Can I go back to having the Caldari Titan then, of should I skick with the Chimera?
I like the titan better, but I don't know if the size is an issue.

Just to make Harab's life easier (Note that I added/changed a few ship images to match the theme, hopefully y'all are okay with them):

CHARACTERS

Player: The infamous Darkvoidof40k
Name: Natalie Maria Rose
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Nationality: English
Rank: Officer Cadet/ Lt Commander
Personality: Compassionate, kind, friendly, good-natured, polite and often quiet - her words softly spoken. However, when in battle, she is a different person altogether; firm, decisive, strong and cunning. No matter what, she will always prioritise the safety of her crew over her own.
Appearance: 5'11", neck-length blonde hair, soft features, svelte figure.
Bio: Fresh out of the academy, she has always dreamed of the stars; of exploration; colonisation and advancement. She has also always wanted to be successful, and now she is, commanding an advanced battleship. Unfortunately, she has very little actual experience and neither does her crew. They are unproven, and the first few hostile encounters and tricky situations will undoubtedly shape them and bring them closer together as they work side-by-side. There have been many complaints that such a green officer is being given captaincy of possibly the most advanced Battleship in the stars. Some, in her defense, argue that she was the most conveniently available person to take the post, others that it's a fresh start - a new ship with a new crew, and a select few actually argue that she was chosen because of her potential. Whatever the case, Captain Rose stands ready to do her duty.

Ship Name: The Pioneer
Class: Battleship

Hardpoints:
- Point Defences
- Flack Cannon
- Launch Bay - Strike Fighters
- Heavy Cannon
- Torpedo Tube
- ESM Pod
- Primary Ion Cannon
- Secondary Ion Cannon
- Bridge
Bio: A new vessel, the first of the Mars-pattern Battleship sub-class, The Pioneer is aptly named. However, though it is arguably the most advanced of its kind, it is unproved and its crew are as raw as uncooked fish.
Appearance:

Player: Toastedandy
Name: Skald
Gender: Male
Age:35
Nationality: Scandanvian
Personality: Glory hound
Rank: Captain
Appearance: Heavily augmented. Right arm, chest and the right side of his face were destroyed
in a shipping accident, replace by augmetics.

Bio: I'll write it when I come up with something good. something about ex military and pirates sounds good

Ship name: 'Ragnorok'
Class: Cruiser
Hard-points:
Torpedo tube X4
Flakk cannon
Point defences
Launch bay X2 (Fighters and bombers)
Bio: I'll write it with the captains bio

Player: RaptorsTallon
Name: Garan Majoric
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Personality: Highly Intelligent, and a natural commander. Was the top of his class in training school. He enjoys command, and can follow orders from more senior figures. He won’t hesitate to punish insubordination. He excels in tactical planning and is never unprepared.
Nationality: European Federation (British)
Rank: Officer Cadet/ Lt Commander
Appearance: Tall (6’3”), with brown hair and eyes. His hair is cut quite short. He is healthy, but not particularly fit.
Bio: He was born in London, and is descended from a long line of ship designers and scientists. His father was the designer of the Orion Class Carrier which he now pilots, and his mother was a top laser scientist, and met his father while working on the development of the Nebula class cruiser, over 45 years ago. He had always wanted to explore the stars as a child, and was constantly watching Sci-fi films. He accepted immediately, when offered a place at the training school, and is now ready for command.

Ship Name: Devastator
Class: Carrier
Appearance: Long sleek ship, with a matt Grey/Black hull.
Hard points:
• 1 ESM Pod
• Bridge
• 7 Launch Bays (3 Bombers, 2 Strike Fighters, 2 Interceptors) (One Bay on the Prow, the rest down the sides, 3 on each side)
• 1 Torpedo Tube
• 2 Point Defence
Bio: The Devastator is fresh out of the shipyards. It is the third Orion Class Carrier which has been built, but is by far the most sophisticated. It is fitted with the latest in weapons and computer systems, most of which have been fitted for the first time on this ship. One of the most exiting pieces of technology on this ship is the brand new AI system built into the mainframe. AI has been around for a long time, this system however, uses holo-projectors to make an actual humanoid form for its self. This AI can even take command of the ship in an emergency, such as the death of the captain during a combat situation.

Player: Snarky
Name: Mark Reynolds
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Personality: Brash, Risk taker.
Nationality: American
Rank: Officer Cadet/ Lt Commander
Appearance: Average, looks like a typical member of the navy.
Bio: Serving in the navy for 12 years as a NCO, he was finally recommended by his Captain for retraining as a commissioned officer after seeing his command of the Hornet against a pirate raid.

