yeah....all im seeing is dictatorships and religious governments..sometimes put together......

The State would control water, electricity, health, the military, education, welfare, conservation and regulatory bodies for trade.

The State would allow a Status Quo or Death policy on tolerance with regards sexuality between consenting adults, religion, right and left leanings etc. Freedom of expression would be encouraged with the exception of hatred or threats to others, which would result in a long time in the gulag/salt mine.

2 years national service, no exceptions, at age 18 to 20.

Welfare would only be payable on fulfilment of state services, cleaning beaches, building bridges, environmental work, repairing hospitals etc. Everyone's medical assessment would include suitable contributions they can make to society.

Taxation would scale precisely then increase proportionately beyond a set point, say households with income beyond £100k pa.

The Free Market would be encouraged with regards industries that the State does not concern it's self or with lucrative government contracts supplying the nationalised industries with products or ancillary support.

The Stock Market would be severely monitored.

Heavy prison sentences would apply to financial fraud as equally as common theft. Crimes of physical cruelty, abuses etc would carry far more weighty sentencing.
Prison labour would be introduced.

State pensions would be means tested and comfortably cover living expenses.

All Hot women on the Capitols Grounds would be required to wear skimpy outfits.

Other than that, I would let the country run itself.

simple, give the people a goal, make them belive that the only way to achieve it is to do what i say and boom, I've pacified the pepople and can be gin an out ward expansion, thus bringing more people recources and ifistructure under my command, I will command the people, and all shall fear them, If my subordinates dout me they will meet there end.

My economy will be capitalistic, but leaders are ellected for life, or until impeached, so they don't have to worry about rellections and making themselves look good, they can focus on the wellbing and happyness of the people.

My millitary shall be strong, all shall serve for there right to vote(see starship troopers), training shall be brutal to root out the best of the best, failure and you are put in logistics or munufaturing of amunnitisions and arms.

I'd restructure the government into an elected oligarchy and stratify society into key roles. I would nationalise public transport, subsidise technology and industry, and push British influence in the EU. Obviously, obviously, I would require power of dictator up to the point that I would relinquish governance to the oligarchy. I'd institute a tiered voting system, based on proportional representation within strata so that no single aspect of the country would hold control over the other. I would localise governmental power in key areas. It goes on. I like planning things in my head.

Criminals are deported, executed, subjected to hard labour, or incarcerated, depending on their crimes.

Oh, and I'd invade the Falklands, just to ensure the Argentinans can't nick it now that the British millitary is effectively owned by the EU.
