You don't have an addiction. You're just a "collector".
Of course if you insist that you're primarily a gamer and painter then you definitely have an addiction.
Wouldn't worry about it too much unless it's affecting your work/family/relationships/marriage/etc. Most of us, myself included, seem to have large quantities of unpainted figs around. I don't have the model kits, and I probably didn't spend as much, but I've probably got as many unpainted figs as you show there. Darn those great internet deals!

Yes, sales are the killer!
A few years ago I started out with a FoW British Infantry force, but then found somewhere with 40% off British Armoured companies, then found the same discount on British Airbourne and German Panzer Grenadiers.
Up until 3-4 months ago I had 4 armies for a game I have never played with one tank assembled.
Thus my recent purge on the unpainted and a virtual stop on new purchases.
Then I saw a Baneblade @ 33% off.
The Mrs understands my problem, she has similar urges for Teapots, shoes and handbags.
That reminds me - back to work!

You probably don't really have an addiction issue, but i'd truly ask myself "do i need all this crap or will I use it?"
I do not see anything wrong with buying an army in bulk, ending up with lots of boxes as long as you have storage space, and do plan to use them. Considering the price increases lately, a buddy of mine who bought a guard army unbuilt 3 years ago, looks like a genius now, as he bought all those Apolcolpyse splash releases for guard including Chimera's, Sentinals, Guardsman. He is now building his guard army, and selling the rest to GW players who need the models, but don't want to pay retail. He will come out ahead and help out several gamers he knows.
However, when you start to pile up all the Reaper, or just models you impulse buy, you may want to think why? how? what you may use. A few years back I recognized when I moved the crap ton of armies I had unbuilt and that I never really planned to play. I unloaded tons of armies, now i'm down to a few armies, and I'm not really starting new ones. I'm focusing on expanding only what I have.
40k~ CSM, Demons as I had then from WFB and converted them to 40k. (formerly owned guard, eldar, loyalist SM, orks, necrons)
WFB~ Dwarves, Skaven. High Elves will disappear whenever I find a purchaser (formerly owned Chaos Mortals, Chaos Dwarves, Demons transitioned to 40k)
WMHD~ Khador, Searforge (formerly owned Cygnar, Skorne, some Trollbloods)

If you're not even unpacking stuff then its certainly an issue you should address. I have a ton of stuff but its all assembled and I use it in games.
Its not very manly but you may just like shopping :p

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.

Do you NEED to buy new stuff? Will you go through legitimate withdrawal if you don't? If not, then you're not an addict.

Addict. You'll never build and paint all that! Like many of us (myself included) your rate of procurement is outstripping your construction speed! To be honest, if I had more space and money I'd do the same.