Ship: Horizon
Class: Battleship
Appearance: A long ship, designed for firing broadside shots.
Hard Points:
- 1 ESM Pod
- Bridge
- 1 Flak Cannon
- 1 Launch Bay
- 7 Torpedo Tubes

Nah, I'm involved in some other RPs so I cant take on another, besides, I dunno why but I just don't like the way those ships look design wise, just a mtter of personal preference, nothing against anyone here...I'll save my input for a battlefleet gothic RP or something along those lines.

I'll be happy to watch the epicness from the sidelines though!

Well then, better get back to posting in those other roleplays!

Also, to those involved in this game, can we try and keep the IC content (when it starts) at a higher literacy level please (as in, the quality that Harrab and myself post with)? Not a lot ruins a roleplay worse than badly written posts. Of course, that's excluding people who aren't very good at spelling/writing in English due to Dislexia (or similar) or because it's not their first language.

I always try to write detailed posts, involving the greater story line rather than just my actions.
This is only my 2nd RPG, my first being Stone, and I seem to have been able to do quite well there.
Spelling isn't my strong point, but it is right most of the time, and at leased understandable.

BTW: What do you mean by IC content, I am not familiar with this abreviation.

However, we should generally try and keep the ship images as similar as possible, so I'm going to suggest using these rules:

1) Use EVE online ship images only.
2) Try and keep to the size of your ship when you search for pictures, though they don't actually have to be the same class. (ie my Battleship image wasn't of a battleship, but rather of a Phoenix which is of a similar size)
3) Only use Caldari ship images (so our ships don't look totally different to each other), and perhaps the others to represent ships created by different countries - but due to everyone being united, the ships should follow the same basic style. These others could also be used to show older ships.

Well the thing is that the EVE titans are huge, they're like mini space stations in design. It kinda struck me like choosing the Death Star as your ship profile pic.

EDIT:// BTW I'd appreciate not editing our profiles if you're not the GM.... I'm not a big fan of EVE ship designs.

While I agree that keeping the ships similar would help keep the "United People" theme, it really isn't compulsory.

Keep in mind that as was said in the OP, most countries developed their own tech then shared once they were sure they'd gotten it working, and several ships may be based off older hulls, all that would matter is that they'd display the correct markings and have the right IFF code, and as Darkvoid said, their size in their parent game is irrelevant, as this isn't based on it at all.

Players will be given several oppertiuntes as the RP progresses to change around their hardpoints, and if the worst happens and their ship is destroyed, they can create a totally new one, (if they survived.)

I will also be offering experimental weapons and sub-systems at certain points in the story, these will be powerful but will also suffered from up to two unpleasant side effects, but the longer you use them, the quicker your crew can make adjustments and get rid of them.

Example 1:

Apocalypse Cannon
Requires: replacement of all other offensive weapons systems, spinal mount. (can only fire at targets in the ships front arc.)

Benifits: causes 8 points of damage per shot.
Side-effects: 1
Host ship suffers 1 point of hull damage per shot as the recoil damages the superstructre. (repairable only at shipyard)

Example 2:
Silent Running Stealth Generator
Requires: replacement of all defensive systems, (ESM and point defenses)
Benifits: Invisible to hostile scanners.
Side-effects: 2
Cannot power shields while stealth field is active.
Must de-colak to fire.

Example 3:
Hailstorm Missile System.
Requires: replacement of all other offensive weapons systems and launch bays, (these are given over to missile production)
Benefits: fires up to 150 missiles that travel at normal weapon speed, (no waiting a round for impact, it takes three missile hits to cause 1 point of damage)
Side-effects: 2
Must launch all at once, then wait a round to reload.
Each missile chooses its own target. (player just fires them, don't worry, they look for IFF so no friendly fire incidents)

As for the RP starting, either tomorrow or when we get enough players.

Oh, By the way, Congratulations to those players who have already posted ship designs, Using your common theme of torps, ESM and Strike craft, you have just dictated the Alliance preferred doctrine of Space combat:

"Focused, Accurate fire from long range with mutual Electronic Support and Strike-craft raids."

As a comparison here's the Pirates known tactics:

"Ambush and Overwhelm with unrelenting volume of fire and ship numbers, board and sabotage if possible."

NEW ABILITY UNLOCKED.

"Close Support Drill"

Alliance ships crews and their captains are trained to value mutual co-operation, its what got them this far, as a result, ships that remain in close proximity may combine their point defenses to defend against strike-craft and can combine their Torpedo attacks into a singe devastating volley.

heh, OMG THE TORPS ARE SO OP NERF NOW PLZ

You seem to have forgotten that torps can be easily be stopped by point defenses and Interceptors.

Marines are present on every ship, so listing them isn't necessary, they're just there so you know that you can defend against internal attacks. (or launch some of your own....)

That's where some good ol' human ingenuity comes into play, we paint some smiley faces on the torpedos and tell them that they have a bunch of diplomats floating their way to negotiate surrender terms...
