Thanks for the comments warpcrafter and bigfish. That dude with the beret got stripped with the rest of them, but I have a plan for him. I am going to try a veteran squad with a counts as Harker and a tooled up squad specializing in the ambush. I dont know if that works game wise, but what the hell. I am usually pretty light in the WIP part of the WIP blog, so here are the vets, plain plasma type, a Chimera, and the first building. The interior walls will help support a roof which will have fighting positions on top.

Alright, the Plasma Vets are all done. I didnt pay attention to the codex and included a heavy flamer. Ill find a home for him in another unit. The Chimera turned out a little better. I trimmed the damage with black and put a lot more powder on it. Im trying the flash so the details will come out a little better, but some of the pics are a tad hazy.

Yeah, you are dead on with that one. The spray sealer I use clings to the transfer. I didnt realize how much until I looked at the pics.

hehe whatevs, there are many WD pics with the transfer shine you can always paint a tiny bit of thinned down gloss coat before putting the transfer on top of it, then dull coat it. Theres also solvaset. Either way, this army is sick and the decal sheen is pretty minor in comparison to the great work youve done

Small update. I got the 3 Lascannon teams done. They are attached to the Infantry Platoon squads. I couldnt bring myelf to use the big 60mm bases. They just dont look right in a sea of 25mm bases. Anyway....

Great work as always dude, liking the weathering on the chimera and the way you base your HWS's are vey cool!

On a side note, the fortress from Warmill that I mentioned on page one arrived at my place a while back and it is fantastic! If you are still set on making that patrol base I highly recommend it.

Keep up the good work,

@Las- Thanks man. Im going try a different angle when I get the whole thing finished.

@Cain- Im still working on the patrol base deal. The Warmill fort is fantastic but Im not sure I want that look. Still kicking around some ideas. I think I want it to look more, spontaneous.

Today is going to be a great day. My Noles are just hours away from trashing the stupid Sooners and proving to the world we are back! Im sure everyone is looking forward to the game as much as I. On another note, I finished the first Melta Vet Squad, Advisors, Ratlings, and last 2 Chimera. Advisors didnt turn out as well as I hoped, but they will do. The Ratlings look a whole lot like Cadian snipers from the HQ set, but they are Ratlings. You just have to look at them at the right angle.

So I finished the Hell Hound. Havent decided if I will do a second or not, but I am leaning that way. These things are pretty sharp. On a sadder note my Noles didnt have enough juice to overcome the hated Sooners. This year.

@bigfish- Thanks, I figured snipers would be camo'd up.

@ FM Ninja 08- The mortar shells come with the FW Krieg Hvy Mortar. I got 3 a little while ago for another project.

Quick update, first Storm Trooper team. Reading the fluff, I figured they wouldnt have the same uniform as the unit they are attached to. Following the whole special forces theme they have, I gave them shades of black and grey. I figured they would prefer to attack at night.

Really like your take on the HWS. I want to build my Imperial Navy Strike force, around the concept of Boarding Operations, Counter Smuggling, and rescuing downed flyers and crew/ securing crash sites behind enemy lines.

With this in mind, I want my HW teams to be Man Portable and Mobile. Mortars, AC and LC are bit heavy, a cut down HB (like the elysians) and other weapons like snipers and Heavy Flamers would be perfect. Add in lots of special weapons, Shotguns and they should be okay.

I like your idea's on the FOB. The guard need to get alot more tactical, they have numbers, doctorine and lots of Weaponry on their side and 40k always portray's them as Cannon Fodder, rather than excellent fighting troops. More Napoleonic trudging at enemy guns rather than Modern Professional Military, with move and fire doctorine.

@Scrazza: Glad you like it. I wasn't sure if the army was big enough for an alternate color scheme.

@dsteingass: Well, I dont drink and I think fantasy football is weird. So I am stuck with painting 40k armies.

@mwnciboo: Thats a pretty cool army idea you have. As for IG tactics, you are on track again. They always talk about huge armies and enormous casualties. I figure a solid company with some elite support can take on pretty much anybody. Besides, game wise you cant really field a SM Battle Company outside of Apocalypse. On the other hand, you can play an IG company. Even throw in some armor to boot.

So I havent gotten a lot done this week. I finished Creed and his Command Squad. Pics of Creed here but his squad are just more camo'd Cadians. The Demolisher is finished, I have 2 LRBT's waiting to go. I have all the weapons interchangeable, will do the same with the others.

If I am honest I play more "Flames of War than 40K, simply because It feels like I am commanding a "Force" rather than a HQ, 2 tactical Squads, a couple of Tanks, a walker and squad of Terminators.

So after I finished crying over my Noles, I finished up the second Storm Trooper team.

@dsteingass: I got no beef with Ohio, Ill root for them. That whole thing with Tressel and Pryor was a mess.

@mwnciboo: Yeah, I have never played a game of anything. I just enjoy painting, building models, reading the stuff. Lately Ive thought about it alot. The guys at GW are always trying to get me to come in for a lesson.

@dsteingass: I agree. I dont see how the NCAA hammers Ohio, or is about to, and lets Newton and Auburn just roll on into the championship.

On a lighter note, I finished the 2 sentinels and 1 of the Leman Russ tanks. His brother is almost done, may post tomorrow. Lord Commissar came out pretty well. He and Creed are Finecast. Not sure why GW decided on the new materials, but they are really, really nice. I decided to reorganize the army. It will have 3 platoons, 3 vet squads. I mean, the whole world does the giant platoon, lots of vets things. Besides, I like the way these guys are looking and want to keep going. Thing is I have run out of models. Hello Ebay.
