I guess you could rationalise it as the Eldar accompanying the Inquisitor temporarily, but I could never see an Eldar actually joining the retinue of an Inquisitor. Even Ravenor was very much the junior partner when dealing with his Eldar ally.
The Inquisitor Game had an Eldar Pirate Prince coerced into working for an Inquisitor so that he could regain his sisters soul stone.
That seems to be the primary way of enlisting Eldar help - Souls stones
re asking for help - very few (any?) of the races ask for help - cirumstances arise where the enemy of my enemy is a useful (and disposable) tool.
For the Emperor by Sandy Mitchell. Amberly Vail works pleasantly enough with the Tau and the Kroot, since she suspects the presence of Tyranid genestealers. Of course, she neglects to tell the Tau of her suspicions, and in the end she 'forgets' to tell the Tau that their soldiers who were imprisoned by the 'stealers are likely infected, but that's the nature of such truces..
Yeah I mentioned that earlier - thats often the way Amberely (and Valeria I imagine) works I should think - use the Xenos to assist the Imperium but have no compunction about sacrifcing them to distract, in this case the hive fleets.
Also the way the Eldar think about humanity I guess -
IIRC the old Adeptus Titanicus supplement had an Eldar Titan Commander saying something along the lines of "Don't imagine we are allies, we just have a common enemy for a brief period".
I would be more than happy to see Xenos breed in a Inquisitorial henchmen unit on the battlefield...........
