it be green like your CSM lord? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Brilliant stuff on the terminators and excellent GS work all around great to see.

Thanks for the comments guys - helps to motivate me on this project!

The vindicator will definitely be rusty like the first squad - the whole army will end up that way (I may use the green nurgle lord - as he will really stand out). Lots more models (3 plague marine squads to finish - plus I caved and bought the finecast plague marine box - not allowed to touch it until the bitsbox models are finished though!) and greenstuff to come now that I've shown off the army colour scheme.

Current priorities: Finish crashed thunderbolt fighter scenery piece, finish the details on the terminators, greenstuff 21 power armoured nurgle marines! (and create my chaos lord - code name 'flylord'!)

THIS

THREAD

IS

AWESOME!!!

Wow! I am really impressed and loving those conversions! I am wicked bummed I didn't find this sooner (quick note to my friends that have already posted here and didn't tell me about this- Gee guys, thanks. ) but I'm glad to be here now. It's cool to see that you decided to keep the Vindicator and not rip it down to a Rhino. I think you'll enjoy playing it and the conversion possibilities are endless. All of your conversions so far are well done. The Terminators are just perfect. So much detail into each model, really great stuff you have here.

My Death Guard started back in the mid 90's and when I got interested in it again in 2010 I kept going w/ a similar color scheme. If I had it to do over again from the start it would be more subdued / mottled drab.

Subbed and looking forward to seeing more. Excellent work so far and I expect everything to come will be as amazing.

Your doing a great job. way to stay on top of the motivation thing. I lost all motivation to finish my DG about a week ago, hopefully this helps me keep motivated. I like the banner bearer. Awesome.

I plan to greenstuff the other 13 over the next couple of days and then go back to some more terminators (which need a lot of work!)

Hi All!

The next competition is DIG IN! (Fortifying a ruin or non-military terrain - no bunkers!) Any ideas for what I could do? So far I have a crashed warhound shell turned into a mini-fort or a 40k fortified school bus!

On a side question: Anyone know if the chaos lord with death screamer daemon weapon is any good? (I know it's Tzeentch, but I thought in terminator armour it might make a decent nurgle count as, with 'vomit cannon')

Ok - sorry for huge gap between posts - no more to report on the Legion of Rust. However, I've created a new Imperial Guard Squad to play the 40k Skirmish Game Deathsquads with. They are the 41st Britannicus Cluster Reserves: Allansian Regiment 'The No Ones Own'. They aren't quite finished but at least I posted some pics! I'm also playing around with some Tau models (the rules for these aren't out yet - but I can at least build the models and try a different paint style)

Private 'Posh' Barrington-Siddeley, Private 'Deaf' Knell, Lieutenant 'Curious' George
" border="0" />

Other Squad Members: In the Pic below
Rocket Launcher: Private 'Big Bang' Olufsen
Plasma Gun: Sergeant 'Scavvy' Baldrick
Power Fist: Captain 'Tinman' Armstrong
Shotgun (Beret): Corporal 'Punishment' Jones
Medic: Private 'Godfrey' Hart
Shotgun (Bandana): Private 'Bombardier' Fuggles
Lasgun (Beard): Lance Corporal 'JBS' Haldane
Autogun (Eyepatch): Private 'Seven' Blake
Hellgun: Sergeant 'Zulu' Rorke
Lasgun (Cap): Private 'Tiger' Kelly
" border="0" />

More Squad Members:
Private 'Flash' Burns
" border="0" />
" border="0" />

WIP on my Afriel Strain Bodyguard/Veteran: Gamma VI
" border="0" />
" border="0" />

Squadron Leader 'Spitfire' Bader
" border="0" />

Lieutenant 'Blind' Bull
" border="0" />

Some WIP on the other members of the unit...
" border="0" />
" border="0" />

These are painted to tabletop standard and I'm pretty pleased with them, but we always need to improve so...

Comments and criticism welcome

Your guys have so much character! And I do appreciate how much effort it takes to name all of the troopers iin an IG army! Any fluff coming down the pipe? Seems like it wouldn't be too hard with all of the effort you've put in so far!

As if I have any place to offer this criticism, because I can't pull it off even 1/2 as good as you do, your "gemming" on the scope seems a bit fuzzy / cloudy.

I hate posts that have a "negative" feel to them, so let me rave a moment on your GS and conversions- excellent and inspiring work! Love what you did w/ the Vindicator, looking forward to seeing it painted up when you head back in that direction.
