I agree with this...
The spider motif suits them well...

Looking at the Legion as a whole, it doesn't really fit their motif because for all the "web of intrigue" spin (har), the spider is one big fat central schemer pulling strings. Alpha Legion is very much about a decentralized command structure.

That said, it would be cool imagery for a particular warband. There's no reason why a particularly cunning Alpha Legionnaire couldn't adopt the spider as his personal sigil.

I think it suits a warband/cell operating on a planet.
They are in the middle of a web of deception...
Though i can see the other argument...
I agree with the second point though...

And i think it doesn't.

I think that the Night Lords may be more suited to that than the Alpha Legion.

The web of deception can fit many within the chaos ranks, like that of Tzeenth-bases marines like the Thousand Sons or the scheming Word Bearers.
Obviously, there's no right or wrong answer as we have little to base the Alpha Legion on, however, like I said before, you and your buddy seem to be pushing it, so do what you like.

He asked the question for feedback and that's what you all got......we're just going off what little has been presented in the codexes and the Legion BL HH novel.

It's a fandex. He can add whatever he wants, and spiders fit the Alpha Legion, a few of us are in agreement. If you don't fine, I have no opinion of that, but no one is pushing the idea on you without you arguing the point.

My buddy?
At any rate it's more a matter of opinion rather than fact (right now anyway) so go figure...

Ahh....he asked the questions, he got the answers. So if you don't agree, then fine yourself eh?

Don't ask the question if you've already made up your mind on the answer yes?

Additionally, you can say you agree, BUT I can't say I don't agree? Now who's pushing their opinion as fact here.....?

No one said you can't have your own opinion, but not a single person is trying to push it on you without you firstly disagreeing with the point, so we're both trying to persuade each other. Don't express and opinion if you don't want people to disagree with it.

What are you talking about? There is no Alpha Legion. The Alpha Legion does not exist. Repeat after me, "There is no such thing as the Alpha Legion. Alpha Legion operatives do not infiltrate our society and try to bring it down from within. There is no such thing as the Alpha Legion..."

WD 326 has an article including a squad of Alpha Legion Marines using the Dark Angel iconography. They are called the Brotherhood of the Sword. They have black robes, red swords on black pads, and blue and green power armor. Are they Fallen in disguise or AL pretending to be DA? AL can get away with just about anything when modelled with liberal amounts of irony. There's no reason not to use a spider, the reason is coming up with one.

I actually have my Alpha Legion Chosen done like this. The Spiders could just be hypnotised or be operatives themselves...

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.
