EXACTLY, us warbosses are screwed... Just to be sure ill post what it says in codex: ... any weapon attacking the monolith will roll for ap using its UNAUGMENTED strength... p.21 Codex: necrons courtesy of GW

Run a unit of Boyz with a Powerklaw at it.
Make sure to assault towards its portal so it can't draw units toward it without coming into contact with you.
Pray to Mork you either immobilize or destroy it. Weapon destroyed does virtually nothing, same with shaken or stunned.
If you manage to assault and block its portal and immobilize it you've rendered it useless as it can't move away from you, it can't turn and draw a unit towards it to shoot at you and it won't be able to hit you with the particle whip.

Current Necrons FAQ:
Q. Does a model with a powerfist/claw that attacks against a Monolith get to double its Strength for armour penetration rolls?
A. Yes. blah blah Games Workshop likes restating questions like college papers.

Fraid so.

If a necron player had been telling you otherwise they're fibbing

Logically the rule does preclude PK's functioning, but gameswise they work just fine, as clarified by the FAQ.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

It's another example of GW's writing.

Dex:
THERE'S NO FETHING WAY TO EVER GET MORE THAN 1D6 AND STRENGTH 4, MONKEY.
FAQ:
What? Of course you can!

Still. All you have to do is immobilize it and spend the rest of the game beating on it if it worries you that much.

An Ork Boyz squad is LD 7 with a reroll, unless there is something I'm missing. Most fearless units are LD 10. This means the Deciever's powers are actually effective on fearless Orks, as opposed to say fearless Bezerkers.

Mob Rule. The leadership of a Mob of Orks can be equal to the number of Orks in the mob. If that number is over 11, they count as Fearles, with LD 10.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Or spam him with Dreads and Kanz.

Trust me, all the gauss fire in the world won't stop 11 walkers, a heap of trukks and a big pile of 6 pt boyz...

The Kanz/Dredds are also pretty handy at chopping up flying bunkers

FAQ states that a power fists/klaws work. Makes sense if you think of it as the strength of the attack.

All CC attacks use str of the user, unless modified by a weapon's special rules. The powerfist imbues the user with double strength, which means he hits like a mack truck

It doesn't help that the codex is so old, and the core rules have changed in many ways since it was written...

As stated by Anvildude, you are missing something. The LD is equal to the number of orks in the unit.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

OT; I'd cry for you if not for the fact that the only things in my army that can hurt the lith regularly are Gimpy: The world's slowest Carnifex and Sir-Aims-Alot: the cross-eyed Tyrannofex...

There are a few others. Rail Guns pop to my mind first and foremost.

Nids don't get railguins

They'd like them, but the powerpacks get heavy

Railguns work well on liths.

Hell you can even kill them with one extremely lucky shot from a meltagun. It loses the extra D6, but it is still AP 1, as i was reminded to my cost last tournament

ZZap guns and shock attack guns if you get really lucky can pop a lith as well, rolling for weapon strength means that you can't count on it at all but still a possibility. Moniliths are really there just to absorb fire for the rest of the army and block you physically. In the games I see them played they rarely earn their points through damage dealt.

Emphasis on "really lucky". The chances to penetrate with the Zzapgun is 9%, even less for the SAG due to misfires. Compared to that, the chances of a warphead meltaing it are huge.

Id love to use Warpheads, but they are a bit too random for me. Which sucks because they have some really badass powers.
