While that is an amazing and powerful song, it's no love ballad. It is an angry F-You to her mother.

This song is not as much rock out as it is fly away.

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

There was a couple of others, but I didn't feel like they were "love" songs, more like feel good songs.

Over the Hills and Far Away by Nightwish is sort of a Love song, though it is telling a story about someone else so I guess that is different. But it is an awesome song; one of my favorites.

Budgie with a fine addition.

One of my favorite bands Wishbone Ash. The song is just killer, damn near the ultimate love song imo.. the lyrics just are spot on with what it means to love.

Jimi Hendrix will always be the standard though. This song IS Rock n Roll.

Never heard of Wishbone Ash, just listened to their Wishbone Four album through youtube, pretty sweet stuff.

iirc the lead guitarist from Wishbone Ash was with a band called Home.
They only made two albums
The eponymous debut album was a standard rock affair but really good imho with some excellent romantic tracks.

Forget the name of the second "The Alchemist" which was a concept album.
Think the band had a conflict of the direction they should take and split up.
The guitarist went to Wishbone Ash.

This one isn't so much a "rock out" song, but I think it's a classic:
